Patch 1.0.5a is Live
The update to the patch went live in the Americas today. As we noted yesterday, there are not a lot of changes going on. It is mainly just some bug fixes.
Diablo III patch 1.0.5a is now live in the Americas. Check out the full patch notes below to learn about all the latest changes.
Important: Please note that you will not be prompted to download patch 1.0.5a until the patch is live in your home region. If you are logging in from a European or Asian client, you will need to wait for this patch to release in that region before it can be installed. Additionally, if your home region is the Americas, you will be unable to log into Europe or Asia using Global Play after patch 1.0.5a is live until those regions have also patched.
Fixed a crash that could occur on a machine with eight or more core processors
Fixed some additional service crashes
Fixed a variety of truncated tooltips (applies only to Italian, Polish, and Russian clients)

Starting Characters on MP10
A player on Battle.net suggested the idea of playing a new character on MP 10. Nakatoir replied to his idea and included a fun extra option to make the game more challenging.
I was looking into creating a new extreme purist health phobia character again after my last one died tragically. Combining that concept from a while back with the Monster Power 10 from level 1 idea here will be really cool. I am quite afraid though and feel I would not really get very far.
Wish you all the best of luck, really impressed with the progress of some of the players in this thread!
what is a purist health phobia character?
It is a set of item and stat limitations that you place upon yourself to increase the difficulty of the game. You can find the thread about it here. Was a lot of fun, just as I can see this being a really enjoyable style of play as well
Act II Farming Route
With Uber bosses and keys now on player's to-do-lists, new farming routes are needed. Act I and Act III have pretty set routes but Act II still remains debate. Grimiku, from Blizzard, commented on his suggested route to farm elites.
Banner Location in Bastion's Keep When I start a game in the Keep or step out of my town portal I often walk right into it and have to click out of achievements. Move it to the other side of the quest portal please.
We have been seeing feedback on this topic and agree that in Bastions Keep the location of the players banner and Town Portal may be a little too close. We’re currently looking at possible options and adjusting the position of player banners in Act III (just like your suggestion) is one, or even moving the portal itself. What Would a Bard Sing?
If a bard were to sing a tale about your hero’s courageous deeds, what would the song be titled? #D3 (Source)
Thats the same route I've used since 1.0.4 for act 2, except I stop at the vault. Stopping at the vault gives you a checkpoint inside, so if you start a new game, you can step outside the vault door and mark its location on the desolate sands map.
Actually I just go straight to the Oasis. Theres plenty enough elite packs there. Infact if you end the session and reload after killing the warden you get warped to the entrance for one of the dungeons in the quest line and that generally alway's contains 3 packs of elites anyway as a primer to each farming run.
Elaborate please overneathe. I see debates for all 3 acts daily.
What Molster said.
Also that has been the exact route I've been using for A2 since release pretty much.
A1 seems like a good refresher after these months of A2 farming, but A3... just don't like the art there that much.
I'd mostly like to farm A4, but it's a bit lackluster still.
1. Leorics Manor -> Head inside towards southeast of map to go outside (sometimes 1 elite) -> Outside (1-2) elites
2. Festering Woods -> Clear entire map usually (1-2) elites + event -> Both inside areas (1) elite each
3. Cemetery of the Forsaken (0-1) outside -> Inside each crypts 1-2, don't go to second level if its the correct one
4. Cathedral Level 3 -> Usually (1) elite right by WP, can be (1-2) southeast towards Templar spot.
5. Halls of Agony 2 (random) -> Cursed Hold (1-5) elites -> Halls of Agony 3 (random) -> Butcher
Optional: Right outside town, clear to the cemetary can get between 1-5 elites.
I used to do Highlands -> Watchtower before Leorics but now that its in Southern I haven't bothered to try to add it back in.

I think scyber wrote that small part, me and over were talking just today about ACT 1.
