I'm all for rune words. I only hope that rune words will have their own unique skills something no other class has.

I fully endorse this product and/or service.

    especially enigma O_O

Hell. No. Enigma was completely broken, and it was designed that way. I will be completely pissed if something that powerful is in the game.

I'm all down for fewer points to max a skill. More diverse characters would be fun. I find it enjoyable to not have to plan around maxing 4 skills including synergies.

I'm all for rune words, so long as they aren't stupidly overpowered like the 1.10 ones. Also, a more reasonable drop rate would be nice, I had heard somthing about zod runes only droping on average once every 2 or 3 days across all the servers of a given realm. If thats even remotely true, it's pretty bad.

To clarrify one thing quickly with the Guild Wars system, everyone can see the item, but it is labeled as "Reserved for stueyman2099". No one else can touch it, but after a set ammount of time (couple minutes) the reserved tag is removed, and anyone may pick it up. Not nessecarily feasable with how many item drops we're likely to see in D3 compared to GW though.

On topic, I feel that there should be some system to remove high end items from the trading market, likely through making them "soulbound" (guild wars used the term customized) and to give palyers some sort of bonus.

    Possible example:

    Sword of Awesome
    Damage: 15-25
    +25% damage
    +5-15 awesome damage
    +10% increased attack speed
+10% damage (soulbound/customized/insert term here only)

The idea here is to give incentive to remove this item from the economy to keep it from flooding the market and keep rare items rare. Notice that the "soulbound" bonus isn't as good as the bonuses the sword already has, making it still reasonable to use even if you choose not to "soulbind" the item, but still very worth while to people who want to max their character. A vendor could perform this service for you to your items for a gold cost based on the items ilvl. This helps keep the gold economy in tact as well as the item economy.

(yes I know the font color changes, I couldn't find the defualt again after changing to yellow QQ)

If there is a dev who doesn't want this, or an item that servers a similar function, I will personally find him and tear one tooth from his mouth for each block of inventory the cube can hold.

I am pro and against this.
Against- this will destroy the chance of people to remake their chars, and try to better themselves everytime. There will just be no fun to it anymore. You will not have to work hard for your chars' supremacy.

I don't understand this concept. Sure, I can work at making myself better at leveling up through the game, and respecs will mean I focus less on that, but you still need to work hard at playing the high ends of the game. Even more so than the leveling/progression part. The end of the game should be the hardest part, and will be the best to hone your skills as a player. After doing that for some time, when you do decide to go back to make another class, you'll find that the things you learned playing the end game, while not neccesarily the same things you would have learned playing through each time, are at least as important, and in many cases more important.

When I play a game, my ultimate goal is to be the best player I can be and destroy whatever opposition is presented to me, human or NPC. Playing through early and easier stages of the game doesn't promote that as much as late difficult stages.

Regarding cooldowns on respecing. (i.e. back on topic)
An in game timer simply won't work. I'll just afk overnight, job done. Gradualy increasing costs in conjunction with those costs going down with a real world timer is an interesting idea. One I don't really like, but I am willing to compromise with those who don't want constant respec to be what this game is about.

I should add, another downside to the FFA setup... Do you really want to punish players becuase their ping isn't as good as someone elses? Even 50ms can make a huge difference.

I say FFA, it is more realistic too.

Please don't talk about this sort of realism. We're talking about a game where the dead walk the earth, and the devil himself wanted to enslave it. That's not exactly realistic. This is about practicality and fun-factor, and I don't like the idea of people with pick-it and faster reflexes than me to have an edge economy wise. Those reflexes should serve them for killing demons, not picking up that zod that just dropped next to me fractions of a second before I clicked it.

I think respecs should be alloud in any outpost/town. Having them controlled by an NPC is a great way to control this. To elaborate on my 'I want to respec as many damn times as I want' rant, in this scenario I fully expect the difficulty of the game to reflect that, i.e. I'm going to spec to resist magic damage, not becuase it will make killing this area easier. but becuase this area will hand my ass to me on a silver patter if I don't.

Also, having it cost gold means people want gold. If people want gold, then that means that gold is worth more than a few potions.

If you want it to be 100% about skill, you'd be best off given a level 100 character and able to choose any equiment from the game. That'd make it all about skill and choosing the right build.

This system definately works. Guild Wars used it for it's PvP only characters. Another alternative could be completely changing the ways drops work, such that rare items are not really rare at all anymore on a third character type (so we now have SC, HC, and PvP) making it all about choosing the best gear, rather than using the best you've found. Ultimately though, I think static lvl x characters and a simple menu/npc to make custom gear for you is the best way to go.

Additionaly, Id also be fine paying a small entry fee by season.

Interesting idea. Not so sure I like the limited playtime idea. Seems to me that luck would play into it. Lets say hypotheticaly all the D2 rune words are there, and your team happens to get everything they need for enigma. This alone gives them a remarkably huge advantage in combat, an advantage that will win rounds. This negates player skill, and that should be what wins or loses the match. OF course, the opposing argument is that if people can farm forever then the person who played the longest has the best chance of winning, not the most skilled player/team (in some cases). I suppose it comes down to imbalances in items in general and some things being too damn rare in D2.

Other than that though, I very much like the layout.

I don't agree with the quest reward concept, as that basicly implies that it can only be done a limited number of times (presumably 3 per quest). Yes, I want to repsec as many damn times as I want.
