The tallying and numbers game is all handled server side, so yes that emulated server totally did make up some math and numbers just to make a "demo" playable. That info is not kept in the client data.

    Also a note on hypocrisy:
    To antitrepublican -
If you show a random emulated video, and call it proof (based on the costs and how a skill acts, especially on an emu server), please don't turn around when you see the next video that AMOUNTS TO THE SAME THING and say "so what? That proves nothing." It offends my sensibilities.

posted a message on Questions to Blizzard
I've seen alot of talk lately about the size of hitboxes on enemies and whether or not their size is based on your current ping. Since I don't believe Blizzard has said anything specific about this I think it'd be great to get a straight answer!

If its possible i'd like to be able to use my b.net account info (since this will be a guide hosted by blizzard) and access my character info via the guide. It could use the paper doll system, and allow you to see changes in your dps, armor, and other stats by swapping out equipment.

If they can do this then a D3 "dress up" guide isnt that far off.

posted a message on Battle net2.0 playing with friends in the same room
Forcing us to connect to battlenet just to play is still terrible. LAN play is so convenient, not to mention there is never lag. Now i'll be forced to play it with lag constantly every single time. This is an added hassle to the player (read CONSUMER) in the name of anti-piracy. How about this instead: use a system with cd keys, and force a one time login to battlenet to verify it's authenticity. Encrypt the whole process, then add a software watermark that gets changed and updated with every patch. This is a winning solution because it doesn't add any headaches for the buyer and keeps pirates away from multiplayer. If you must be signed in to battlenet to play single player then blizzard just lost a customer, at least until a crack for LAN play comes out which i will grab immediately.

An Ah is a great idea IMO, but an option to request face-time over the ah with a seller for item to item trading doesn't seem to be a bad idea.

The main problem i see with a single AH is that players are forced to make narrow searches in order to get mangeable results.

I'm a little confused... When you say the words "narrow" and "mangeable" (lol) aren't they synonymous with each other? Like a narrow search range gives you a narrow range of results? Did you slip something in my water? Wait let me test this... I'll just say the opinion you implied and see if it's more or less crazy than this.

"The main benefit i see without a single AH is that players are forced to make broad searches in order to get results, manageable or not. Usually for hours at a time."

    Nope. You're insane.

You can make as many save slots as you want. The data amount for a single save is not additive, so 120kb for a pso game is plenty. Also, Tactics is freaking sweet. I have cats named Agrias and Ramza.

posted a message on What do you think about Cooldowns in PvE
2 minutes is a long time if you're just constantly running from mob to mob blasting and raping and pillaging... but there are things besides hacking and slashing in this hack and slash game. Maybe I'm being stupid, but I'm going to be doing other things. Like picking up weapons and armor. Or scavenging materials from items. Or finding those pesky gems we only need a million of to craft the best tier. You know... silly things that you'd probably do if you actually HAD to use that tier 7 skill with the MASSIVE 2 minute cooldown on a group of hard enemies. Oh wait. I can use my skill again!? That took FOREVER!!!!!

posted a message on Demon Hunter Summon/Minion
I voted for a single demon type minion. I think splitdogg had a good idea with the being able to tame a demon of your choice from the enemies you fight although I'm not sure how they'd implement that. Seems like alot of work for one skill although level progression is solved already: if your demon is too weak nab another one at your level. They'd probably go with a simple summon though and it seems like the simplest solution. As for its characteristics I'd really like to see something quick and agressive that is more of a disposable decoy than a tank or damage dealer. As far as Bartuc goes, The DH is supposed to be resilient to demonic magic so I think she'd be fine having demons under her control with no negative outcome. In closing, I want this to be like every other skill: Useful but not necessary.

Stat bonuses from leveling are automatic and based on your class. Did you mean you'd stack Vitality from gear?

Common sense tells me they will scale properly based on PVE. I also believe that runes will change the summoning game a bit too (mana effiency, changing damage types, maybe adding stats like health and armor to pets...) but i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah voodoo dolls sound pretty cool for the witchdoctor. I also really liked manmountain's idea for bound entities. I think a snake would be cool if like floated around her hand and looked cool. It should look more metallic though, like a living item. The flower was a cool idea too. Specialized one of a kind items are neat way to add more variety in the game.

I like the idea. I think it would make more sense in the hands of the wizard though, as study is an integral part of learning magic. If it did act as a shield, I think it would be cool for the block animation to look magic based, like a flash of blue light or something equally cool.
    I like loud visuals :)

I don't like it. I makes sense for dark dungeons or enemies that are behind architecture, but I have used a computer and mouse before. I know through experience that the thingy my arrow is on will open when I click it. Or die in this case.

The idea for a higher chance of a drop was really what I want. Say you kill a. Sword weilding skelly, well he has a 5% better chance of dropping a sword, any sword. And while fashionable, the unburied could still drop other things than pants.. I'm thinking it eats adventurers whole...
