No, Diablo 2 did not work well on PK, due to hacks and cheats. Which will inevitably occur if you keep some "timer".
Its simple.
You must consent to PvP or PK. If you allow it, you cant cry when you die.
Otherwise, if the button is off. You cant be touched. Period.
This solves the hack and spell-remaining problems, with no TP or WP issues.
The only ones who will hate it are those who would PK someone who cant fight back.

Jun 8, 2007squirecam posted a message on Blizzcon 2007 Announced - Diablo 3 announcement please!Posted in: NewsQuote from "Doppelganger" »Blizz making a new MMO franchise to be released in say 2 years would be a very bad desision (in 4-5 years ok), do you have any idea how much money and people it costs to keep WoW running?
There will atleast be one more expansion pack to WoW, people that are in MMO and have been playing WoW on a regular base will keep playing it, some will lose interest, some will gain interest with new expansions, so i dont see WoW being in that much trouble.
Besides a new MMO doesnt equal bigger revenue, lets say the new MMO will do as well as WoW did (this is the best kind of result in that senario) there would still be a lot of players swiching to the new MMO.
This isnt good business at all. (even in a very good senario)
Two MMO's is almost always losses. (or they have to be very different in nature so people would consider paying both, and one thing with mmo's is that they are quite simmilar)
Now making a non-MMO game is a whole new story, people dont feel like having to choose, they still can play for example WoW and D3 at the same time.
You can always do the "SOE" method...
Warcraft or Diablo MMO at $15 a month, or get both at $21
Besides, Warcraft will always have a million or two players subscribing. Even at that rate, WOW will continue to make $$$
I agree with an earlier poster. If people are leaving WOW for a different MMO, why not leave for a BLIZZARD MMO. The best competitor IS yourself... -

A month before Starcraft 2, Blizz said while they liked the starcraft universe, they could not state any current plans to return to it.
Then they announce SC2.
What blizzard says beforehand is really irrelevant...

How about you quit being an ass already
You post what you want, I'll post what I want. If you dont like it dont read it.

Unless, as PC gamer stated, they never intended to do a D3 article at all. The cover was just a random fill-in....
http://www.pcgamer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24788
So the "change" could mean absolutely nothing in regards to Blizzcon...

Good question.
Why would legendary pictures say a Diablo movie, then suddenly say no its warcraft??
Perhaps their answer is true. Perhaps not. But one thing is true, D3 rumors create buzz. Perhaps they wanted that most of all...
0
If you believe their answer, then the fact is there was no "d3" article planned, and this has no relevance to Blizzcon and a potential announcement...
0
If you are registered there, how about posting the question...
Perhaps they will answer, perhaps not. But no harm in trying.
0
Perhaps someone registered there can ask them why the article was left out??

I hope the movie is NOT the big announcement....
Game...ok
Game + movie...ok
movie...

If they announce Diablo: the movie, I will be bummed.
I want a game, not a movie.
Of course, a game AND a movie is ok.

Imagine the lag of players with 30 minions.
People complained of lag in 8 player games with one necro's minions...
Given the different vision perspectives of D2 vs WOW, you would hardly be able to see anything on the screen with 2-3 necros plus 90 minions running around you.
Its pretty obvious "mechanics wise" there would be issues with that many minions in a diablo MMO...
0
For example, a necromancer can have 10-30 minions. That amount has never been used in an MMO. So would a necro be somehow "limited" to 1 skeleton??? That pretty much ruins the class.
You'd have to change a LOT of the way the classes work in order to get a Diablo MMO....
OR...
Set the MMO in the pre-trist days...ala the recent novels....

Final Boss is....all 3 of them at the same time.
Much death...and much fun...

ANAHEIM, California--On the question of expanding World of Warcraft, the question wasn't "if," it was "when." Said "when" was today. At BlizzCon, Blizzard Entertainment's annual expo, the VU Games-owned developer-publisher officially announced its immensely popular massively multiplayer role-playing game is getting an add-on.
It was released January 2007.
If WOW should have an expansion "every year" (or even 2), an "official" announcement can still mean over a year until it is released.
Therefore, it is more likely a WOW expansion gets announced rather than D3. It would be more likely to be "ready" first" as opposed to the new D3... Besides, has Blizzard ever had three ANNOUNCED projects going at one time??
Sucks, but D3 could be 3 years away (even if announced "next year", then it is released 1 year later)
