Now, remember that magazines take a while to publish, and that interview was likely done months ago, unless the date of the interview is footnoted and way off what I'd expect it to be, I'd expect them to be 25% done by now.
Blizzard has been good to us by even telling us as much as they did, so any attempt to ask them about their progress will only slow them down.

But since he already has an 8800gt, wouldn't it make more sense to just get another one of those, and SLI them?
Just selling it, paying tax and shipping would eat up any monetary gain from selling it. I bought my 8800gt(s) when they were $300, selling them for $100 each now would make no sense, esp. to 'upgrade' to a weaker card.
Anyway, I agree, SLI is in my opinion, a solution looking for a problem. (Also, from what I've seem, SLI sets don't oc as well as single cards.)
    Keep your 8800gt, it's a fine card.
My 8800GS is a good card for folding, but I haven't gamed on it. The shaders like to OC a lot more than the GT, but it has less of them.
My asus EN9800GT ultimate ownz them both. (More shaders yet, and they OC higher than my 8800GS.) Yes, it's a rebadged 8800gtx, but with a fast factory OC, it beats a stock 8800gtx.
That, in my opinion, is the best bang for the buck (Currently.) from nvidia. Yes, it's a 2 slot card. The ultimate model has the 'extra' shaders over the regular 9800gt.
Would I yank out a prefectly good 8800GT and put that in there for an upgrade? No, of course not. So replacing it with a weaker card makes less sense. Or 2 of them. (Makes less sense yet.)
We don't even know if diablo 3 will see any improvement from SLI. Way too soon to tell. They don't have a retail product yet.
I just didn't want anybody to automatically assume that any 9 series card will be an upgrade to a 8800gt.
Nvidia's policy of rebadging makes it very confusing for some (Uninformed.) customers.

Sell that 8800GT, buy a 9600GT for the same price you sold this one, buy another 9600GT for SLI (if it's what you really wanted), or just buy 2x 9600GSO's 384 or 768 mb versions and overclock the shiznich out of 'em.
Or better yet, don't sell the 8800GT and wait for the next generation of GPU's.

    8800GT>9600GT.
    8800GT>9600GSO
    9600GSO=8800GS
Don't give advise that's incorrect, please.

posted a message on redesigning health globes
    Quote from "Shadowdragon85" »
you talking that the blood blob come out of no where then you haven't been paying attention when you played D2.

Example: your fighting a Quill Rat and once you killed it it drops gold and a sword. Now how in hell did that Quill Rat have a sword and gold on it

The health globes are there to make the game more challenging. If the game was more realistic then you won't be able to pick up loot when you kill your enemy except if they are wielding that item.

    Finally, some perspective.
It's a game, let the designers handle the game mechanics.

It would be sweet if D3 supported physX AND havok, kinda like D2 supported glide and DirectX.
(ahh, what would 3dFX have come up with in the last few years if they were around.)

I must be confused as to what havok is.
    (Ripped from wikipedia)
In February 2008, NVIDIA bought Ageia and the PhysX engine and is integrating it into its CUDA framework, which already has multiple drivers for Linux, effectively rendering the PhysX add-in card redundant. With Intel's cancellation of Havok FX, PhysX is currently the only available solution for physics hardware acceleration
    (Ripped from wikipedia)
This was in it's entry on physX.
Please someone clear up my confusion.
Is havok something different from havokFX?

I have a few quick questions about D3.
Sorry if they have been dealt with before, I just joined.
These are directed at anyone that knows the answers. Now then.

If I understand it right, havokFX was bought, then discontinued.
Will this affect the release date?

posted a message on hello from the great white north.
I play and have played almost everything from quake 3, diablo LOD, to BF2, hellgate london, and occasionally, the UT series (Though I'm not much good at it.)
I'm a member of a BF2 clan, and a folding team, though I'm more active at folding than BF2 at the moment.
