I just don't see the point of multiboxing in D3.. Even if you manage to multibox 4 characters in one game, and set three of them to follow the main, the main wont possibly be able to kill the creeps alone because the creeps scale with how many characters are in the game, (i.ex. 4 times stronger).

I like the new system. I think it will help provide a stable economy and prolong its stability. You can't just get a lvl 7 rune and say, alright.. now im done.

You have to search for that lvl 7 rune with 40/15 on it now ;] i imagine that will be a pain but rewardful!

Ok, so Inferno is confirmed to be a difficulty beyond hell. I like that, but if this is Blizzards idea of endgame I can't help but feel a little disappointed. I expected something more elaborate than "all acts runs" as opposed to Baal runs. Though as a (semi)completionist I'll play until I've done most, if not all, achievements (which would logically result in a fair bit of play in inferno).
We can't expect them to add more content. The game has a story which has to be upheld, and any extension of that can be done via expansions.

One type of endgame could be strange game modes ala Wc3 custom map style such as defending an escort whilst battling streams of demons. The possibilities could be endless.

I look very forward to trying out Inferno mode. For those that are still unsure of how it will work, I think that if you compare it to D2; D3 normal, nightmare and hell will be similar to the D2 versions but with an extra difficulty that is 50-100% more difficult than Hell (or even more difficult?).. Which makes one think ;o

And to the guy who said whatever about PC hotkeys vs controllers, controllers would win that battle really easily. It's much easier to just pull down the right trigger and then tap the button for your selected spell in the hotkey slot on the controller than it is to reach a finger in whatever direction your hotkeys are on the keyboard.

Sorry but you're simply wrong. You have one hand on the mouse and one hand resting on the area around 1-5 and that's it. You can do all you need to do from here and much faster than on a console. Diablo will always be a computer game, it just wouldn't be right to release it on console - it's way too fast paced. I play shooters on console and I realize that people who've practiced are really fast, but the general consensus on the internet, is that computer users would beat a console user any day when it comes to reactions and the time it takes to get the aim where you want.

I'm not even going to give you a good reply, this is the dumbest shit I've ever read.
Lol, yeah that was easy just to write that huh? You probably realized I was right and tried in a rather half-ass way to keep a straight face.

Oh no, what am I gonna do?? Please! Please give me a 'good reply'. I can't sleep if you don't..

A good reply would have been your a complete dumbass for thinking that a PC user could beat a console user in an FPS game, that's just absurd. I've already stated that I LOVE playing games on the PC as much as I love playing them on my 360, but FPS games are the trashiest games I've ever played on a PC, there is literally almost no functionality to anything with all the options you have, plus you are extremely limited with aiming and looking around in intense firefights with the mouse.
Here Mr. Big bad Troll have this little sweet Kirby for dinner: :kirby:

Now calling me a dumbass was really not nice when I gave you such an honest and true reply. Bad :troll: . Go watch some pro Starcraft 2 replays and see how fast those people can throw down forcefields, do all sorts of things in combat. I can guarantee you, you can't do that with a controller. Hell, just watch the latest Beta gameplay footage and see for yourself that it can't be done with a controller when the pace is like that.

You clearly don't play consoles, mostly because your constantly making your self out to be ignorant of their capabilities, because consoles are EASILY hailed as the fastest and most intense form of gameplay out there right now.
    I have a PS3 and I play it regularly.

Now, the discussion wasn't whether console games have fast and intense gameplay - I know they can have. It was whether they can deliver a good experience to the player with D3 and I don't think they can live up to it. They're very good for some game types, like car games, shooters, 3rd person shooters, etc. But try playing a game where you need good and fast precision like SC2 or Diablo. It just won't work.

I already mentioned plenty console games that are almost exactly like Diablo and they work just fine.

Alright, i solved the hotkey problem.
Tell me more problems concerning why Diablo 3 couldn't work on consoles and i will try to figure it out.. I'm in brainstorming mode :P

I can't see how Diablo 3 couldn't work similar to those games.

One issue i see people mentioning is there arent enough buttons for hotkeys..

