    Quote from Bagstone
Then you've met two people who give a shit about eras.
    And it's going to be more: many people don't want to give up on their gully-geared characters and run 500+ rifts just to re-gain all the augments they farmed in a previous season. If a season offers new items/a new "top set" that needs to be farmed again, one might be happy with the reset;
This pretty much sums up why I am starting to dislike seasons. That and the game has become a grind for paragon instead of a hunt for gear, lets face it, in the current season format, it takes around 25-30 hours of gameplay to hit lvl 70, get all your gems, and complete your full set with bounty mats to cube the needed items as well.

    That is just not fun.

Personally, what I would like is seasons to last 4 months, we have 3 in each year, or 3 in each era, meaning I also want era's to be 12 months in length. With this change, I would like drop rates to be lowered substantially to make the game about hunting for loot again instead of grinding for paragon. The current system makes 50% of the difficulty levels offered useless as well, so that needs to change. Items can be added to the game at the start of a new era, maybe 3 items for each class. Along with these new items every 12 months, it would offer new build concepts.

Really, what this game needs along with this is a complete soft reset of all data. This typically occurs during an expansion, but can we 100% rule out the possibility of them raising the level cap to 80, reworking/removing sets (or maybe adding the set bonus features as a cube option?) adding a few more zones, and adding a few more maps? I feel that they absolutely had a plan to release another Xpac, but at this point, I am not sure it makes sense. Instead, release the features in the current game via an extremely large patch, which will launch November 30th, giving season 8 around 6 weeks of game time, which is just right under the welfare seasonal system.

I have many things I can add, but this is becoming long enough the way it is haha.

LoL I always forget we have so many people with so much game developing experience here on DFans... so much knowledge ... Whoa

Well, to be fair you do not need developing experience, you need research analysis experience :)

If they filled today this director spot there will be no Diablo news in Blizzcon. They are not gonna anounce a project thats just 2 months old.

Lead Game Directors RARELY design a game from scratch. They typically take something that is 6 months to 2 years in progress and give it the fine tuning that their expertise allows.

Typically, the company says, "This is what we want, start designing it ASAP!!!" Then as I said above, they look for the perfect Director to add the much needed polish. Games do not work AT ALL like movies do. At least not for larger companies like Blizzard-Activision.

It is a lot cheaper to make a D3 expansion and with a few nice incentives it will still sell very well. If they will not release another EXP for diablo 3 one thing is clear they have no idea where to go with this game as time and time they have shown us.

Exactly, I can see it now:

"Pre-Order your copy of D3 Xpac2 and get this pet, these wings, this banner, and a Diablo Pet for WoW, Diablo card backs for Hearthstone, unlock all Diablo related skins in Heroes, AND unlock Tyrael's wings in Overwatch."

Even if Diablo 4 could be just speculation - rumors about it already points to how low Diablo 3 has fallen for the fan base. Fans wanting very drastic changes to the game makes it feel like an expansion isn't even worthy, so why not just create a whole new game?

Well, we heard this story regarding vanilla, and RoS made the game pretty darn good.

The issue is that the game they designed was not designed for long haul survival. They thought easier to obtain gear and seasons was going to keep people excited, instead, it literally DESTROYED THE CONCEPT OF THE GAME!!! Instead, the game should be centered around era's, maybe 6 months each, with lower drop rates, and the removal of sets, so that there are numerous build variations to attempt to succeed with.

Set powers can be added to the cube, making all gear slots viable and lowering drop rates of gear would go a long way to bringing life back to Diablo 3 with or without an expansion.

As long as newbs like you try to troll the topic, it is very obvious it has a future. Because even people that do not give a rats arse about the franchise sit and talk about it lmfao.

AKA, you are the only one looking like a fool!

posted a message on PTR is now up.

I still feel like this will be a longer PTR, and in connection, season 7 is going to be a longer season.

I feel this because to me it makes sense to hype up season 8 at Blizzcon with some major content patch updates, etc..... rather than release season 8 with minimal changes just before or the week of blizzcon.

We have plenty of datamined info to know that there is still plenty for the crew to add into the game that was well in development, will be interesting to see this implementation process.

posted a message on Diablo IV: Who is going to GamesCom?
    Quote from GaborSz»

Quin is at gamescom means nothing since basically hes the only professional stream who streams diablo.

Hell many where streaming only a patch last time (shinobi, Archon, Modz) at an event. Quin was there even on the last event, he streamed with Abby. Was there any announcement? no...

why dont you guys just wait 2 more days, and after that you can find out: is it worth to play D3 or not...

There is a difference between paying for a stream slot(a.k.a. Quin paying to attend and use a stream box), and being paid via free entry, flight, as well as board/room. Blizzard did not pay streamers in the past to attend a show.

Quin being the largest/most consistently populated D3 stream, as well as his outspoken manners toward the game make it a brilliant decision to get him involved with the scene. By paying for all expenses, they are going to bring in a steady crowd of fans along with it that will see something that will likely happen.

If I had to guess, we will get a sneak peak at Gamescom, something very subtle, something we may need to watch 3-4 times to even process the tease, and then we get the full display at Blizzcon.

Haya sums it up pretty well.

Just play the build you want, but keep in mind that you are most "efficient" when clearing a rift in 3-5 minutes.

Hi sorry I have one more question,

Can any item drop from bountie / rift / grift ?

or certain items only drop in certain places?

Some items (like Ring of Royal Grandeur) only drops from bounty chests (Act 1 for this ring). I'll update this post later with the item list

Thank you for the time and reply! I'm new to the game and just don't want to be hunting etc in the wrong bounties to find aload of wizard items when I should be hunting here for barbarian items if you understand what I mean? :)
The link AsagiD gave above me is exactly what you need to know.

Basically, the only items that drop in a specific place are the items you get from bounty cache's.

Otherwise whether you are on your barb, wiz, or whichever class you chose, you can get every needed legendary item from anything. Barrels, pots, weapon racks, chests, and of course the monsters all have a chance to drop legendary items for every class, no target hunting required.
