Jan 8, 2009kaul posted a message on Bashiok On Diablo 3 Stat Points.Blizzard can probably just build onto the auto-stats allocation, something like 'paths' for you to choose from as you level up, for example, the choices of "Wisdom" "Physical" and "Dexterity". Depending on what the player chooses, stats point will be allocated accordingly. There you will have the automatic feature, while players will continue to have the option to better-effectively play extraordinary characters like... caster barbarian, or hack'n'slash wizard, if there are skills in D3 to accommodate these desires (with runes?)Posted in: News

First of all, starting a post protesting on a petition that will never be taken consideration by Blizzard and then argueing every other poster's point is the exact reasons why adults hate kids - because they just won't stop.
Then you went on and e-buffing/ insulting other people because you think you're right..., not very pleasant for the other people is it? Another reason why adults dislike kids in games, they think they're big cheese and are the most '1337' in anything, often complaining and blaming mistakes on other people. This behavior seems to get worse in games.
Mind you, I am sure many kids play games in good behavior and can cope with adults pretty well, it is just some kids that are ticking the majority off. Again, there is no need to be in a panic about Blizzard completely banning kids from playing Diablo3, it just won't happen. As you have mentioned before, "Adult" isn't stopping no one, neither will "M" prevent anyone. This thread is completely pointless.

Like Paladin88 is saying, personal preference. Adding this feature in will not upset people who dislike the idea (hey don't hire one if you don't like some AI following you around...), but it will please those who wishes to have one. Sooo my take is, why not?
Act 2 mercs were only useful if they can actually survive

You had no control what so ever over the merc other than equiping him/her with some items, not to mention their "exceptional" AI and was of no use in any PVP situation... well, not like any PVP will last more than 10 sec anyways...
They should really let you customize the merc's skills as you would customize your own heroes by giving them a set of unique skills depending on the class of the merc.
With that said, I think since there will only be 5(or 7?) classes available immediately upon release, with more than a dozen interesting ones to choose from, maybe blizz can make good use of any other scrapped class ideas that did not make it on the roster and transform them into a for hire merc instead.
Just some thoughts.

A Sorc/Necromancer hybird, that would be cool.

A friend of mine mentioned a "WoW" type ranger, where he/she can charm animals to be his/her companion, ultilize the range weapon while having a certain degree of close combat capability, or as many have mentioned a "guildwar" type of ranger with traps (combining the assasin? ya... soundin like it). I think these are kinda neat, but this IS diablo... blizzard might want to distinguish this series from the others.

Jokes aside, I think she will end up being an accompanying NPC to the player's character, who most likely will have a bitter end.
Which brings me into thinking - I hope they bring back an enhanced mercenary system from D2, i really liked that....

Instead of a Paladin, I am thinking maybe they can revamp it into something different... such as a Priest/Priestress (or Crusader, whatever you name it)
If same old skill trees return (3 type of skils set), One set can be a holy tree where the priest/ress can ulitilze their magical power from heaven to damage foes and heal allies. The other set can be an "Enchantment" tree where special enchanted weapons (melee/range) and armor can be summoned to aid the hero/ine in battle, with the ultimate final skill being a transforming skill that turns the user into an Angel? 3rd set... i don't know, aura like the pally combined with rallying human troops through charisma and summoning heaven's servant in expense of personal combat capability?
This would serve the pally's purpose of a hybird class.
As for other classes, like many have said... a ranger type and a caster type are pretty obvious choice.
