i dont like the spectral blade skill at all.... i hate how it looks and the sound. would be cool if they could change that a lot
I personally only reckon it was made for physical immunity monster reasons, I keep looking at the skill for some use right now and I just can't see really using it unless its more useful then it appears in the grand scheme of the game.
I can see most my points going into the passive skills on the conjure tree though and the vast majority into the lightning and arcane trees, if these skills interact with how I hope they do I reckon things like magic impact, weapon mastery, empowered magic, storm power, lethal energy, arcane power, penetrating magic, etc will make wizards very powerful with high end equipment.
WHOT, will the damage of spells just do around 1-10 in damage!?
l"aunch a volley of 3 electric bolts that deal 1-8 lightning damage each. Critical hits from lightning damage stun targets for 2 seconds."
I want skills that can do much more damage, so it is more vary, like a spells in its max level maybe does 2000-10000 dmg and not so small damage area.
Stats increase the damage obviously, but that kind of damage would be overkill, I don't want classes again that can spec out those kind of damage outputs because it destroyed much of the game much like the hammerdins did with diablo 2.

Does anyone know if the skills will be like in Guild Wars where you can have different builds on the same character? Those of you who played GW would know what the heck I'm talking about. ^^; You can take away and add points when and where you needed them depending on the build. I really didn't like the fact that in D2 once you had one build, you would need to make another character to play another build (ie: I had an Ice Orb Sorc and a Fire Sorc).
You can respec but you can't do it like guild wars (think wow system respecs).

This kinda explains why blizzard made auto-stats. In their mind, it would make too many variables to characters, and would make things confusing and not enjoyably to the majority to players.
I think thats pretty obvious specially when you look at some of the wizards skills that rely on increase via your characters stats, it would have made for awesome variation but would have left a many people confused, it is a pity they didn't keep stats though because we could have made some very interesting wizard builds.
