Mar 21, 2012Bridge_Burner posted a message on Nephalem Valor BuffI think this is a great idea and it really covers off everyones objectives. We are killing more which expands the end game content, more loot drops for us which everyone wants. A nice little addition ofr both of us is well is the implications for the RMAH. More good loot drops = more items for sale of high quality on the RMAH = Lower prices because there is more supply on the market. This also makes Blizzard happy because it can potentially mean more trades on the RMAHPosted in: News

Jul 20, 2010Bridge_Burner posted a message on How Soon is Soon™Here's hoping that we find out a lot in October. Great article Scyber!! From a business standpoint it makes sense why we have so little new information. They have to drum up as much interest in blizzcon as possible. Its not just about diablo but all their other stuff as well. The more they can get any fan interested in the convention, the greater the chance fans will buy other products right now. You could say its the clam before the storm right now.Posted in: News

Apr 5, 2010Bridge_Burner posted a message on Diablo II Urban LegendsA superstition I had way back when I was playing a lot and had my mf characters around 2002 was to never make a town portal on the same level as a boss. So for example I always did meph runs and I would set my tp on the durance level 2, never level 3. Don't know if that ever acctually did anything though! hahaPosted in: News

Mar 10, 2010Bridge_Burner posted a message on The Past, the Present, and the FutureI don't know if I'm crazy about the new resource systems. I liked the trademark mana, but hey I'm open to it. Knowing blizzard they will do it well. I love the fact that they went back to the tetris style inventory. I hate being able to carry like 20 weapons and armor at a time, just seems rediculous hahaPosted in: News

Mar 3, 2010Bridge_Burner posted a message on Diablo III, Featuring BoEPosted in: NewsQuote from "sylvainh2o" »Remember in Diablo2 by example when someone would put his name on a personnal item and then nobody wanted to buy it from him or at a fraction of the price? Well now we won't even be able to sell most of our items anymore so no more trading almost and this is supposed to help Diablo3 economy??? .
This isn't really applicable because its just completely different. The reason no one would want it is because there were so many other ones available so why take one that was personalized? Also I think you may be confused as to how many items will be BoE. Blizzard came out and said it would only be the elite high end items.
Quote from "sylvainh2o" »What if like everyone else i use items that at some point gets useless because i level up and then i would like to trade them to someone that needs it... Oh now i won't be able because it is now bounded to my character so all i can do is sell it to store or just delete it
Again you won't really have a problem with out-leveling BoE items as they will be the best ones you can get, can't go up from there -

First of all welcome!
Quote from "Zhar" »And naw, that would probably be pretty bad for the economy, because said cap would have to be constantly adjusted with the amount of players and accounts, else the highest items would reach a ridiculous price, and thus, instead of having an oversaturated economy, we'd have an undersupplied economy.
Zhar got it right, plus I think that would take away an element to the game. Even though I probably will never find a certain item, If I know for a fact I won't then I won't even try to do mf runs ect. As much as doing Meph runs over and over.... and over again sucks, I'll admit there is always that excitment when the drop comes! -
Mar 2, 2010Bridge_Burner posted a message on Diablo III, Featuring BoELike Bashiok said BOE is not a magic bullet, just one of the many aspects to control an economy. I think BOE is a great idea and I am glad they are having it. Its going to make it harder and take more skill. People will have to learn how to play with what they have more. There will be less "cookie cutter" builds as well as in every WW barb has to have THIS weapon ect ect. I just think it will force characters to be a bit more diverse.Posted in: News
As far as the economy, if you took it in school and actually understood it you won't be arguing on how this will kill it. Its going to fix prices and not have them fluctuate like crazy. What is the number one risk to currency? Inflation. How do you cause hyper inflation, de-value a currency and destroy it? Flood the market with the currency. That’s why countries, for example Canada, have a central bank. They fix how much currency is floating around in the market in order to keep the value some what stable. Take Vietnam. A while back they built a bunch of infrastructure. To pay for it they just began printing money and devalued the absolute crap out of it. Now the Dong is so low its really not even worth dirt. I know this is long and there are many more factors that go into currency valuation but this is just simple short example to try and demonstrate supply and demand.
Supply and demand is the basis of economics. What I was trying to show with the example is if you can control the supply you can fix prices somewhat. The demand for high level items will always be high of course, so fix the supply as well, you fix the price. There will be a little fluctuation of course but that’s what you want. BOE will help control this supply. Again it won't be a magical fix but its a step in the right direction for sure. I think we are all taking the D2 economy as well and applying the changes to that to see what the effect will be. This is just simply flawed. The D3 economy will be completely different and my guess is it won't be an item based economy. Expect a shift to the gold standard; it’s the easiest thing for them to manipulate the levels of in the game.
Again, I apologize for making this post long but I want to give one more example of the effects of controlling supply to kind of drive the point home. Everyone remembers when oil prices per barrel went crazy, up into the $150 per barrel at one point. There are a lot of reasons why this happened and that will be WAY to long to go into but for arguments sake let’s say it was completely because the supply and demand was out of whack. Again before I get some people trying to pick that apart I know that’s not the only reason why, again, arguments sake. Anyways the Saudi Arabians came out and said they wanted, and felt, oil should be at around $75 a barrel. Check the prices I believe it’s at around $78 today. It took a while to come to that level and there were fluctuations as with any open market but look at a 12 month chart and you can see it come up and level off around $75 for around the last 4 months. How did they do this? Controlled supply. When your one of the largest oil producing nations you can do this.
BOE is just one of the engines Blizzard is going to use to accomplish these ends. As I said before my bet is we are moving to a monetary standard so controlling the supply of the items will fix the monetary value of the item. Now, to control inflation of the actual monetary unit we will use there will be many gold sinks the game that they have already talked about. Same basic principles apply to that. So now Blizzard will control all supply and therefore fix prices and demand. Demand moves as an adverse function of supply (forgot to mention this). As one increase the other decrease and visa versa. Fix one you basically fix the other.
So, in my opinion, bravo  Blizzard your head is on the right track and you are well on your way to making a much more viable economy! God I can’t wait for this game haha.
(Wish this would have happened in university could have used this for the beginnings of a paper :P) -

