Great post.
What popped to my mind when you mentioned the word "Sentry" was sentry-turrets, i.ex. like most of the old Assassins traps. You place and it fires automatically at opponents. Having that said, if it is currently one of the coolest gadgets yet, it must hold some physics properties. Perhaps it fires in pulses, damaging and possibly with more advanced physics (than D2) knockback features.

Nov 16, 2010leftfoot posted a message on Blizzard Explores ConsolesI think most of you guys are forgetting that the way they have designed Diablo 3 is that it already basically plays exactly like a console game now with decreased potion use, less town visits etc. A regular console controller would be all that you would need for a console version. I mean, how many buttons do you actually use in Diablo? Mini-map button, show-items button, menu button (for all your menu needs like char, inv, skills etc), attack1 button, attack2 button and potions. These could easily be cleverly configured onto a controller. The only thing you would have to worry about is the mouse but the joystick button on the controller can work well for the movement and the X button could be attack. Sure, you may no be able to focus enemies as easily but that just means you have to be a bit more careful.Posted in: News

Nov 16, 2010leftfoot posted a message on Blizzard Explores ConsolesPosted in: NewsQuote from Sabvre
I can name a few PS1 and PS2 hack and slashes that were fun, and had multiple skills...
And i will.. The Champions series is pretty much just like Diablo but in a console. (Ps2,Xbox) and they were loaaaads of fun. Also Brute Force (xbox) and Hunter the Reckoning (Xbox,Ps2) although both Brute Force and Hunter both also had guns but they also had melee.
And i'd just like to mention, that playing 4 player in these games with my friends was just about the best console experience i had.. So now that i think about it, i would in addition to the D3 PC version, also buy the console version just to relive those moments.. even though i don't actually own a console (most of my friends do though). -
Oct 22, 2010leftfoot posted a message on The Blizzcon HubThere was no disappointment for me in anything they showed us. Personally, I would rather have wanted to see the Demon Hunter being a Bow + Dual-dagger agility type.. But hey, this will most likely be a lot of fun too.Posted in: News
However, I haven't seen the release date brought up yet (in this thread, that is)..
So, with this new look on the developement of Diablo 3, when do you think it will be out?
Personally, I'm going to go with June/July 2011. -
Oct 20, 2010leftfoot posted a message on Diablo III's PvP System to be Revealed at BlizzconLike i said before, i kind of liked the RuneScape duel system where you challenge someone to duel, put up stakes and winner takes all. I think there should be a specific server for dueling/pvping which could contain lots more players (dozens?).Posted in: News

Oct 14, 2010leftfoot posted a message on Wizard Looks Good in New Item SetI have mixed feelings about this one.. But i bet it looks much much better in-game.Posted in: News
I wouldn't mind seeing the cape/robe/cloak thing a little larger though, maybe reaching the floor. Maybe on another armor set. -
Oct 5, 2010leftfoot posted a message on Wizard in Plate MailI saw this earlier today and i didn't think much of it.. Then later today, i imagined her walking around confidently and fiercely through hordes of demons throwing them away using telekinesis and shooting frost balls at them.. After that i thought it looked pretty fucking bad ass.Posted in: News

Aug 25, 2010leftfoot posted a message on New Gem Madness Perks CuriosityI like the idea of having a chance to find a stack of gems up to 5x .... I also think that gems should be able to stack close to infinite. Example, one player goes through the game but doesnt care much for the higher gems but still collects the lvl 5 gems. After finishing the play-through he could have perhaps 200x lvl 5 gems in one stack, easily trade-able to someone for some gold.Posted in: News
In addition to that, "tramsmuting" gems to a higher level could be like, you just transmute the 200x stack and get 1x lvl 10 gem and 1x lvl 9 (or whatever lvl it would go to). It would take the hassle out of transmuting thousands of 3x gems. -
Aug 15, 2010leftfoot posted a message on Epic BattlesWould make sense if they would drop health globes at every 1/4s of health or even 1/8s of health depending on the enemy.Posted in: News
But we already know that the they will make it work whatever method they use in the end. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Runes drop as loot and are already colored.
In your inventory you already know if it's Indigo, Crimson or Alabaster etc.
You place it into a skill, then the rune will get a random AFFIX + PREFIX item bonus AND it will stick to Magic Missile (or whatever else skill) forever.
This way you already know what you are getting yourself into, but it will still help clean out the economy.

Like others said, mourn it, try to cope and then try to move on.

Scorpion (from Mortal Kombat) could be defined by him throwing a spear, thus you would have a valid point. But, he could also be defined by the fact that the purpose of his spear was to drag his enemies closer, which is what the original poster had in mind with the dragging-enemies-closer-spells. Besides, somehow i don't think Anchient Spear is very good against huge mobs (unless it can be runed to be).
I think that would make for some interesting game-play. Pulling insane amount of mobs into you and trying to massacre them all at the same time somehow. Cleaving attack (splash) would be a must for that i think =D

If implemented in D3, these items should be better than the average items you can obtain in that area but TOO good, so you will still be able to find even better items. Then it won't have to be like: "Oh nice (or, "ahh weak"), I got the Arkains Valor quest, now I don't have to search for armor for the next 2 acts".

Let's say that hypothetically there are 10 employees at Blizzard working on bug fixes and they have 50 unresolved bug reports. Would they really need more people to throw at them bug reports (possibly a lot of duplicate reports) when they already have their hands full? It makes more sense that they reduce the bug reports to 25 before inviting thousands of more players to have each of them send them a few bug reports. That's just work-flow science.
(Also sorry in advance if i "sound" a bit agitated(?).. I haven't had my tobacco)

Or, before that, similar to the Druid turning himself into a Werewolf etc.

I imagine that higher lvl gear will give different crafting materials than low lvl gear
