    - Arcane orb, could be an item that grants all of them a scorch effect (would be flat out improving the dmg from scorch ofc or make it wider). Otherwise, they could make one where the orbs when exploding sends out smaller versions of the original orb.



    Another, maybe too strong, grant it a chance to proc black hole (absolute zero for frozen orb, blazar for scorch, spellsteal or Event horizon for Obliteration). Not sure how i would make it work for arcane orbit, but maybe something like it could proc wave of force? Arcane version that knockbacks, seeing how its in melee that might be useful.

    Really Think a lot of people nailed the armor thing, but one i personally find as a cool idea would be Familiar.

    It might be too much like marauder, but i dont think that should exclude it!

    Familiar summons all Familiar types to your side

    Magic weapon Enchants your weapon in any ways possible (Dmg% dont stack, force weapon 20% is the dmg increase)



    I dont think we need more signature changers, but i think there could be some really cool ideas by making an item that allows you to use 2 runes instead of just 1. In regards to shock pulse, no idea. dont like the ability in most of its runes.

    Ray of frost Gains the effect of Sleet storm

    You can now channel Ray of frost: Sleet storm while moving.



    In general more items a la Cosmic strand granting a rune effect more to spells.

    Hey there, I'd start up with the 2 following links.

    Fire gear i have collected theese past few days



    My current frost gear



    In regards to my frost gear i am trying to get myself a good bounty ring and generally trying to get myself a pair of frostburn. Also i have had 0 luck with getting a good frost amulet, thus why im still wearing the rare one. Also looked for an azurewrath, but as the link with my newly acquired gear kinda hints to, i dont seem to find anything but fire gear (well and some arcane too but not enough atm to warrant going for it). Same for the andariels visage, got 2 of em in stash, one of them in the fire gear link and an identical one just in arcane.

    So all in all, trying for the following for frost without much luck.



    • New better azurewrath
    • New andariels visage
    • Frostburn gloves
    • New amulet
    • Act 1 bounty ring
    • Witching hour (got harringtons but i prefer witching hour)
    • Ideally a new pair of iceclimbers too
    Not sure im missing anything, but if i am i would love to get to know about it! :)

    Now with the fire gear, well im trying to reroll my amulet atm without luck, and to get a new better soj and ring. Some new boots too would probally help a lot too.



      So currently im looking for rings (got versions of em that arent ideally rolled)
    Other than that, the question goes more into the wand of woh i found today. Keep resource cost and reroll vit to socket untill 2.1 hits? or reroll resource cost?
    Also, should i keep trying to find upgrades for my firebirds boots and pants, and in general with the items i linked what would be the better combination? I was thinking something like cindercoat and andariels/Magefist then 5 piece firebirds RorG?Finally a general question. Ingame my current stats are http://imgur.com/3ymFHHeAt what point should i stop focusing on armor and all resistance? got with prismatic armor 1900-2300 res (generally at 1928 and then a few of em ranging above 2000) and 10000 armor. Recently i just feel that my health has gone, quite low. running 180k hp atm. Should i focus more on hp and less on armor/ar? currently im traversing t3 fine, my cold gear did not allow me to burn through t4 fast enough, and t5, while doable was just painstakingly slow and dangerous due to me just not killing stuff fast enough.
    So to sum it up. Defensive stats, should i start getting more vit? if so what to sacrifice to get it? Or should i just try untill i find a level im comfortable at.

    Edit: Currently running a frozen orb/magic missile build, have no idea what id run as fire seeing how i now got a double hydra wand, wand of woh, and a pretty decent maximus for 2.1 (or maybe its shit, but i dunno really)

    Well saw the post where they told demon hunters and monks later(?) That they really actively look at the input that is put up on the forums. If it is true (i really hope and think it is) Then There may yet be a future for wizards.

