The only reason Sol's here is to promote his website. I've seen him spam his stupid link in the IRC plenty of times to know that... and the constant ranting on how Diablo III needs to be more like WoW.
This is the exactly reason I don't visit the forums/IRC as often anymore. There's too many idiots that could care less about the actual Diablo series. IMO everyone here is making Diablo's community look bad. It's the only linked fan site on their page and it's full of unmonitored immature kids.
I think allot of people are missing what the system actually is. You will be able to see ALL the drops but some you will not be able to loot, these names tend to have a grey wash over them or have the assigned characters name on highlight.
I cant believe you guys have not seen this system in other games. The days of ninjaing everything from the none melle chars and slow ping folk are gone...and good riddance.
They never said that you'd be able to see other player's loot.
Could some1 describe to me the proposed loot system for D3 and the loot system in WoW? Thanks
Every time a monster dies there are items dropped; but they are different for each person. You can't see items dropped for your friend and he can't see the items dropped for you. Apparently it's all random per player, too. You might get a shako but your friend might get a shitty 10def cap.
i think perhaps you should clarify on your poll options
1 - Keep everything intact like it was in Diablo II. [ Whenever loot drops, everyone can see the same thing and there is competition. ]
2 - Same as 1 but use an individual looting system for all bosses and NMs.
3 - Everything uses an individual looting system. [ Whenever loot drops, each person in the game can see their own set of loot and there is no competition whatsoever. ]
Jazz, stop with the 50 effing posts. We've heard you...
About the darkness. This isn't supposed to look like a peaceful real-world environment. It's Diablo. We don't want a magical WoW environment with purple creatures and oopy-doopy movements. We want death, blood, dark areas, and where the game can actually scare us. The dungeon looked awesome but it could still use improvement.
About the inventory. In my opinion the way they have it would be awesome for bosses and NMs... but for everything else, it should stick with the old looting system. For example, you're running through the Den of Evil; each item that drops from these crappy creatures should be visible by everyone... but when you kill one of the few NMs there, everyone should get their own set of loot.
I'm not dissing out the game at all. It still has LOTS of time before it even comes close to release. It's Blizzard- I'm sure they'll make it just perfect for us.
