There are justifications for Force Armor in high level Rifts. With my ~15M toughness, a regular Lacuni Slasher hits me for over 66% of my life with Prismatic on. Force Armor can mitigate that to 35%. However, I will have a tougher time surviving against DoTs like Frozen and Molten. Pick your poison.
I pick Force Armor, staying out of Molten, and Talisman of Aronach amulet All those people saying Xephirian amulet is Best in slot for a wizard are flatly wrong. you can MOVE OUT of TStorm, you can't escape Frozen
Is it even worth it to change from my equipped firebirds, show below, to one with 17% fire, 9.5% crit, and 8% elite damage, should I be able to eventually roll it? Hate to lose the Vitality.
Finally broke through and finished tier 41 today with a serpent sparker and blazing hydra. Tried 42 for the first time and was pretty overwhelmed. Gonna need some more practice and good RNG to finish that one. Not really sure what else I can do gear wise except get some good T&T and level them paragons. Found two T&Ts but both were trash unfortunately.
Kind of feel like I've peaked, but I am going to keep pushing.
Once you hit 39, 40, and higher RNG is the major issue. Exarchs, Winged assassins, Density, hostile map...completion is almost all RNG.
I think they should do to GRs what they did to Trials. Divide the mobs into groups, populate the rift levels with different mixes of mobs, remove traps AND Shrines, and probably buff density across the board. That's what needs to be done.
alright, another question, what about amu and rings, what stats should i aim on that ? is +20% fire dmg beter then intt/cc/chd ?
your ideal amulet would be fire %. socket, CC, CHD. As too WHICH amulet, anything you can roll those stats on. Hellfire amulets and immunity amulets are highly sought after.
Rings, Stone of Jordan (+20% Fire, 30% elite, 50% CHD OR 500 int, and socketed), the other ring is usually Unity for soloing...it's still really good in groups with the 15% elite damage, 5 CC, and 500 int/50 CHD.
yow, ive been wondering this for a while, but how come furnace is the best weapon.
a furnace is max +50% elite dmg, while a sunkeeper + firebird eye ( +magefist cause you free up a firebird slot) is 30% elite dmg, 40% fire dmg, 10% crit, more primary stat and if you get a rly good eye you get another 10% elite dmg
Now you've gone and done it. There's a sizable debate on actually how much Furnace is better then SK + Eye and Devastator + Eye. It stacks up to something like Furnace is best on Elites, Devastator best on whites, and Sun Keeper a mix of both. However, the math I saw clearly caveats the Furnace wins out if you take advantage of Firebird snapshotting damage increase of Black Hole + Strongarms, which we ALL do, in which case the Furnace is something clearly and considerably better.
Of course, this was in mathspeak, and these people are wizards to me. I got lost after the first decimal.
I don't see any mention on how to properly allocate paragon pts for this firebirds build. Any suggestions on where to allocate pts for someone around 220 para pts doing seasons?
MS>Resource>Int
CC/CHD (keep one to ten ratio) CDR;
All Resist>Armor>Life Regen
Life on Hit > RCR >Splash Damage will take you to 600.
Does this build benefits from Attack Speed ?? I was thinking that if I get a good RoRG, having a slot, I'd be able to use Tal Rasha amulet and helm. That way I'd benefit from it's third passive + the whole firebird .. Is that a viable option? The problem is that almost every RoRG has attack speed.. :\
IAS increases Mammoth Hydra and Blizzard damage. It does not affect Black Hole, or the Firebird dot. It's not a terrible stat to have, and most people will probably have a bit on their Firebird Talons until they manage to snag a pair of Firebirds they can roll off the IAS for Int/Vit/CC/CHD
completely wrong! mammoth hydra and blizzard are not affected by IAS. this is the most useless stat you can have on your gear right now...
Oops. I screwed the pooch. It's Blazing Hydra thats affected by IAS. Misread the post. For some reason, I thought it was Mammoth that was affected by IAS.

I really need to make a video of this one of these days. Firebird is a true L2P kind of build. Sometimes it's just better to see it in action.
Couple questions:
Does placing Hydra further away from the target increase Hydra damage (a la Zei's?)
Why do I see (presumably) solo wizards using Conflagerate? As far as I know, it does not affect blizzard, Hydra, OR Firebird DoT.
What do you think of Dominance as a Passive?
6. Hydra positioning just involves placing it a distance away from the target to maximize Zei's output. That's all. It's incredibly easy to set up, the trail stacks on top of one another, and you can also recast Hydra to bypass its APS.
I had NO idea Hydra damage was increased by Zei's. I have been placing the Hydra as close as posssible to the mob so the fire always nailed him. It's worth it to recast Hydra every time he shoots to reset the APS then, as well?
Boy, was I doing it wrong.
