Oct 27, 2011DieHardBastionFan posted a message on To Pillar or Not to PillarIt looks incredibly silly. It they do go through with it, I hope they make it grow out of the ground much slower. Maybe small monsters can get stuck above it until it explodes. I think the tackiest aspect of the pillar is how it pushes enemies away when it's summoned. Had the spider toppled over instead of moved to the side, it would've looked much better (inversion FTW). Maybe a "rumbling" sound might help. All in all, make it feel more powerful or remove it altogether.Posted in: News

Random music is awesome, and I'm glad they are bringing back the iconic music from the previous games. -

Well there are a few skills for the DH that say 'fire bullets' and the like (ie Evasive Fire). The datamined items also make no mention of guns, so I think/hope its only referring to certain skills.
Let's hope this is true
EDIT: Monks have no cooldowns whatsoever? That's awesome
EDIT 2: The armors look much better. -

I also disagree that toggle always gives the most control. When you quickly want to see what it on the ground you often only need to press it for less than a second unless there has been a major battle, because the colors of the different quality levels should be very easy to identify. In that situation the classic solution is better because there is only a total of one key press instead of two.
What you're highlighting there is the classic solution's efficiency in terms of key presses, not the amount of control it gives. The toggle system gives the most control, because it's on exactly when you want it to be, and it's off exactly when you want it to be. If that's not perfect control, I don't know what is.
... So is the classic. -

Oh man, this was a major gripe for me. The primaries should obviously be Fire/Cold/Lightning/Arcane. Instead we get two lightnings. That was clearly because the division of skills into "tiers" was done late into development.

That has almost everything you want for any affix, not just IAS. The only thing not there are the pre-60 gear stats.

A way to do this in D3 would be, whenever you get a rune unlocked, to have the option to choose which one among the runes of your unlocked skills do you want. Having to wait till lvl 56 for mammoth Hydra only to realize it wasn't viable that far into the game was a drag.
Also, multiple Hydras.

Also, the dev teams are split from now on, so the console and PC version can have different patches.

Then make it so you keep the animal form of whichever skill you used last. You start the game as the animal associated with the starting skill and, voila! No more human form! This could be an issue since item appearance becomes irrelevant, unless they implement armor in each animal form, which is a bit excessive in my opinion.
It would be immensely more work than the other characters (a different walk/everything animation for each animal) but I would play a character like that forever.

This would require a buttload of animations, one for each transition, but if done right could look amazing.
