I don't have an answer for you, maybe technical problems at blizzard, but I know I played Diablo II for many years and never do I associate Diablo with lag at all. As of late I have not played.

Maybe its just their way of encouraging you to go play WoW ;)

I honestly don't know. I can recall maybe one or two instances where the game was a bit laggy, but out of all the games I've played of diablo I'd say handles lag way better than pretty much any other game out there. Are you sure you were in the correct realm, and your routers configured correctly?

There is no need for a world editor, the engine makes everything random as it is.

if the guarantee hack and lag free servers and update the content every 6 months or so im more than happy to pay a small fee(5$?)
but Hellgate's sub and nonsub system is stupid. charge everyone or not at all
Lag was never a huge issue with Diablo II, so I fail to see the point in even considering dedicated servers. WoW is an MMO and obviously needed them, but diablo is just joining someone elses hosted game and playing with up to 8 people.

Honestly, if they put a subscription, it'll be WoW, not diablo.

I have to say, the Flagship guys tried doing a subscription model in Hellgate London and its terrible. They lock certain game features like hardcode mode until you pay them, they make new areas which probably should of been in the game in the first place to make it more complete and give it only to subscribers, and simple things like shared stash and pvp are non existant.

I think my worst experience was after a boss fight I found a really nice sniper rifle, but couldn't equip it because it was "subscriber only". What a slap in the face. The game is incomplete and terrible as it is, but they had the nerve to add things like that and tell me to give them more money over the cost of buying the terrible game to use one stupid item.

Generally, I'm worried that WoW might somewhat of made them shift towards something subscriber based. With Starcraft II its an RTS and theres no way they could rationalize a subscription model, but with Diablo III they could try to pull a fast one like Flagship did. Whats your opinion?
