PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

good point i was thinking wrong lol
(i got fiber internet) on the other hand i think there should be a low quality one then a link to a high qualitiy page (for people who can handle it ofc)
low quality - no gifs and small pic sizes (in terms of kb)
high quality- gifs/ good graphics
I don't know how that would work, and instinctively I don't think lots of animations are going to make people more happy with the wiki as they visit it. Personally I think pages start to look unprofessional when there's too much going on and moving around. Small nice animations works though.
Pictures shouldn't ever be a problem anymore, most people can load a static web page fast enough for for high-resolution not to be a problem, unless

but i am sorta against using fanart for the main page (assuming thats only the stuff included) if we do use it we should have a mix of both reg d2 ingame art and usermade fanart
Personally I think it's awesome. I mean, the quality needs to be high, but we have people here that can perform well enough for that.

also i think we need the entire page to have gifs for the animation for the important areas for a better visual affect
Like Zhar, I disagree with this. While I like gifs in the content pages, it really should be kept on the lower end for the most part. Besides, we can't get any gifs for D3 or lore anyway.

Would make it much more streamlined, instead of the system we have now where certain categories aren't standard to each game, take D1, it only has the characters, while D2 has much more content displayed on the main page.
Well like I've said, we don't have a lot of articles on it, and I prefer not to add dead links to the main page. So far it's the classes, a few quest pages and item pages I think.

I'm also in for the contest, I'd like to see that happen, we've certainly got talent round' here.
Ok, let's see if we can start up a site contest in a while. We just need to figure out what kind of images we need.
With a redesign and if links are moved to the left, focus should be on D3 and Lore. D2 and D1 will have to settle for being in the rim.
That leaves us with a couple of images that could be on the page. I'm thinking one for each class, one angel and one demon.
Or we could do one image with all four classes, one with an angel and demon, and one with some other monster or book for lore. It all depends in what you actually want to remain on the main page space.

on the topic of redesign does imagemaps even work or not?
I have no idea. Regardless, the design should be able to stand on its own without the use of them, so that's something that could be implemented afterwards I believe.

Several people have now pointed out that the main page of the wiki could use a redesign. So I want to know how you all want it to look.
Previously, the main page didn't have all the links in the left navbars, which led me to create the page we have today with lots of links. Perhaps this is not the best solution however.
One of the first improvements we could do I think is to adopt the fold-out function wikia uses on their sites. http://diablo.wikia.com/wiki/Diablo_Wiki
When you hover over a link in the left, you get an addition menu popping out, and so forth, allowing you to navigate to specific pages quickly.
This would allow us to make the main page less cluttered. How would you all like to see the main page look?
Another change, suggested by IanX was that we get some of our artists here on Dfans to make some fanart for us to show on the main page. Perhaps instead of using Blizzard's Barbarian model, we get some art done by one of our users here
So any suggestions any of you might have, post them here and we'll discuss it.

But are we counting on having this main page in the future? The idea was to trim down the main page and move things to the sidebar right?
Sixen means the barbarian and monk from Diablo I, not Diablo III.
