I don't remember saying "bad" in general. But they did sell much less than StarCraft, WoW, or Sims.

why has the price not gone down in the last 5 years? The Battle Chest still remains $40, and D2 classic and the expansion are still being sold at $20 each.
I thought D2 costs $10 now but I am not really sure. The price may not have gone down because people are still buying it, but these sales are pretty minuscule compared to the original sales they had. I also had no idea how much it cost when it came out since I lived in a different country.
What's best is defined by philosophy and morality, which for most people is different, so we get difference of opinions. Those who decide are Blizzard here, not us.
Will they and should they remove PK are 2 completely different arguments. Perhaps Blizzard will sell out to the carebears and remove PK, should they sell out to the carebears? Most certainly not.
Why should they sell out to PKers but not carebears?

No, I just have a moral viewpoint that when one person receives pleasure in exchange of another person displeasure, they should be redirected to Giedi Prime. I'm a deist, you see.
PK's are the cyber equivalent of bullys... bullys deserve to be beaten up, severely. And what do most bullys do when they are hurt? Sit down and cry. It's much easier to beat up someone in comparion to being beat up yourself.
I kinda don't understand you, still. We have these divisions right now:
West, East, Asia, Europe
Sofcore, Hardcore, Ladder, Non-Ladder
I don't remember anyone saying community was divided or something. I am not exactly sure what it means, a divided community. I play with random people and I don't care what community they belong to as long as they are all good people.
If we have PVP Hardcore, PvP Softcore, PvE Hardcore, PvE Softcore, it's going to divide the community way too much.
That must be some tiny community if it can't be divided into 4. WoW has tons of tons of tons of different forms of servers. Diablo's community may be smaller, but it's not THAT small. Besides, the fact of choice will bring in more people anyway.
diablo isnt an endless void of xp grinding, you can hit 80 in 2 days and get to the end game PVP wich is what the online play is basicly meant for at this point.
I can't. That's the problem. In order to get to PvP, you have to go to the loopholes. In Nox, there are no loopholes. You install the game, go to Multiplayer, join someone's game, and PvP with them fair and square. No need to level, trade, find friends to rush you or any of that crap.

when i say wow i mean every single MMORPG created in the last 4 years or so.
if you don't want to play them, than don't.
I hate MMORPG's. Why do you advise people like me to play them? What do they have to do with Diablo?
Do they have a click system? Do they let you kill all monsters in the area without them respawning back the next instant? Do they let you play alone or in small groups (in MMO's there's always tons of people running in all directions). Do they give you ANY control of the battle besides what skills to use (in DII, I remind you, you can move).
Or perhaps you don't realize why games like Diablo are different from MMORPG's? You think it's just the online system? It's not.

diablo III will be just like every other MMORPG created if there is no real pvp without player to play consent.
Nox has real PvP and PvP is only possible with player consent lol... I don't understand you. Tons of games have PvP without having it embedded into PvE. DIII will have PvP arenas, that's where people with equal levels and equipment are going to play. That's true PvP. PK is not PvP, it's garbage.

im just aggrivated by how scared people are of getting your charachter killed in a game, because that means that i cant have the thrill i seek.
Why can't you? They can have an open PvP zone. Tons of MMORPG's have open PvP zones, mind you.
What Hack&Slash is faster? Alien Shooter. Much faster, much dumber. What PvP is faster? Nox's is. Much faster and more skill dependant.

randomization is the exact oposite of repeditveness because your doing something different every single time.
Randomization means areas become bland. Look at Diablo II. Take the catacombs. All 3 levels are fucking exactly the same. Repetative. Wall placements do not make an area unique, you know. Take Diablo I. It has tons of levels of dungeons, then catacombs, then whatever. Yes, you get to go in a different direction every time. Doesn't change the fact that they are still the same and posses nothing unique. But at least DI had things like the butcher and leoric to spice things up.

without the internet assholes being allowed to do theyr role diablo would be a boring as hell endless void of xp grinding just like wow.
Because Dialbo IS a boring as hell endless void of XP grinding and THAT's what the developers fucking need to fix - they need to make hte game fun, not a grind, not an XP chase, which DII eventually became. If DII is the same as WoW except PK, it is WORTHLESS. But I belive DII is a bit more than that. Or could be a bit more.

i play wow, or did for a long while. now THAT is fucking repeditive to an entirely new level and if you dont agree with me your insane 0.o
I didn't realy find WoW all that different. I tried it, got bored after a few days. DII lasts longer, but not online. Online it's just as bad. in SP you can at least do /players 8 and make the game harder. In MP you are stuck playing alone for hours because you can't join public games since you're going to be PKed. Greeaaaaaaat.
