Ugh I can't believe how many people want a gear swapper. I have a feeling they're a little tired of switching it out themselves, and haven't gotten a macro to do it for them yet to still realize that it's a stupid mechanic that ruins the flow of the game.
Like seriously, people will be getting mad or crying noob when a player in a pub game doesn't have an mf set on switch. It'll become customary to swap into mf gear after every single elite and boss fight.

Are you guys kidding me? Honestly.

Hang on, hang on a sec! Are people honestly saying the swapping gear at the last second is fun?

That's why I created a macro to do it for me, because it's tedious and not fun at all.

    Option 4 please.

The primary source of the information was updated (see: forums on official community site). That would be like saying you can't believe they are doing road construction right outside your house, when it was in the newspaper that they would be working on your street for the next 1-2 weeks, and you are appalled because you were not directly informed. The information was provided, you just chose not to read the primary source of said information.
It's more like the road workers often work on your road at nights, while you're trying to sleep. They have a sign that they update (supposedly regularly) about the current status of the roads and when they're going to be working on them. It's right in front of your house so it's in plain view, and you know to be prepared for a noisy night ahead when they do announce when they'll be working.
Instead, they decide to not use the sign altogether (without warning) and announce it in their newsletter that you never read - I mean, why would you? You have a sign right there that should be telling you all you need to know about the construction schedules.

Yeah Number1337 is right. Even though you get more mf, you lose precious time when trying to kill mob with mf gear. I personally die a lot when i change my gear in last seconds.
But the rest of us are doing it right and switching to mf, killing the elite or boss quickly, then switching back in a matter of seconds.

And I find it stupid and ruins the flow of the game. I'm glad Blizz is going to do something about this..

And its also basic programming to find ways to remove the cap of such things. For example: he could use a unsigned 64Bit Integer instead of 32 Bit. That would mean everyone is be able to earn 18.446.744.073.709.551.615 Gold before reaching the cap! Could take a while, to reach this cap! Even for a korean...
They would most likely have forced a cap just so the digits don't go off the screen. It doesn't seem as though 12 digits (trillions) can be fit onto the display with the current font used for gold.

Why would you except a cap? Just because there was in D2 where gold was nearly useless? :P
It's not that I accept a cap, but that I know one exists somewhere ;)

posted a message on Blizzard, can you please write 22:00 GMT instead of 3:00 p.m. PDT for Europe?
I once witnessed an American saying that MM/DD/YYYY is more logical because that's how you say it - June the 12th, 2012.

    I just couldn't stop laughing!

    lol IQ?

Obviously, if a new player starts practicing pvp he'll eventually get good at it. What this guy is saying and you are failing to understand is that a completely NEW player will get crushed in the arenas IN THE BEGINNING from players that have been playing since release, even if he buys gear.
    Yes, lol IQ indeed...

What's the point in comparing newbs to veterans? Wouldn't it make more sense to be comparing two players of roughly equal skill and time invested in the game?
And then my point stands - for two players that are roughly equally skilled in gaming, if one were to spend their time farming for gear while the other bought their gear outright and spent their time PvP'ing instead, the PVPer will clearly have an advantage.

Twisting this basic fact around by claiming that the farmer will have spent much time playing the game while the buyer is new to the game is like comparing apples with oranges.

Yes, you will. You will understand what abilties do, how they work together if they do, timings of things like meteor,

Are you saying, if a scrub plays a wizard and decides to use meteor, arcane orb, disintegrate, ray of frost, magic missle and energy armor is going to do well in pvp, all those spells are arcane power dumps except two... he may like them due to them all dealing nice damage, but what do you do when you have to wait for arcane power to rise, get shat on because you have no defensive cooldowns, no escapes.

Gear =/= skill, Yes gear DOES help you do better, but if you're shit, gear won't make you go pro.
So you'll become a better PvP player by practising with your skills in PvM rather than in PvP?
    lol ok.

You're right, there is a power for money thing going here, and it will effect PvP, but not the way you think. The people who earn their gear are going to be extremely good at using their character from having to have farmed act 3/4 inferno for hours upon hours. On the other hand, you can ding to level 60, spend $100 and get a badass character, but you'll get DESTROYED in PvP because PvP is going to have a matchmaking system similar to Starcraft 2. This means the people who are legitimately badass and good at playing their character will have a massive advantage from those who just bought it and jumped right in.
Please. Are you trying to tell me that if I spent my time farming for my items I'll be more skilled than if I spent my time in PvP after having skipped the farming process by just buying my items?

posted a message on It's so obvious when someone spent real-life money on their items.
OP, I understand where you're coming from mate. I've been against the RMAH ever since it was first announced.
And no, not because I care if the troll ranting in general chat is decked out in bought gear, but because of how it's a much more convenient and time saving approach to getting what you want.

It's been mentioned even in this thread that some people get their fun out of buying gear, while others get the fun out of playing the game.
Well, what I find fun (and I'm sure many others do too because this is what drives many of us to farm) is to become rich in the game. You want all those pretty items, but they're always so far out of reach - so you spend hours upon hours farming, searching for deals on the AH, and playing as optimally as you can afford to muster.
But then the RMAH comes along and tempts you into buying millions of gold for less than an hour's worth of your job's pay.

And please don't tell me that buying that gold for money was an option even in D2. In D2 you had to go out of your way to find a site, you had to trust your credit card info with them, and then run the risk of being scammed or worse.

The RMAH makes it easy and affordable, and goes against the spirit of games. I sincerely hope it crashes and burns, just so other gaming companies in the future don't start copying Blizzard on this endeavour.

I actually don't feel like this amount of money is all that unreasonable. Let's say he rushed to inferno on DH or Wizard, and had an intelligent/consistent farming strategy and has been able to get a slew of high quality items.
Let's break down 1 billion gold in D3 right now. That's selling 50 items for 20mil gold each. I would say that that is not incredibly unreasonable for someone who has been farming inferno 3-4 early. Considering I am sure he has done WAY more than 50 auctions, although most of them probably for less than 20 million, idk why people are freaking out about 1.4 billion. It's just consistent dedication.
If you actually look at the number from where D3 stands now, I think it is impressive, but reasonable.
Or, a more likely scenario is he is botting and/or gathered up all the gold him and his friends had onto 1 account, took the video, then transferred it back.

I'm actually quite amazed that the cap is even higher than 1.4B. I mean, I expected it to cap somewhere in the hundred millions.
