It could easily cost money. The online quality would be much much much better if we did have to pay. You think keeping up servers ect is free? What about patches? Exploit fixes? D2 was a pile of shit in terms of how slow Blizzard took to release each patch. We wont even talk about public dupe exploits that went MONTHS without being fixed.
If this was years ago, I might complain about a monthly fee, but I've learned that a month fee is worth it if the quality of the game is improved.
And I'm just telling you that the lead developer announced a few hours ago that they want to have several classes, but have no set number. When I was listening, it sounded like he wanted a bit more than 5. More around 8'ish, but he did definitely say that they don't have a certain number set for now. He's probably more reliable than the FAQ.
why are u so sure paladin will be in 3 a rogue cant be because she was in d1 ,sorcerer could be i dont think paladin will be because they added some new skills to the barbarian or depends u now why starcraft has only 3 races and its the most balanced game
What? I'm just saying there will be a ranger and a caster class. I'm not speculating on official names. Your spelling ect is really annoying to read btw.
Diablo 2 wasn't the most balanced game, but it was amazingly fun.
Wow is *balanced* and although I played it for a long time, isn't that fun compared to how much fun I had in D2.
Basically I'm saying balance does not = fun "although balanced games are fun". Don't get me wrong, a completely unbalanced game isn't what I mean. Just something like D2.
On the Dev Panel they stated that they don't have a set number of classes yet. I'm going to go with the most recent word from the lead designer and say that Diablo III could very well have 7+ classes. As long as the classes are in depth and fun, 5 is more than enough for me tbh.
I'm just basing this on the FAQ from the diablo3 site.
I'm curious if these people are "just happy to have a girlfriend" even if shes below average. Or "just happy to have a job" even though it's cleaning toilets.
Why should you just be happy it exists? Don't just accept anything with a Diablo or warcraft logo attached and assume it's going to be amazing. The game will be a success theres no doubt in my mind, even if it was a complete pile of the cow king's finest dung. Blizzard stands to make money, they are going to release it, hold them to a standard. Especially considering how long it took them to make this game.
No. There were 5 classes in the last game. 7 classes in the last expansion. I don't really care for classes though, as each of them are fun to me.
Plus, how long did it take for an expansion to come out? Less than a year. There was even going to be another but it was abandoned.
An "expansion" is an add on the THE ORIGINAL GAME. Making it part of the original game. Storyline, everything. Where did we leave off last? yes, the expansion. Why should we have LESS classes?
Diablo to Diablo 2 to Diablo2LOD went 3 to 5 to 7. This game should have 7 or more. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying a massive amount of classes, just enough where it feels like not everyone is playing the same thing.
Going from 7 classes in the last game to 5 doesn't seem like a smack in the face to you? So we have to wait for an expansion for more classes, when the game has taken this long to come out already? I think you're the idiot.
I guess you just have lower standards, too blinded by fanboyism.
When the game has taken THIS long to even be announced, and will take who knows how long to be released. You hve the right to complain. Don't give me shit about "be happy they made it". This game will make huge sales, it's a no brainer that they will make it.
As far as talents/skills *possibly* being more diverse. Even if they are, more classes makes things much more interesting. If it were 7 I wouldn't complain, but 5? 5?!
Seriously, what a fucking let down man. i'm not trying to ruin anyones day here but I'm angry about the limited amount of classes.
They could have at least had 7 "D2xpack". To actually have less classes seems like a complete joke to me. I'm a huge Diablo fan, huge. But Blizzard is failing to raise the bar here. This isn't 2000 where this type of game was new.
I know people are here and excited, I'm excited too. But I feel really discouraged about only 5 classes.
Furthermore, I think it's fairly obvious the type of classes there will be.

Will we be able to increase run speed through talents/items like in Diablo 2?

I hope so

Because it was a step up? 3 to 5.
I just hope the classes are at least new and interesting. The barb is old, the witch doctor does not seem interesting.
Good formulas would be the old classes + a few new ones
or
All new classes

I think 8 classes would be good.

by that logic you would be happy with a trash can with a letter 3 on it.
