The graphics on Rift have so much more detail in my opinion. Just because WoW came first doesn't mean it can't become obsolete
I reccommend Rift to everyone here, unless you've spent your life on WoW to whcih I understand your anger.
Ehh, graphics aren't the highest priority on my list, it really looks like a carbon copy of WoW imo and the whole slogan "we're not on Azeroth anymore" doesn't help its case.
Again WoW/Blizz aren't worried about Rift and shouldn't have to be, Rift ain't doing anything special as far as I can tell and unless devs can come up with some innovation, Blizz is going to dominate the MMORPG market for years to come.
So Rift did not fail badly and it's actually an amazing game. The interface is sort of like WoW but the game is original and innovative. If there is a game that WoW is worrying about right now, it's gonna be this one.

It was just released and I doubt any MMO dev would be worried especially Blizz. From what I've seen the interface is not wort of like WoW it's exactly like WoW, right down to the chat log and the floating names. The last MMO to directly take on WoW was Warhammer: AoK, how did that turn out?
If there's any MMO to contend with WoW its either gonna be SW:TOR or GW2
My point is that AoS was not a game in itself, it was a mod in a game. And LoL is entirely based on that mod, the entire gameplay aspect, the heroes, roles etc.
Also, one big reason there are a lot of F2P is because it's a very easy way to make money, they are almost always profitable even if they only last for a month.
AoS and DotA birthed a whole new genre of game which is called MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, look it up). LoL's gameplay aspect is not DotA's, they share the core game aspects (choose heros, minion waves, leveling up, etc) but going further than that they are vastly different (denying/no denying, focus on creep/focus on hero killing, shrub/no shrub, buff reward/money reward, etc.) So no, LoL might have derived from DotA/AoS but it evolved into its own game entirely.
I'm sure DnD Online is still going past a month, LotR Online is still going past a month, LoL is still going past a month, Maplestory is still going past a month, hell even RuneScape is still going past a month.
Okay, idiocy aside, no I don't believe it will. Sure it has good graphics, but so does Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, Aion, and other MMO's that other people predicted would be the downfall of WoW, this one will be no different, why?
I think it's too early to judge but I predict the gameplay will be closely similar to your standard MMO based on a fantasy setting, as again done with many previous failed MMOS (failed in the terms that they didn't dethrone WoW).
And besides the only way WoW will truly die off is two options:
A ) New Blizzard MMO comes out
B )Fanbase leaves

Rift's new slogan "We're not in Azeroth anymore?" Really? Talk about arrogance, Rift is going to fail badly and I will laugh.
