last i checked the storyline of hardcore was kill or be killed. I hear players are much friendlier on the softcore realm....play there if you can't protect your char.
That's okay, we'll play in the non-PK games of Diablo III and be quite content enjoying the game itself.

If that is implimented then everyone will set their games to non-pk and then the only games that will be PK-able would be duel games.. or games that will eventually be turned into duel games because PKers only have a choice of 1 or 2 out of thousands of games which they can join.
PK and Griefing happens on WoW pvp servers all the time. The 2 million players who play on those realms seem fine with that.
They didn't mind because they knew that it came with the territory of the servers that they chose to play on, specialized servers that not everyone was forced to play on.

Learn to play. 6-7 people could easily kill a hammerdin.
If every one of them just so happened to be using characters with PvP builds and were a decent enough level to stand a chance. But of course, I'm sure every game you've ever played, the characters have always been of optimum builds, with optimum gear and optimum levels, so you've never had to worry about a thing.

If Blizzard had that philosophy they'd be making Sims 3 under a code name. In fact, Diablo II sold relatively badly...
Let's be real. If Diablo II were selling bad, why has the price not gone down in the last 5 years? The Battle Chest still remains $40, and D2 classic and the expansion are still being sold at $20 each. When you sell poorly, you lower your prices to sell more, retail stores stop stocking them or you stop distributing it altogether.
I want to grief people and if you don't like it, you must suck as a person.
This is pretty much exactly what you are saying, though I'm sure you'll be here shortly to deny it. I don't always make these games, I like joining others' games and meeting them. But how can you open any kind of dialogue when the chat log is filled with "u suck", "n00b" and "pwnt"? Your flimsy excuses for wanting to maintain a gaming experience where the common player will have no fun is sickening.

One other note: By incorporating a system that allows for hostile actions against non-consensual players, you cater to both groups. Carebears have their private games to avoid this style of play. If you remove this feature, you cater to one group and completely exclude the other.
One choice gives both sides options, one does not.
You claim it caters to both, but it clearly does not. How does your system of disruptive gameplay and broken immersion cater to the people who want to enjoy the gaming experience itself? It does not, so stop pretending to speak for a crowd you simply know nothing about.
I am really tired of everyone suggesting that those of us who want PK disabled in D3 to "go back to WoW". I, for one, have never played WoW, and never will. I enjoyed Diablo II for a good number of years, and want to be able to enjoy Diablo III in all its glory without the assholery of hackers and griefers breaking the immersion. I want to be able to meet other players and perhaps even make some friends along the way, not be forced to play by myself (may as well just play single-player if that would be the case). You can't make friends if you don't go out and mingle, and you can't mingle if you lock up your games where no one can randomly enter and greet you.
What you pro-PK children are proposing is called a "catch-22". Look it up and get back to us.

If that's what it has to be called to remove a blight from the gaming experience, sure thing.
Not too dissimilar from burglary, rape or murder in real life, is it?
Not anymore. Adapt or die, son.

Good, then it's settled and we're in agreement.
By the way, nice "double post".

Morality? This is business we're talking here. The only philosophy at work here would be the philosophy of cold hard cash.

I've always loved this argument. "Even though I'm the only one that thinks so, this is how it should be and the rest of you are stupid."
Then that, my friend, would by nature make it "what's best". Don't you agree?