L1, L2, R1, R3 could work like Shift1, Shift2, Shift3, Shift4 on the PC keyboard which could give you five different sets of X, Square, Circle and Triangle. 5 sets times 4 buttons means 20 hotkeys. And thats not counting the d-pad (arrow buttons).

This is exactly what I've been saying! In hotkey functionality, controller beats keyboard anyday. Just by holding down the right trigger, it opens up AT LEAST 9 hotkeys, even more if you add the right stick and the extra 4 directions on the D-pad. Thanks very much by the Left, most of those games you've mentioned are just absolutely amazing, although I didn't see mention of Champions of Norath, which is a game I played with a friend on the PS2 once and it was pretty awesome. Oh, and Sacred 2 on the 360, I hear that one is super great with functionality and everything.
I did mention Champions of Norrath.. And no, i didn't edit it in ;P I have never tried Sacred 2 though, me and my friends are mostly all about the Playstation.

I see most of you are forgetting that there have been tons of AARP (Diablo style) console games in addition to Dungeon Siege 3.

They are great fun. All the classes are very playable ex. Melee, Ranged, Spellcaster etc.

    For example there are:

    Ps2/Xbox:
    Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance
    Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance 2
    Champions of Norrath
    Champions: Return to arms

    Ps3/Xbox360:
    Dungeon Hunter: Alliance
    Dungeon Siege 3

I recommend checking them out of you have consoles and have a few bucks to spare. (Note, the ps2/xbox games are very enjoyable even though you might think they are outdated, which they are not)

Ps. They are all 2-4 player co-op (depends on game) so it is very good fun with friends.

posted a message on Idea for Item drops
I have tried auto-pick up and auto-sell in an aarp (a game very similar to diablo) and it worked very well there.. But Diablo is still a very different game and i don't think this belongs here. Or at least it didn't in D2 where you could socket items for runewords etc but then again D3 doesn't have runewords. I guess we will know how valuable greys become when D3 comes out ;]

Edit: Well, it didnt have auto-pick up, it just had auto-sell so you still had to manually pick up the items. But you could set the auto-sell to item tiers. For example; only greys, or Blues and below, green and below, yellow and below etc.

posted a message on Soulbinding Idea
    Quote from proletaria

    Quote from lgtcount

No you don't get the item and it's already soulbound. No items will ever be like that, and you would always be able to equip items and use them without soulbinding. But if you DO choose to soulbind it to your character/account, then the armor gets some bonuses. Nothing huge, but still substantial.

I understood your meaning, although what you're describing there (in wow terminology at least) is Bind on Equip, with minor change that, when you bind it, it is enhanced. You could use the (lesser version) of the item without binding it, but why would you? The opportunity cost is you can't sell it. If it's not an irreplacable end-game item it wouldn't make much sense for an average player to use this feature.

    Quote from lgtcount

The main reason behind this is because Blizzard wants to not have soulbinding, which I agree with, yet there are concerns with the economy. If you implement this then you still have the benefits of not forcing soulbinding on the player, but you also won't have items running all over the place in the economy because people will choose to soulbind the item to be able to have some better stats.

I don't think this would be as effective an item-sink as you think it would be. Realistically speaking, farmers aren't going to bind anything to themselves and you are only effectively taking items from the resale market and potential small-time gamers who want to sell something they don't use anymore or have outgrown.

Well, the farmers would most likely bind some items for their farming character(s).

Anyway, I like this idea. The stats from the soulbind could also be randomized like the affixes and prefixes so you will always be hunting for a better item even if you soulbind it which would turn it into an even greater sink.

And if you eventually feel that you would like to get rid of the item you can always transmute it into crafting materials which you could then sell or use.

That is why I respect individual thinkers enormously, but at the same time realize that they're the minority of people making up our species.

This is me. I just try to have an open mind about things and form my own opinions. They may or may not be similar to other opinions but i thought about these things for myself and i try not to delibirately associate myself with other groups, well, at least concerning political, philosophical and religious (spiritual) things. Hobbies and interests however are a different thing.
