I think comparisons to WoW are somewhat valid...as I'm sure a lot of the same artists worked on Diablo III. Even if not intentional, similarities would shine through.
That being said, the proportions of the characters are a lot more realistic than WoW's exaggerated look. Armor looks bulky, but armor is bulky in real life and in WoW it makes characters as wide as they are tall. (but this is certainly not the case in any of the DIII screens we've seen)
Matches up almost perfectly! Think about it...Blizzard just merged with Activision (Makers of Guitar Hero) therefore they have access to a huge catalog of licensed rock music tracks.
