    vocal minority

That goes both ways.. it seems there is a vocal minority that drowns out majority concerns more often than not. And no I am not trolling, just trying to balance the conversation

When you talk to players in-game you see a much more balance point of view than Blizzards forum.. I just joined here so I will reserve judgement but already got flagged with a trolling warning when not even thinking I did anything to merit it

I am seeing 'sidebar' type items.. mainly that amulet that gives you immune to arcane and also gives life when you are hit by them. Makes my dmg go 16% lower wearing it, but you just camp in the middle and not worry until everything is dead then switch back to a real dmg ammy

Also, those gloves that give you the 6 seconds of absorb shield is useful for just tanking too.. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/st-archews-gage

my WD is just going more and more tank and only lost about 15% dmg so far but survives real easy now on T3

They probably also realized that no matter what they did, there would be skills that were mostly unused. It's just too hard to balance them . The problem with skill trees is that they (at least in every RPG I've ever played that used them), never really add as much depth as they appear to. Most skills fall into one of three categories for any particular spec/build:

That is very lazy and inaccurate. Many people have played Magic the Gathering and that game has lived forever by players finding innovated ways to play. Many of the obvious choices and many lesser known ways also come up and then they have rule changes and new cards release to make things interesting again. D3 keeps hacking itself to death every time it takes one step forward and 100 babies cry.

There is nothing stopping Blizz from introducing newer legends (they do anyway) to make interesting builds more interesting over time instead of just saying 'people will only play one way anyway'

    Major lazy cop out
Except that every once and a while, Magic screws up and either makes turn 1 kills possible or creates a card so overpowered that it dominates the game (e.g., Necropotence). And usually the corrective action is restrict or ban the offending card. That sounds like Magic is "telling people how to play".Not saying its common but it happens. If something is overused or overpowered, it should be balanced. It may be annoying in the short term, but it's better for the long-term life of the game.
But Blizz doesn't really balance anything. If something unique pops up that is good to use, they nerf it and then what? Everyone goes to the most basic of basic things since anything exotic isn't worth the effort

If what you said was true, then WW barbs would of had their fury nerfed out as bad as VQ was taken away from WDIt seems like they are finally doing that now to WW barbs but it went on forever while they waved the 'balance' nerf on so many other things

I guess my point is, anything interesting with D3 is meant to be lame and stay lame since if it was good it is said to be an 'exploit'. MtG goes the other way and encourages innovation, let it run its course, then make changes. If MtG was the same, they would nerf so many things and make everyone play basic fireball decks vs basic control decks vs basic life decks.. etc..

    by most players

It may be since the really really 'most players' have been banned from D3's forums for voicing their displeasure since launch.. so best to say 'most players that are left who do not bother Blizz too much'
