Sep 25, 2009Makenshi posted a message on What's Your Favorite Monk Skill?Tell me what's his best AoE skill and I'll vote for it.Posted in: News
Just as reference, my favored AoE skill in D2 is, of course, the Sorceress' Frozen Orb (I don't like meteor/blizzard becase the enemy can escape it)
If the monk has anything that work like Barbarian's smashing jump, I can vote for that as well -

That said, yes, I'd go for XBox. No installs, keys, DRMs, etc is a bless. -

Remove the merc limit of 1 and increase difficult for every merc the player gets (1 of each)!!!!!!!! I've always dreamed about playing off-line with an AI party!
Say... can someone post this there for me? I don't want to llok for my discs and create an account for a one time post -
Dec 12, 2008Makenshi posted a message on How is death handled in Diablo 3?Titan Quest had this, and it was a bless (no need to retrieve body). But it didn't mean death was just a minor setback, because the checkpoint was almost always at the entrance of the dungeon/level/area, and the tougher monsters/heavier mobs were always near the end, so dying meant long walks to get into the fight again.Posted in: News
Anyway, it was like Diablo 2, but without needing to run around like a chicken in order to get the body. It's good to see Diablo learning stuff from it's best clone. -

Any and everyone/everything that relates to Shadow of the Colossus in any way is surely to be made of win. That game is awesomeness incarnate just like Diablo. -

Aug 25, 2008Makenshi posted a message on 2008 Leipzig: Diablo 3 Bosses Dynamic ExplainedPosted in: NewsQuote from name="Medieval Dragon" »Quote from name=""Jay Wilson"" »It would be far more interesting if we could have a boss monster that wasn't just a giant sack of health that deals out ridiculous damage.
So you won't be fighting a lonely boss. You will fight a boss and a horde of mobs. The boss and the mobs won't do crazy damage, but lower your health at different paces. They are designed to do that with different abilities -- however, these mobs that help the boss engage you are there to supply you with health orbs to continue battling the boss.
Now people ... that's what I call genious. It is gonna be challenging, yes, hard. Yet entertaining and possible by using skills and tactics. And the best reward is you won't get carpal tunnel or have to port back to town to replenish health pots. Read the full interview
100% agreed MD, this guy is a genious. Bosses that 1 hit-kill, like Duriel, always were retarded, imo. Besides, no boss should act alone, it just doesn't suit evil guys - they're supposed to ALWAYS use cannon folder and dirty tricks to beat good guys.
And just to ice the cake, there's the logic: If I were Diablo, I'd camp in front of the Town Portal; Should the player come back, I'd use that imba fire beam and say "IMA FIRIN MA LAZOR!!!"
Quote from "InterrogatorChaplain" »... if there is a necro or a corpse-raising class, more corpses to use if he kills my pets!
I guess that's why they took the Necromancer away. It would be the ultimate imba! - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Everything that makes people say "wow, I'll never undress this one, not even for a bath" should look so amazing that only another equally powerful (and cool looking) piece can give a reason to remove it.
Also, I want to hug that ultra cute Hamtaro in your avatar! Hand him over!

Ask them if we'll be allowed to have more than 1 permanent merc/follower at once (in D2 we could only have one; getting the lancer in act 2 replace the archer from act 1 and so on).
At least in single player, I want to make my AI party when playing alone!

As the weapon which gives bonuses to skills (like Necro Wands and Heads), screw Blow Darts. What the WD needs is a pair of MARACAS!!! Chaka-chaka-bum, chaka-chaka-bum! Crazy'n scary voodoo tribal dances FTW!!!
Finally someone who sees reason! You have great potential, son!
