So, I definitely agree that Mana is not the proper delivery for the Witch Doctors resource pool, however I don't think that your proposed method of Leaching life to sustain your casting abilities works either. The method that you describe limits the caster within what spells he or she uses at the cost of HP. This would have a negative impact on soloing especially because each attack would have to be weighed as weather or not it was worth the loss of your HP at one time. If anything I would think that some form of energy would be utilized, where that energy comes from, I don't know. I think I ll leave that one to the game designers.
ofc this is assuming any of you get keys which i cant say anyting about..
we do need rival groups as compared to dfans staff.
All I ment by beta/release was "the first day we get the game".
I'm Down, I was just clarifying that you meant that the clan/guild/whatever it is to be called was going to focus on leveling/gearing up chars so that a good group could be formed. I cant really commit to specific times becuase of work but it looks like you want to keep it real/un structured.
Worms Reloaded is Worms Armagedon modernized and available on Steam for 20$. If you have people to play it with, (you can play up to 4 on 1 computer no problem, obviously), then get it, its not quite like the good old days, but its just as hilarious.
If you want something like Diablo, there's almost nothing, but there's a topic in General Discussion that asked about games like Diablo, and there was quite a few answers.
[quote=ShadowGoat;/comments/1125580] I am interested in is setting up a group of people who are serious about PvP. We have no idea what kind of guild support there is in D3 and frankly, I could care less about a tag infront of my characters name. I'm just interested in bringing 4-12 serious competitive players to help each other out in PvP.
Area's where this group won't focus on:
Roleplaying
PvE
Trying to be the largest guild.
Trying to be the most "feared".
Trying to be the "friendliest".
Trying to be the most respected.
Trying to be richest.
Essentially, we will create 1-3 teams of 4. We will focus on:
Competitive PvP
Discovering new builds
Discovering new game mechanics
Improving our skill & reaction times
Practice against each other
Rush each others characters to prototype new builds
Hunt down gear for each other
etc... all to improve our PvP game.
Some things to note:
- We will be in US servers. I'm on the east coast if timezones are an issue for you.
- Don't expect insane amount of playtime, just be on "enough". People have school, work, social life (I hope).
If your interested, leave a message here letting me know. I'll send you a PM regarding a few questions.
Any questions?
Are we talking throughout the leveling process, or just end game?
Being someone who cannot dedicate my entire life to playing Diablo I find it very discouraging when I cannot be as godly as most in the game. Im not saying I don't appreciate the hard work it goes into creating a godly character but I cannot afford 12 hours a day it seems to take to find good items. So my question: Is there anything being done to D3 that will even the playing field for those who can play all day everyday, or is "godly" still going to be a term reserved for those extreme gamers?
I hope it is. Like anything, weather in life, or games, it should take time to develop the skills/neccesary attributes/items to attain a certain level of proficiency. If you want to be godly and have a full time job buy stock in redbull and stay awake pills. I like sleep just as much as anyone else, but I gaurantee you that when D3 comes out I will sleep 1-2 hours a night, and work 50 plus hours a week.
Here's an incomplete list of games I played. Broaden your experience. Personally, I'm waiting for D3 and wanting it because I have little else: I played so many things already!
Thats PC only, by the way. I don't expect you to use the list, but I like copy-pasting a huge list.

After looking at your list, I say, for the most part, been there done that, I usually go back to a few staples, which always seem to be Blizz games. I did see Dues Ex on there and I have to agree, best FPS ever for PC. I have to see if I still have a copy. Worms armageddon was awwsome and If I could find a copy that played on windows xp, vista, or 7 I would spend hours killing other worms. Serious Sam is always a fave but it cant maintain my focus for more than a couple of levels. All great games thanks for the post, I think im looking for something more geared towards a similar lore/expierence as the Diablo series though.
Hi all, I'm constantly viewing the forum for new information, hoping that some new tid-bit of information will be released that will keep me going until the beta/release date. Alas I am usually left wanting, and I don't seem to even want to play another game. I pop on to SC2, WOW, even D2, but always seem to become un-interested with whatever I am playing. Does anyone have any suggestions for a great game that will help to fill the gap?
I been playing Diablo since start of diablo 1, and always loved it. (I was abut 14-15 when it came out)
Diablo series have been my main game's over the years. I playd ALOT of other games to, And thers alot good ones out there.
But nothing compare to Diablo feeling. I played trough D2 last time for abut 3 month ago.(Ofc on all modes)
But its kinda outdated:P But still very enjoyable (kinda annoying that Hell is pretty much imposable to solo with a sorceress)
Wouldn't it be fun if the 2005 D3 that was canceled been out by now.. And the diablo we all wating so badly on been Diablo 4?:D
I recently received an email from the Mythos Team and enclosed is 10 beta keys. Since I've already registered mine I thought to myself that I could give a few to you guys if you're interested, either post in this thread or send me a pm if you want one
Lucky recipients: Umpa, SFJake, Mephisto_Quente, Sean Tocker.
Only 5 more keys left!!
NB: if you don't know how to use the beta key, I can tell you that you need a froggster online account and activate it from manage games
Flyarion
Flyarion... I would love one if you still have any and wouldn't mind throwing one my way. PM me!!
I would only assume that Diablo's size would stay fairly consistent to the other games. He didnt really seem as though he was overscaled in the orig two games, and I dont think Blizz is trying to re-create his presence.

Granted, although once you begin to play diablo three the universe begins to colapse, and the world ends just 15 minutes into playing it.
I wish that Blizzard would give us a release date with beta keys for all diablofans users.
Thanks!
Gotta have frenzy, its a must...
Gotta maintain huge burst damage...
Gotta support a huge HP...
Just thinking
