I really hope the last class is the Druid. I think there was a lot of missed potential with him in D2. He could be the most versatile class of the 5. With shapeshifting (my favorite), he's good at melee. With weather manipulation, he's great ranged. And with summons, he's great for support, crowd control, and so forth. And since he's a nature kind of guy, bows would be OK for him.

But really, if they're wanting another ranged character, the Amazon is the most obvious choice. I just really, really want a Druid, so I'm making up any reason to convince myself he has a good chance of being number 5.

I dunno if you've ever watched old hong kong kung fu, but there are tons of weapon possibilities! Aside from bare fists, gloves & claws... there are staves and swords to shovel blades, spears, fans, melon balls, hammers, hell, even chopsticks. My personal favourite is the three sectional staff.

Yeah, that's true. I guess when I hear of a monk I just assume his body will be his main weapon. I'm not really sure why I get that image, though. I think of monks being passive, which isn't the case with this one, obviously, since he's killing things.

And those gameplay videos look great. I'm loving the fast attacks.

The Monk looks awesome. There's a ton of potential with this class. I'm thinking he'll probably be really quick, with emphasis on close range combat. Maybe with some type of combo/quick multiple hits type damage. Some type of aura (similar to the paladin) would probably fit in as well.

As for weapons, what fits in with monks aside from staves and bare handed? Maybe some time of gloves, or something?

posted a message on D3 Art Director explains the game new looks.
I really like the direction the game has went visually. I think a dark, non colorful world would probably be enjoyable short term, but since D3 will most likely be a game I'll want to play for many years, I welcome a large visual variety. Making a game too dark just creates something that is less adventurous and more predictable than I'd like. What I've seen so far from gameplay videos is full of style and visual flair, rather than an absence of light, coupled with dead bodies and such, which would be boring to me.

So far, it looks like we'll be exploring a living, breathing, but awfully brutal world, which is what I really want for D3. In some ways, I think this will make the situation Sanctuary is in feel more unfortunate and disheartening. The developers seem to be doing a great job at making the game brutal on a much deeper level, rather than using the tired, boring tricks we see in your average horror movie, or these so called horror games.

For me, I welcome and encourage an interesting, colorful world full of death and destruction.