    Also, i am not sure of their policy but with the addition of grifts, i really hope their philosophy would change a bit about balancing. Not sure what it is now, but with a potentially infinite difficulty system added, then making the vast majority of specs strong and a few overpowered (which may warrant slight balance nerfs to the overpowered ones) seems to be the better way, as it will allow us to use whatever spec we want outside grifts but inside them where the competition takes place is where we may, may not, be shoe horned into specific insane builds.

    Much like bagstone said, i will be sceptical untill i see the patch being released. It can make or break it to me, as many of the extra things that they are adding arent too important to me, rather i want to see them make frost and lightning function again for wizards as i love thoose spells and, quite frankly dislike most of the arcane and fire ones or i dont have the gear to use em well enough.

    All in all, hoping that blizzards gets into buffing arcane orb and meteor, and remaining sceptical at the channelled abilities changes.

    Wizard just feels weak when playing in coop compared to others, this can be my horrid rng playing in (paragon 294, gained like 200+ in reaper. not as much as the best but a lot). Seen my first tal rasha last night (a imo good rolled chest, could be better but good) and a firebird chest recently, other than that only seen 2 vyrs boots.

    Either way the point is that sure, i may be fucked due to rng, but i also just find my abilities to hit for shit and cost stupid ammounts of arcane power.

    It has come to the point where i am not sure i want to play my wiz anymore as it just feels like if i ever want to progress beyond t3 (havent tried t4 but cba, takes too long to kill stuff in t3) i have to farm twice as much as the other classes.

    Also the fact that we got so few items actually doing fun stuff to our spells, or just doign what they they promised, being game changers. Other classes get lots of fun stuff doing that, wiz, well we got ehm, wand of woh? Not sure we got any other big game changers tbh. Well mirror ball ofc but its mandatory.

    Ofc it may just be me missing em, but it feels like we were the class that got balanced the least, and when one of builds (i know it was bugged) like frozen orb seem to catch extra wind and actually work, well too bad! The none fire build that allowed you to go from more than t1-t4 has to be nerfed!.

    Final thing about frozen orb is a rant as it made me quit originally, no fun farming new items that are both not frost dmg or arcane orb specialised when i had quite a lot that was focused on it. (Originally when i played it i had no id ea it was bugged thus i feel that the so called b ug fix was, well uncalled for).



    All in all, give me lower costs on ap spenders or give me far more dmg on them. Currently they feel like they cost a ton and they deal shit dmg :(

    got 2 questions about theese if anyone has had the chance to test em on the ptr.

    Do they stack? as does the extra missiles also get the dmg increase from depth diggers? If so then i know what the next item i have to farm for through kadala is :P (shes still refusing to give me a 2nd, remotely good mirror ball -_-)

    2nd one is the magic missile now able to generate procs. Does it refer to stuff like chance to freeze on azurewraith? Or does it refer to something else?

    If i have failed to use the search engine i apologise, just could not seem to find a post in regards to this.

    Vagrancy my assumption comes from trying it out for quite a while today, and it feels like it lost a very noticable ammount of dmg. And i am not talking about the spread (or the area it is hitting), im talking about the fact that if i want it to be even remotely good i have to practically hit the mobs with the point of impact where the orb explodes. And still when i do this (which wasnt required before) it hits for far less than pre patch.

    As i also said in my post, it still works. but i do not believe it will work if i try to venture above torment 3 unless i get almost near perfect gear.

    Also, it should be noted that there have been several sneak changes in this patch, so this may be a change that was snuck in along the others, or it may just be an unforseen consequence of the fix OR a new bug.

    Not really sure how, but i feel that my frozen orbs hit for so much less since the patch came out. Pre patch i could easily survive and blast through torment 3. That is not the case after the patch. I can still do it easily, but the time it takes to do it just got doubled. That coupled with the fact that we are now forced to specialise our characters (frost dmg arcane orb dmg and such) make theese kind of changes quite disheartening, as it is effecitvely a huge setback gearwise.

