I think the thing about hydras three heads, and the way blizzard represents all the "three big", warcraft, starcraft and diablo, has got something to do with the new b.net. Starcraft uses b.net, wc3 uses b.net and Diablo uses b.net. BUT I also think they will announce Diablo 3.
The fate of baal's soulstone has never been revealed. And also, from the link above, it would seem like the worldstone may not necessarily need to be destroyed at all. And Tyrael may have been corrupted by baal before hand, and baal's actual plan was to break the worldstone, which allows hell to run lose to heaven.
I think a Diablo III is very promising. I really do believe it will be revealed in WWI.
edit: Just to add. Soulstones ONLY prevent the prime evils from corrupting the Mortal realm. But says nothing about screwing heaven up
