I just wish they hit the spot with the whole "dueling system". If it allows us to make custom duels (1x3, 1x1, 2x1, 4 free for all) and actually use the arenas they've already made, it would be awesome. Plus, ears. We definitely need ears.
What possible reason would there be for deleting this thread. Saying "I'll let this live" implies there is something wrong with what the OP has done. Please explain what that may be?
Locking is different than deleting. He never said anything about deleting. Locking sends a message: "you're doing it wrong, try it again" (to the OP and to other users).
Simply moving the thread doesn't help us educate our users to use the forums properly (and it clutters the original forum with redirecting links). It also makes people lazy since they can just create the thread anywhere since a mod will move it anyways.
We still move most threads instead of locking them - yeah, go figure. I guess we just like the community and don't wanna be annoying pricks.
If it was just to remind everyone that you're a Mod and can delete things that you personally don't like but that don't violate forum rules, then I feel sorry for you, that being a forum Mod gives you such a power trip.
Yeah, cause we do that all the time here, right? You must be new around here.
Sorry but your short post reeks of ego.
Not really. But your comment does. Pretending to know the underlying reason for the actions of someone like overneathe (who has been a fair moderator for almost a year and a half now) is the arrogant attitude here. I'm farily sure that isn't the attitude DF expects of their members.
If we were to write essays to explain everything we do in detail to keep the forums as organized and as clean as possible, because someone will misunderstand the intentions of those actions due to our "short posts", I'm pretty sure we'd waste quite some time - ours and our users'.
