You better go cry Blizzard how it is unfair that you are not getting all items instantly :)
No one even began to suggest the droprate was unfair at all, they just asked what it was...trolling FTW!

posted a message on CDR does NOT suffer from Diminishing Returns!! Using Serenity CD to illustrate.
Diminishing means "lesser". Return means "what you get". You are correct that the term has its roots in MMORPGs, but it is not in regards to "more statpoints to achieve another percent"; older MMOs had softcaps built in that made it so that above a certain statpoint, you literally got less per point out of it than below that statpoint. "What you get" when you stack CDR is more casts per hour; this does not diminish, it increases exponentially. There are no diminishing returns here unless you literally want to change the definition of the term. That would be ironic, wouldn't it?

interesting. need some more excel graphics and piecharts. fraggin love piecharts! =))

Hopefully I am not breaking any ToS here, I read the ToS and didn't see anything wrong with posting a link to a GoogleDrive spreadsheet--

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15_h_IG5Uz2zNVPXIValODYhspmNKS2C7coD0phbv_Kk/edit#gid=0

    Excel graphics!!

Also, to Autocthon--I see people post on a daily basis that CDR suffers from "Diminishing Returns" (check the Flow of Eternity thread for today's entry, for example). Making this post to show that they are mis-informed. To be honest, because I had never done the math via casts, I did not realize that high end CDR was better than low end CDR; I always thought they were approximately equivalent.

posted a message on CDR does NOT suffer from Diminishing Returns!! Using Serenity CD to illustrate.
Orignally posted this in another thread, but as I computed out the numbers I realized this is not just a disproof of the diminishing returns statement, it is even counter-intuitive. Because of this, I thought I should post it in its own thread so people can see it.

CDR does NOT suffer from diminishing returns, and it is NOT less effective. at 0% CDR you can cast 180 Serenities in an hour. At 10% CDR you can cast Serenity every 18 seconds, or 200 Serenities in an hour. At 19% (2x10%) CDR you can cast Serenity every 16.2 seconds, or 222 Serenities in an hour. At 27.1% (3x10%) you can cast Serenity every 14.58 seconds, or 247 Serenities in an hour. At 34.39% (4x10%) you can cast Serenity every 13.122 seconds, or 274 Serenities in an hour. Things continue at this rate, there is no diminishing returns from CDR; if anything, stacking more is worth MORE (20 more casts for first 10%, 22 for second 10%, 25 for third 10%, 27 for fourth 10%). PERIOD.

To go from 66.67% CDR to 70% CDR requires 10% more CDR. at 66.67 CDR you have a 6.67 second CD on Serenity, or 540 casts per hour. At 70% CDR you have a 6 second CD on Serenity, or 600 casts per hour. In other words, CDR is much more effective at high CDR than at low CDR (20 more casts per hour vs 60 more casts per hour).

Hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere, so thought I would ask...anyone else notice the ninja buff back to Harrington's for GRifts? When I was doing them last night, chests and bodies were around, never dropped any loot; seemed intended to me.

posted a message on question regarding Leoric's crown
Crap I forgot the maxxed out IAS/CDR gem, which would be another 20%...with max stats on that, you could shave off another 2.15%, which would put you to 80.67. In other words, yes, 80% CDR will be achievable theoretically; that means permanent Serenity for monks, and permanent Archon for Wizards (those are the two classes I play; not sure if 80% is a magic number for any other classes).

posted a message on question regarding Leoric's crown
Remove the 12.5% gem, you go from .6036 to 1-((1-.6036)/.875)=1-(.3964/.875)=1-.4530=.5470. In other words, when you remove a 12.5% gem that I assume you have from your hat, you drop to 54.7%. Now reapply the 25% gem if you get a max rolled Leorics--> 1-(1-.5470)*.75 =.1-(.4530*.75) =1-.33975=.66025. Therefore, if you got a Leoric's and were sitting at 60.35% before, you would go to 66.03%, approximately. If you did NOT have a 12.5% gem before, Autocthon's math is good, you would end up right at 70%.

Soft (gear) cap on live is ~73% for non monks, ~75% for monks. When taking the new Leoric's and the new Vigilante belt into account, that may come close to 80% for all players (monks only had an advantage due to a spirit stone that could roll CDR).

Hard cap (with buffs from Empowered Shrines and Channeling Pylons) is 89.99%. As an aside, you can hit that with an Empowered Shrine once you hit about 65% CDR without it.

    **EDIT**
    Passive--.8 Paragon--.9 Head--.75 Amulet--.92 Shoulders--.92 Gloves--.92 Belt--.92 Ring1--.92 Ring2--.92 MH--.9 OH--.9 Borns--.9 Cap Crim--.9

    1-(.8*.9*.75*.92^6*.9^4)=1-(.2148)=.7852

So new theoretical max CDR is 78.52%.

    Wow that's a lot of feedback-follow.

Except for the fact that feedback doesn't get posted in class forums on battle.net, it gets posted in the PTR Feedback forum. If you look in the right place you will find a lot of feedback from players on Monks from PTR.

posted a message on Loot Tracking
I am considering starting an ambitious project of collecting data on Legendary drop rates. My question to people is--if you had an Excel spreadsheet that asked you to record the legendaries you get, where they came from, and your log on/log off times (I would say rift start and finish times, but I think that would cramp peoples' style efficiency wise), and it was a fairly simple format, would you use it? This would give two benefits...one, you could either have data to back up your arguments or see for yourself that your arguments are debunked, and two, I could accumulate the data and analyze it for larger trends. Please vote on the poll!

posted a message on Idea RE:Trading of Items
    Quote from PaulAcid

No. The biggest issue with trading is that it creates an economy. It will FLOOD the market with items and everything will be 20x easier to get except the top of the top tier (Think AH days, because that's EXACTLY the result, just with less efficiency).

The only possible solution for Blizzard would be to nerf drop rates to pre 2.0 levels. Yay, now nobody likes the game again.
Because being able to trade one item per account per week (I think even per day would be fine, anyway) is really going to create this huge burgeoning economy that will make drops 20x easier to get...

posted a message on Idea RE:Trading of Items
Most people are stating that the main issue with trading of items is that third party sites will get involved, and start making money. The biggest part of these third parties' money is made through bulk; if we want a trading system that keeps the third parties at bay but still allows us to share that ridiculously awesome piece of gear with a friend, why not make, say, one item a day/week tradeable? Could make it so that an account can receive one item per day/week, and they could give away one item per day/week. This would solve the problem that most seem to be complaining about (the egregious instances when you REALLY want to give someone else a piece of gear), while still blocking out the third parties. Thoughts?