Cletus stared in horror for an instant as he got his first look at the blighted appearing in the door. It was in this moment he recognized that all humanity had fled from these walking horrors and that they had been reduced to nothing but beasts. With this realization Cletus had no qualms about his natural reaction to pull out his two trusty six-shooters and take aim at the first figure through the door.
"Alright then y'all its them or us, I got the first one!"
Cletus let off two shots, the first missing his mark but the second striking true. The bullet found the center of the first Zombies head causing the blighted's head, or what was left of it, to snap back in a red spray. Its feet came out beneath it causing it to land straight on its back infront of the door.
"Yehawww!" Cletus shouted in delight having bagged himself his first prize of this ordeal.
Knowing his poor condition Cletus thought to himself there would be no running from this fight as he cocked his two pistols in a flash. He knew his hunting experience would come in handy in the ordeal to come. What had his cousin got him into now.....

Thats a very good point. Looking at it that way I have to agree with you. I never WANTED stealth just thought it was a possible jump. But I'm assuming the guys at blizzard are smart enough to look at it that way too. Screw leaving monsters behind I'm killing them ALL haha

I have no idea what the next class will be but I think the best way to get to what it is is to look at what the others are not. I think the past isn't very relevant because their tone so far is one of "mostly new and different". They brought back the Barb as a small bridge from game to game as far as classes but I think that will be it.
I like the persona of your character. The dark - brooding loner in the corner who acctualy kicks major ass is sweet. I think it may be a BIT to close to the witch doctor though cause I mean look at that guy, hes got to be a loner in a society outside of his.
I have a feeling the last class will have something to do with stealth. Its unlike the other 4 classes we have so far and is a major different game play and startegy. I just hope they make it completely different from the assassin in D2.
I think if your wraith has a place it will be more of a stealth class but you look like you have the start of that in there already. I personaly like your wraith, its dark and brooding which goes perfect with the tone of the game. Make it a bit more stealthy and less "mind power" and its very possible you are on to something!

"Hey y'all, whats with this here police station? And this ga'dang town for all that? I just came into town to pick up my cousin from jail, something bout 'solicitation'? She got a real pretty mouth seen her round?"
Cletus really hoped he would find some answers, and maybe a budweiser .

Advantage - Traps and small arms
Disadvantages - Fatigue
I know this is pretty much the cop but I feel like this personality could be a lot funnier and interesting. Any suggestions for some tweaks?

I'm so excited I acctually re-installed and started playing Diablo 2 LOD the other day for the first time in about 5 years. It's still so awesome, but a bit frustarting right now. I remember way back when I had some items and was always looking forward to finally being able to use them. So my question is, whats the best way to start up again? Best way to at least get some medicore items for something to look forward to. Any thoughts?
