Following the advice I got on these forums last week, I have made a lot of progression.

As it stands, I can do up to grift 42 consistently (even the map with the damn bees).

I'm sure I could do up to 45 on a decent map with good density.

I would rather look at improvements I can make in my build and gear before I try pushing higher.

Here is a link to my wizard: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Sundip-1545/hero/61720778

I have a rather mediocre TnT in my stash, but no SS. I've had some people tell me that the hydra build is the way to go regardless of whether I have SS or not, but that just doesn't feel right (although I haven't tried it yet).

I just acquired my aether walker last night before I logged, so I haven't had a chance to really test out some builds that run teleport yet.

Also, I have been gambling on helmet atm because I figured I would start going for the ancient tal rasha pieces while I try to get SS from drops.

Loot Share (LS)-When you're in a group people give other people the gear they don't need. So you're better off joining a group with 3 other wizards since you all will get gear for your class.

I'm assuming you're on the computer....go to the bottom right and click on the button. You see a community box/window/button. Once you get to that area you want to search for 'wizard' and join the large US Wizard community. You then can join the chat channel. There are also communities for rifts and grifts depending if you're playing season or non-season. Sorry if the explanation isn't clear but they changed the UI this past patch and I forget, which of the vertical buttons it is.

That was very helpful, thank you.

I look forward to trying this when I get home from work.

Once you get the gear 35+, 40+, 45+. 50+ grifts are better for blood shards. For now I would stick with running regular rifts in public games (better magic find if you have a full group) on T6. At this point you should get grouped with someone who can carry the entire group if you're struggling. If you want to try grifts you can but its probably only worth it at this point to level legendary gems to 25.

If you join the US Wizard community there are often people running loot share groups. It's a good way to meet fellow people and get gear with other wizards.

Would you mind explaining what loot share is?

Also, how would I go about joining the wizard community? Up until now, I've either played solo, or had my friend run me through T6 rifts and bounties.

No do not gamble for weapons or jewelry. Armor has better odds...working on getting all your tal pieces...be patient.

I guess I will keep gambling for the armor pieces and hold onto the tal rasha off hand until something comes along.

I was wondering what the best way to farm blood shards would be?

Do I run rifts over and over, or is it more efficient in greater rifts?

Should I be gambling for weapons?

I need a decent 1h wep because I got tal rasha offhand, but cannot get any weapons to drop.

I got an Ancient Legendary Corrupted Ashbringer that I am using atm, but every build I look up seems to have some ideal 1h/offhand weapon combo.

    Slow rolling the Grifts:

When you start Greater Rifts, you will receive a Legendary Gem. This will happen until you have all of them either in your personal inventory or in your stash.

Normally 1 per finish. If you finish the Grift under the time limit, you get the option to upgrade the either the gem or the keystone.

If you finish with more than 4 min 30 second on the clock you will skip levels.

The fastest way to get all the legendary gems is to slow roll. Basically you start at Tier 1 and advance 1 Tier at upgrade.

So you want want to go to the trials and leave immediately. The clock will keep ticking while you are in town. When the timer end, you will get a Tier 1 Keystone. Enter the rift, and the monsters will be really easy to kill. For the most part they are Level 1 Monsters so they hardly have any Hitpoints.

Kill them until you get to the high 90% completion, but, do not actually get to 100%. Take note of how much time is left on the timer. Leave, do something else. Possibly a bounty if short. Otherwise make progress on one of them. The most important thing to do is return to Town by way of the Waypoint that you exited when you got to the bounty location. DO NOT use your teleport (read do not press Ctrl+T). If you teleport this will replace the one you created when you exited the Grift. So you will have to walk from the entrance back to where you left off. Return with about 5 Minutes left on the clock. But don't kill the Rift Guardian until under 4:30 is on the clock. After you kill the boss, Urshi will give you an option to get a keystone. If you did this right, you will only progress 1 Tier.

I don't recommend doing this for all the Gems. It takes a long time. But, do it until you get 1 of the gems you want. After you get the 1st gem you are looking for , go ahead and upgrade the gem. The rest of the gems will eventually drop while you are upgrading your 1st gem. The thing you should know is that to get a 100% chance for upgrade, you have to complete a Tier 10 ranks higher than your gem. So if you want 100% chance to get all 3 chance to upgrade your gem, you have to complete GR Tier 13. If you only do a Tier 11, the first upgrade will be 100%, then 2nd will be 90%, and the 3rd is 80%. So, do try to complete 10 higher than the gem you intend to upgrade. GR Tier 25 is close to Torment 6. There are 10 difficulties so every 2.5 GR Tiers will be about the difficulty. So GR3 is close to Hard and GR 5 is close to Expert...

You will reach a point where your gear won't support 100% upgrades. Try to get at least even with the GR Tier to the Gem Rank. This will be a 60% chance. There are a whole bunch of 60% upgrades. At 60%, you have about a 95% probability to get at least 1 upgrade in the 3 chances given. A lot of times you will get all 3, since each chance is a little better than a coin flip. The chances get ugly when you are upgrading from GR Tier lower than the Gem Rank. But, I've gotten the upgrade with 8% chances. But, if you complete it under the 15 minutes, it might be better to upgrade your keystone to increase your odds of getting a gem upgrade.

    Thanks for the great info.

Do you get gear drops from greater rifts as well, or just regular rifts?

Ok, I've got some keys saved up so I will try rifts when I get home.

What should I be spending my blood shards on?

Alright, so I quit playing D3 back when the RMAH was still a thing.

My buddy convinced me to try Reaper of Souls, so I went ahead and bought it.

I had originally planned on playing through the campaign and relearning everything.

He convinced me to make a seasonal character and then powerleveled me to 70 and ~paragon80.

The only problem is, I don't really know how to gear myself up now since everything is so new.

While running me through content, I was lucky enough to get 2pieces of tal rasha set.

My friend is gonna be away for about a week, and I was wanting to gear myself up a bit before he gets back.

Originally, I was gonna post this to general forum, but since I'm playing a wizard, maybe I should be asking here.

    What do I do now?

    Thnx

Edit: I read the sticky and don't know how outdated the information is :0
