It's really refreshing to see new, mature faces being introduced to the Diablo universe rather than your hardcore bnet kids. Welcome to the franchise. You won't be disappointed.
Thanks for the welcome, I got discouraged from several games due to the overwhelming amount of immature players. I guess there is just a time and a place for what people want to experience. Very excited to try Diablo, I love crypts and tombs and all that jazz , looks like this could be right up my alley ;).
Battle.net works pretty easy. You login, and you'll see all of your characters. You can then select the one you want to play with. After that you can either go to the list where some games are shown. There are always hundreds of games functional at the same time, So this list shows quite a large amount of games. You can also create a game yourself. You can give it a name so that people know what the game is made for. For example trading or questing. You can also give the game a password, then the game won't be shown in the gamelist. But if you tell your friends your password and gamename they can easily join your game.
Oh yeah, the world in Diablo is never the same. The maps are always random generated. So unlike WoW you will never know the exact route to bosses and quest locations.
Thanks for the explanation, that sounds really awesome. Sounds like it won't be too hard to pick up a casual, fun group if that is what I'm looking for. I'm getting pretty excited for this game, the game play looks and sounds :cool: like a ton of fun.

Now my question is do you need to "log on" together to play as a group, or is there an interface function that lets you pick people up as you go?
One thing I did love about WOW was some of the group play when you were able to find some nice mature people, I'm not one to schedule my gameplay so I'm hoping Diablo is flexible in that sense.
I have never played Diablo but D3 looks amazing and I plan on getting it when it comes out. I have seen the D3 walk through video on the Blizz site and at the end it shows a group of classes fighting. Is this other people in the game or NPCs? I have played MMOs like WOW and LOTRO, in Diablo can you meet up with people the same way to run a dungeon?
Can someone clear up the multiplayer aspect of Diablo for me?
