"Dear mister Knaak, there currently is a HUGE discussion about wether we/I should spam up your inbox or not. Can you please help the good people at Diablofans.com by giving us a definite answer that would clear up this crucial question wich as of now still holds the entire community in its claw-like grip. Thank you"
Gotta admit tho... That'd be a fckin awesome mail to start the day with.

They probably stick more to 1 well thought out idea posted in a single thread, than one kids wish list that is updated every time his brain twitches. Beyond that the ideas seem pretty ho-hum anyways. Filter: who cares Corpses staying: why should the game be bogged down by corpses way back in the act you will never see again. Portal Animation: who cares

Ideas that actually add to balance/gameplay are much more interesting.

ALLRIGHT, so that's my D3 frickin wishlist. But if a D3 employee happens to read it and like some idea, I WOULDN'T MIND!
I never expecetd to get such shit thrown in my face for posting in this forum. :o

Animation: Who cares? I care! It's a small detail that add to the richness of details that i hope for in this game. It cant be weighed down by such irrealism that a summoned portal just randomly appears from nowhere at some point near the player :)

    No.

    You're not right.

Taken from my other post in the other thread which you got this idea from:

I don't want to play a game that looks like it's been run through the washing machine 100 times.

    Problems with the screenshot:

    • Reduction of color. People always think that making the game "more like D2" means making the game have no more than 3 colors, two of which being either grey or black. Besides, the graphical leap from D1 to D2 was overwhelming, are you trying to hold back progress?

    • Addition of some shitty filters. Granted, some people enjoy the "grunge" look, but I want to play my games without Photoshop's Noise filter and a texture applied to the images. No other blizzard game has or is currently utilizing these "features", so perhaps that's something to consider.

(Besides, these filters don't "add to the realism". Do real images have such grain and terrible contrast and desaturation to them? No. These filters don't do anything but take AWAY from the experience.)

    • Increased contrast, decreased brightness. Yeah, I want my blacks to become like an amorphous blob, swallowing all in their proximity. Oh, I also want any light source (or bright color) to be completely blown out and lose any semblance of definition or detail.

The idea and screenshot are a load of FAIL.

I think the original image looks blue-ish and clay-like whilst the new image looks dramatic and scary. And allso i suggested that this filter-effect be toogleable in the graphics options.

Oh and btw, one can reply to a post without being to... mean :(

It would be totally frickin awesome to be able to slay a horde of dousins of zombies, the sling some kickass fireball into the mess of corpses having them fly everywhere.
    Does nobody agree to this!?

Donno if blizzard employees reads these threads, but it would be cool if they read this and considered it for the game.

THIS LIST IS UPDATED EVERY TIME I COME UP WITH SOMETHING

    Toogleable filter on frames
It would really be awesome for the visual effects of the game if the game engine could throw on a filter over the rendered frames. For example here (images taken from another thread)

I am very sure that the "should have been" image was fixed up by a few photoshop filters like change of contrast and brightness, as well as some color adjustment.
I think there should be a toogleable option for powerfull computers to apply that filter over rendered frames in the frame buffer. I mean seriously, it upps the realism by 400% at least!

Corpses. Yes, i know... But please read this
I know there has been discussion about the corpses dissapearing in the game before, but i really wanted to kick in my opinion about the matter.
I think the corpses shouldn't fade away at all! It would be totally frickin awesome to be able to slay a horde of dousins of zombies, the sling some kickass fireball into the mess of corpses having them fly everywhere.
As in the dungeon in the gameplay trailer, where the barbarian in the beginning slaughtered all those ghouls. I imagines that the barbarian would walk knee-high in corpses that reacted to his bounding-box and got flunged around and outside the edge.
And i know that it would be stress for the computer but seriously, PC's are gettin pretty powerfull. And if some old computer couldnt handle all the corpses, they could allways turn the "object model detail" down to "low".

Portal summoning animationI think the animation for the creation of town portal should be much riches. I'm not much of a fan of the portal just appearing next to me in diablo 2. It'd be really awesome if there was some kind of energy blast appearing from the hands of the player that results in the portal, or something like that. In diablo2 i used to (as sorceress) map the town portal to a mousebutton before i used it. That way i got the "casting animation" to create the portal. Made it 10000 times cooler.

    Am i right!?
