Even the best engineers in the world are going to struggle to track down what is specifically causing some top end machines to suffer stuttering and slowdown issues while many others do not. I have a fairly top end machine and do not have any issues at all.
This can always be an issue with PC games and why developing for them can be harder than consoles. The vast array of potential hardware that your game is run on can spring up incredibly hard to track down issues with your software.

I plan to write about my characters progression, as I enjoy writing (though you won't catch me saying its good, thats not for me to decide) but I feel like normal will simply pass by too quickly for me to do so effectively. To that end, I will be waiting for hell difficulty before starting to write which, for this game, is great because it is the same journey, just a higher difficulty.
One of the top suggestions I have seen for aspiring writers is that you need to form a habit of writing every day, so writing about my characters journey from her perspective will be a great way to balance my desire to play the ever living shit out of Diablo 3 upon release while still finding time to write very day. It will force me to find a break point and go 'I need to write this up' rather than just continuing to smash through the hordes. Lots of screenshots will help too
More power to those that want to rush though. Game designers may have a certain vision for how their game should be played, but once it is in a gamers hand, they can play it however they wish and if rushing is what they want and enjoy, thats awesome!

Part of the job for the CMs like Bash is to act as a conduit of feedback between developers and the players. I imagine that alot of the core developers like programmers and artists personally stay away from the forums and get their feedback in filtered mode via the CMs.
I certainly would. As a developer that is letting the community have an insight into how you make games, the official forums would be soul crushing.

This. Nothing more fun than chilling on skype with a few friends while blasting the denizens of hell to pieces. After the very first time in beta we all piled into a game we agreed voice coms would have made it so much cooler

Parting Gift or Displace I would take. Displace would be the go so long as you knew you werent going to be jumping into an unexplored area.
To be totally fair, there is nothing to actually debate in this thread. OP makes a statement and claims undeniable, theorycrafted proof which he refuses to post and simply trolls anyone that is replying to him. It is hard to logically debate with someone that refuses to accept logic

So show some actual theorycrafting as proof. Otherwise, continue to expect to be shouted at for posting speculative fiction as though it were fact.

"Classic mouse friendly UI"? Which one is that exactly? The Diablo 2 one where everything gets hotkeyed and you only use the mouse for moving and aiming? Or do you mean the Diablo 1 UI where...uhhh...everything gets hotkeyed and you only use the mouse for moving and aiming?
This seems to just be general sentiment against the skills UI in particular. Companies have far more to gain by making the UI as friendly and easy to use as possible.
Play the game, not the interface.

Pretty sure a blue said if you do and see 80% of the story, a run through normal is in the region of 15-20 hours, so this is probably right.

You can play wherever you like...after the game is unlocked. Until the game unlocks in your default region, you cannot play.

You have no idea how keen I am for D3

Totally agree there. If they didn't take any lessons from what is arguably their most successful game, then people would complain like crazy that "WoW does the same thing, but better, why didn't you do it like WoW?"

Not quite. Feats of Strength are generally given for something unique like, as you said, Blizzcon attendances or Collectors Edition vanity pets. Feats of strength are also granted when they remove particular content that did have achievements associated with it (eg weapon skills, items from seasonal events or anniversary days).
They are not really hard to get, they are achievements for things that Blizzard realize will not be able to be achieved by all players for various different reasons (limited Blizzcon tickets, limited CEs and so forth)

Even that, I don't think, is an issue, as you will still have variants created based on a specific band of skills or archtype which will see people re-roll (Melee wizard, no pet witchdoctor) along with trying classic modes like Ironman and Live off the Land.
I think replayability will be in a good place.

Fair enough, what about the actual forum name?
http://www.battle.net/forums/board.aspx?ForumName=d3-general <-- Tosses a "Battle.net forums are down" error.
Change the d3-general to anything else that is not listed on the main forum list page and it will redirect you back to the main forum list.
If you try and visit any of the forums on the main forum list, they are all working just fine.
www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath/ did exactly the same thing in the few days leading up to the Wrath of the Lich King announcement. Instead of throwing a 404 like any other words, it was throwing up a forbidden error.
The d3-general forum is there, it is just not available to us yet.
