Passives:
Temporal Flux: Arcane Damage slows 30%
Critical Mass: Critical hits recudes cooldowns, and I will have 3 skills with small cooldowns.
Unstable Anomaly: For the OH SH*T moment.
Active:
Arcane Torrent+Death Blossom: Channeled Spell giving 670% Arcane damage...but it is random.
Magic Missle+Seeker: Arcane Damage that seeks target. Good enough
Slow Time+Time Warp: enemies take +20% damage
Wave of Force +Exploding Wave: chain waves force...sounds good.
Diamond Skin+Prism and Storm Armor+Power of the storm: this will cut my casting cost of arcane torrent in half.
The idea is to run up to a mob. slow time+diamond skin then death blossom until I have around 30-40 AP left and then cast WoF. Then MM what is left.
Not sure how viable, but it is worth a try.

I want to travel to exotic places, meet interesting people. And then throw spider-filled jars of pottery at them.
It is nice, don't get me wrong, but seeing as how I'm bored, and just got off work after 17 hours I gotta make some changes and propose an alternate path in before i fall asleep so don't be surprised if some sentences don't make sense ! Zzzzzz
Arcanot with Astral Presence and PoTS will totally destroy the need for prism.... because those 3 will reduce your ap use of DB by 7.... so in mathematical lingo you can cross out Prism. by adding arcanot and Astral Presence, you could keep Prism if you wanted, but there would be no reason not to do Crystal shell or enduring skin (without evocation passive), you'll up your defense, get to where you can cast CS and Slow Time all constantly even without critical mass.
Second Arcane dynamo adds 75% to a spell's damage, if you cast DB with that, it would be way more damaging.... and if your really bent on using magic missile, you could have AD up and ready all the time.....
With a base regen of 10 ap a second, and Arcanot Astral Presence PoTS or: PoTSArcaAP you would lose 3 ap a second, whenever you cast DB for however long you want to cast it, not limiting your self to the shackles of Prism..... Free your mind !
If you want some real overkill, get that templar with 1 pt ap regen skill... put it down to 2 ap a second, with 120 ap at least, you could do it for a full minute of 670% weapon damage, plus 75% of that damage added, and clear out the whole room....
So , PoTSArcaAP = Prism ap benefit, (24/7) Sounds good doesn't it, Yeeeeeeees Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Zzzzzz
the great thing about death blossom is that its supposedly a fire and forget spell. that means that spamming as many death blossoms as possible should be the goal. Im using a similar concept for my Wizzy build:
1) generate 8 AP per signature cast and add that to the +10/sec AP passive means that i can just about cast a Death Blossom every 2 seconds (taking into account GCDs).
2) utilizes a nice Arcane Dynamo synergy. Arcane Dynamo works great with with Death Blossoms. Arcane Dynamo also works great with Archon (w/ Arcane Destruction AOE) because you can easily frontload some kills thus extending the archon time (+1 second per kill).
3) Cannoneer pet shoots AOE arcane shots so it will help keep the screen Slowed as death blossom is random targeting the cannoneer will provide some nice CC (/w temporal flux)
4) Teleport Reversal works great with Archon /w Arcane Destruction. Tele in cast Archon and get AOE then reversal out and hit the mobs from range with beefed up archon casts. Arcane Destruction works with Acane Dynamo really well. This is useful in front loading some early kills really early thus extending the amount of time archon is up.
5) temporal flux is really exploited in this build as every spell does arcane damage. (no such thing as Immunes in D3)
6) great survivability with Energy Armor. any of the runes are great here
As far as I know Death Blossom is a channeled spell, just like Volatility, which is why a lot of my builds have both of them with arcane dynamo (sometimes) and why I even mention it with AD in the same post. You get AD, hold down DB and keep holding it down of course, before pressing it, Diamond skin might not be a bad idea if there are monsters around ya....
Why bother having arcane destruction on Archon, archon has the highest cooldown of all the spells you have, volatility alone would give you a 35% chance to do 395% weapon damage every time you kill something.... without surrounding yourself with a bunch of monsters, that might beat the stuffing out of you before you get to teleport back out... Improved Archon seems like a better one, you get 25% more damage (so it is as good as glass cannon and familiar with damage combined, and why not do those too )
I also think if your actually going to use energy shield, penetrating blast with prodigy should give you more ap a shot, maybe, if you get 4 points every time you deal damage with it and it pierces at least twice then you would get 12 points of ap a shot, if it pierces more, even better... it might not work like that, but if it does it could be useful for maintaining energy armor depends on if there needs to be a second or two between damage done.
As far as I know Death Blossom is a channeled spell, just like Volatility,
word on the street its fire and forget and not channeled like the other torrent spells. I read that not too long ago and its been verified "supposedly"... If death blossom is in fact channeled then id just sub out death blossom with Arcane orb of some sort; most likely the one that pierces targets (this spell also works great with Arcane Dynamo so its all good). I really like the idea of having a nice fire and forget spell so i can multitask easier
As far as everything else you said.. yea just how i prefer to play the game.. dont really agree with your reasoning.
Teleporting into the middle of the monsters on higher difficulty as a wizard will increase the chance to die dramatically....
Archon does have the highest cooldown possible, the skills may be great but a rune that gives you an explosion at the beginning can't possibly do as much damage as the one that gives 25% more damage to every spell cast...
I'll bet that at higher difficulties neither one of these will be frequently used or depended on strategies...

I really don't know if this build will work...but it looks like it will be really fun to try.
