That's great you liked Last Angel =D Kow Otani is an epic composer and he always makes something great anytime he picks up his pencil.

I'm not at liberty to answer most of your questions but here are my guesses.
The open fifth chord on the 12 strings will most probably return (Tristram Theme). My guess is musically speaking, it is the most important chord in Diablo and it is so much embedded in the game, I would definitely wager that it will be back. Pity Laurence Juber screwed up the chord in Blizzcon 2008. To me, that was the biggest sin a musician can ever make against this game.

New pieces and full soundtrack to hit the shelves? I have no idea. We were hired to create the huge announcement Overture which has been used in every single character announcement so far. Again, my guess is we're probably going to have wait a good while, music recording is usually one of the last thing you work on in a game.

I hope these answers help you.

    Yup I totally agree.
This is just a personal opinion, so not "official".

After Matt's departure from the Diablo team, Russell Brower took over the project. His style is simply very different from Matt's. And that just reflects on the music we made.

I personally am a BIG fan of the original Diablo, but from years of experience recording and producing soundtracks and music performances, I want to give Russell a chance.

Remember, us artists can only be ourselves. It may sound strange and unfamiliar, but this is Russell's playground now. It's also his intent to make it work in the best possible manner, which is "his" way, not Matt's.

"Last Angel" is not an "official" track from Diablo III, only the Overture is. It is the multi award winning composer Kow Otani's interpretation of Diablo III. Did you guys like it?

    Quote from "Xabanak" »
Is it just me, or did they royally screw up Tristram? That abomination makes me want to cry.

The echo sounds really crappy, the oboe/clarinet sounds terrible and unfitting, the guitar part that used to kick Tristram into gear is now really slow as if the guitarist can't play it any faster. A ways in, the strings drown out the guitar.

I honestly have never been so revolted at a song in my life. This shakes my entire foundation of belief in Blizzard.

WHERE THE #$&#& IS MATT ULEMEN?!

This is a re-arrangement, not the original.
Also, the tempo marking is what was set by Blizzard, and it's not that the guitarist can't play faster, that's the actual tempo we record to clicktrack. Also Russell Brower and myself was there for the direction of the mixing of these tracks and we felt they were balanced.

Oh, and Matt Uelmen did like the recording.

I think it basically comes down to people's tastes. If you like to stick with the original, that's fine. If you want to hear it in a new way, that's fine too. I'm sorry it didn't suit you. If you want to talk about quality, that's a different matter.

    Hi guys,

I'm sorry about this, we will be starting pre-orders for a new standard edition which will be manufactured in US for better value for customers based in North America at the end of this month. So instead of paying for such a high price tag for posting, you will be only be paying for domestic postage cost.

I hope this will excite our fans in the US/EU.

As soon as we have approval from Blizzard, we will post the NEW cover artwork.

    Thank you!

    Hi Eldius,

If you have ordered within the first week of anouncement, you should receive the product within 1~3 weeks from today. There's been a lot of orders so it's been hard to keep up >.<

    ***

    Hey SithDiablo,

Our music is not short. It's just over 90 minutes - spanning over 2 discs, with the arrangements by celebrity arrangers/composers the production have cost well over music production Playstation 3 game titles. Actually, the budget is roughly 10 times the amount in comparison to a project we did for Bandai Namco Games - Soul Calibur IV. The packaging is also quite sturdy and well built.

I guess you wont really know whether you think it's worth it till you see it and hear it. There is no way we could even hope to make the same product for half the price, we wish we could! =(
