posted a message on PS3 UEE: I'm looking to trade for some blacksmith plans and hardcore hellfire ring parts

    Evening Nephalem

i'm planning to come back into UEE at some point in the future (i finally got sick of the crap drop rates for legendaries in the vanilla version) anyway i'm planning to take the plunge and make a hardcore character. so i was hoping that somebody would be willing to trade me some hardcore mode hellfire ring components and infernal machine keys, and some blacksmith plans for hard and softcore modes

it's not the level 70 versions i'm after (yet anyway) i'm just looking to get a head start on parts for the level 1 version of the ring with some devil's fangs, vengeful eyes, writhing spines and the keys of destruction, hate and terror in hardcore

unfortunately the only things i have that might be of value for the trade hardcore trade are some pre-60 blacksmith plans and a scattering of level 60 and lower legendaries

however it's a different story with softcore. i have a wide spread of set and legendary items to trade, including a kridershot, gryfalcon's foote and jekangboard crusader shield and some half decent sources that i like

posted a message on The RNG Thread!

I've been playing vanilla diablo 3 and ps3 UEE off and on for a little over a year.

i originally got the vanilla version as a test the Christmas before last to decide whether or not i wanted UEE. but about 6 months ago i decided to go back to the vanilla version to get the trophies, some paragon levels and go back into UEE with 5 level 60 heroes, 100 paragon levels and a spread of legendaries and set items.

thus far i've achieved half of those goals. i've got 5 level 60 heroes, 16 paragon levels and i'm 2 trophies short of the full list.

the only problem i'm having. is with getting the legendaries.

over the last few days i've taken my demon hunter, barbarian and monk on test runs with my new crafted gear in inferno master 1 difficulty (remember i'm still playing the original version, so no comments about what inferno is please) i managed to survive and between the barbarian and the demon hunter i got 10 legendaries in 2 runs. nothing stellar but even with my inferno master 1 magic find boost, the boost from my paragon levels and the limited amount of magic find i have on my gear (i had to make some sacrifices for stats and properties on crafted gear) i was barely pushing 350% magic find.

and with that 300 off percent i went into the monk last nite for a farming run in act 3. i went onto the first snowfield area to get 3 nephalem valors and then hit stonefort, skycrown battlements, the keep depths 1 + 2 + 3, the fields of slaughter. and the ENTIRETY of arreat crater, from the first level all the way to the core. and what did i get for all my trouble?

    TWO STINKING LEGENDARIES

i know it seems like i'm just griping but this is about more than just the crap drops during the farming run last night. i've been getting lousy drops with the monk for months. no matter how much magic find i pump into the monk. even at the detriment of my other stats. no matter what i do i just cant seem to get a decent drop with the monk and it's PISSING ME OFF.

i'm beginning to think that if i want to get anything resembling a decent farming run with the monk i'm going to have to use the other classes to shoot up the paragon levels and then come back for the monk later. which to be honest wouldn't bother me in the least. the time i've spent working at the monk has given me a deep seated hatred of the class thanks to the crap rng i've been getting with him.

now that i've gotten my rant over with. i just finished watching a video on youtube which disproves what i thought about there being a 300% magic find cap in the vanilla version. therefore. i'm beginning to think that my theory about needing to shoot for paragon 50 or 100 and then start doing farming runs with the monk is correct.

so. thoughts? opinions? suggestions? comments about how much of an idiot i am?

posted a message on PS3 Vanilla - How Does the Paragon System Work?

title says it all. aside from my barbarian, all my other characters are at level 50 and ready for hell mode (i started into nightmare with the barbarian this evening)

however as i edge closer to hell mode and level 60 with all 5 classes i'm seeing myself running out of hero slots since i have a few mule characters i want to keep. and i want to keep the monk and the wizard cause i HATE playing those classes. so the less i have to play them to get the achievements for 2 level 60 monks and wizards in UEE the better. that means i'll need to do some deleting

so my question is thus. if i get a few paragon levels with 1 character (say my monk) will i have those levels with the other character (and more specifically, how will the paragon levels affect characters below level 60?)

posted a message on PS3 Vanilla - Prep For Inferno - What Do I Need To Do

I already have the Ultimate Evil Edition. i'm just playing the vanilla version for trophies before I move over to UEE with a crapload of legendaries and 7 level 60 characters (1 of each plus an extra for the monk and the wizard which I HATE playing.) i'm also thinking of doing a hardcore character too.

i'm just trying to figure out how to increase my chances of survival in Inferno mode and the only thing that comes to mind is the same thing i did in my playthru of UEE on torment. lots of vitality and life per second and try for crit chance and crit damage.

posted a message on PS3 Vanilla - Prep For Inferno - What Do I Need To Do

title says it all. i'm nearly finished my first set of runthrus of nightmare difficulty in the Vanilla Version for the ps3 (i'm planning on doing 2 batches of characters up to level 60 for the triumph achievments and trophies before I go into UEE again)

my general plan right now is to get my current set of characters up to level 60 and then set them up for farming in hell mode to build up paragon levels and stock up on legendaries. while i work my way up to 60 again one character at a time

however i read somewhere that you need to do some prep work before you tackle inferno because the difficulty settings are different.

so other than having crit chance, crit damage, life per second and vitality. what should I do to prepo for my descent into the abyss?