    Now i am not saying frozen orb is dead, neither that i got perfect gear for it. But i am saying that i do not feel that the "fix" and thus nerf to frozen orb was as warranted as people make it out to. Most frozen orb builds function by sacrificing almost all ability slots to dmg enhancers. My own etc doesnt even have teleport in it, as i rely on black hole for offensive and defensive countermeassures against elites.

    All in all, not really happy that it seems to actually affect the build a lot more than just a smaller hit radius. And heres hoping they hotfix it to do more dmg or something soon as it in its current incarnation just doesnt cut it anymore in comparison with arcane torrent and disintegrate.

    This is with the EXACT same gear (firewalker boots changed to equal icebreakers but should not do that difference) that i used pre patch. So it is not because of regearing or anything.

    With prismatic armor and force weapon im running 1.1 mill dmg 7.9 mill toughness, got 66% cold dmg 10% arcane orb, i used to be able to do torment 3 easily, now, not so much.

    TLDR: Feels like the fix didnt just fix the area it hit but also hurt the dmg of the frozen orb, and not just by a little but by a lot.

    think ill start by YOU GOT FREAKING SET ITEMS -_-

    gotten 3 crap thunderfury and a not too good azurewrath (well good for me but crap rolled 15% out of 20% and had to reroll other stuff on it)

    Then i have gotten my share of good items i suppose but its extremely frustrating to have only seen like 2 pieces of set items that were both rolled worse than crap, and meanwhile see so many from my clan roll great legendary set items and such.

    All in all if any id say smart loot isnt very smart considering 2 handers as they are imo almost, no always shit compared to a 1 hand+ source.

    I dont really see the problem with people doing this as it is available at the moment. I do see it as a gigantic mess though, that you can split farm bounties on normal like they do atm. Maybe make it so that higher torment lvls give more caches pr act completed, or the counter split farm one is make a greater cache at the end while all the others give a regular.

    The above would also solve the fact that bounties are abominable to do alone.

    So generally, buff bounties, do something to prevent split farming or atleast make an alternative to it as it is unrivaled atm.

    Now, i have quite good gear myself (850k dmg 5.5mill toughness wiz unbuffed no glass canon) without a but load of split farming normal bounties, but whenver i need new rift shards, i get a group for it as it is just so much faster to do it like that.

    So all in all, i am not saying remove split farming normal. im saying make an alternative that is comparable, and preferably better than the normal mode farming, as that is such an oversight on blizzards part IMO.

    short version: Buff bounties, give me a better alternative in torment than silly no brain normal farming, and make bounties more worth soloing aswell as it is currently only really worth doing them split farm normal.

    quite enjoy reading the absurdities that are proposed here.

    May it be as simple as that it weighs certain stats higher than others, as to make it more rare to actually roll the bis stats?

    Also, as so many others have said, rng, is just that. R N G.

    Now. The above is a simple way of putting it. A bit more in depth would be, how many different outcomes does each different stat have.

    I am completely sure that main stats, Life on hit, Life regen and so on got EXTREME ammounts of chances compared to say attack speed or critl

    Life on hit on my main hand etc: 2276-2971

    Int on my main hand: 626-750

    Compare the odds on the above if i had to reroll. if i can have ANY number inbetween both of em like i assume is the case, then the odds of getting life on hit are quite a bit larger than int.

    This ofc can be debated if that is how it works, as it may also be working in the way that it first chooses a stat, and then rolls. Even if this is the case, the odds of you rolling that 1 stat out of 10+, are abysmal.

    Finally, please, PLEASE dont whine untill you try to reroll one of the wiz sources or similar items (legendary ofc) that can have any of the % spell dmg affixes. THAT is a living rng hell i swear.

    your stone of jordan is better. the cold dmg isnt calculated with the % increase below, so the 14% increase in dmg will not cover the 16% cold dmg increase.

    also, 25% increase dmg on elites is HUGE, and speaking from a frozen orb wiz with quite decent gear, i 1/2 shot most ev erything on torment 3, only elites are a bit slower.
