I have a frenzy barb that can uber fairly well, the only drawbacks are that it is very expensive(in game) to aquire the gear neccesary to maintain it. I love frenzy barbs becuase of the speed buffs that are involved.
My opinion (having built both types multiple times) is that the frenzy barb is more fun to play.
Hello MrZap... I think I might have a 3.5 floppy disk with one of your ears on it still from Diablo. LOL just kidding. Very nice to have you here. Welcome to the FORUM
Well a lot comes down to botting/duping in D2. Going with melee char in D2 hell on Single Player mode was seriously hell, especially with something like barbarian. But with best gear it's was easy.

I never felt that Hell was difficult, running any character once they were geared properly and had points evenly distributed. In my experience the only truly difficult task was the repetition. A well/modestly geared char, no matter what make/build should be able to SOLO the game without very much difficulty. There are of course one off situations when you have a build specifically driven towards one aspect of the game that might make it more difficult to run.
I hope that in Diablo 3 though that the game truly embraces the difficulty sections.
I'd like to see a similar system as Diablo II, but I know it will be more integrated into the gameplay and storyline. Also, I would like to see more customization of mercenaries than existed in Diablo II, such as choosing skills and being able to fully gear your mercenaries. I also think it would be interesting (and the likely won't happen) if we could issue in-battle "commands" to our mercenaries, such as telling the mercenary to attack a particular target. This could make battle strategy more complex, but at the same time it may be a variable that they don't want to throw in, or they may deem that adding this extra level of complexity could make the game too difficult to play.
Dont get your hopes up though, Zayl isnt a part of the Sin War books. Even if i love Zayl and his companion Humbart, i still believe Mendeln or Rathma will show up as the necromancer NPCs.
Anyone else who have any thought on this?
Although I think it would be cool to see these characters as NPC's, but I doubt it will happen. First as posted earlier by Scyber, he reminded us that the NPC's will be carrying over from D2. Neither of these two have previously been in the game/side of the franchise so I don't think they'll be adding them now. I would look more to be seeing a return from Nihlathak, or something like that.
Welcome cravey. Wish you the best on the job search. Congrats on getting married, it is a good institution, never the less still an institution and I constantly feel like I'm going crazy...
Well we're missing some important stuff, like what type of video cards.
Also 2gb is no good if you want to game.
indeed.....
Unless you want to play for a short periode of time, but you wil have yourself in dire need of more ram very soon, if u take onlt 2gb, i suggest atleast 3-4gb.
The amount of Ram that you run depends on how your system will access it, if your chip only works symetrically then 3gb is no good, you need to keep each slot the same, I think.... I defer to the PC GODS. Look for something upgradable, with a good motherboard, maybe ASUS because they are not proprietary, and get what you can afford now, to upgrade it later. Keep the power supply 500 watts plus to support a good graphics card, and make sure that your RAM is expandable to 16 GB, try and jump on the I3, I5, or I7 band wagon while your looking too if your price point allows.
It would make him tough to play and balance I agree there But I think there are a few things going for him too. Such as Being a caster with meat shields, Having skills to avoid damage/recoup energy, and have traits that synergize really well with it (like death pact). Also, Remember that it is not permanent damage it would slowly regenerate the cost of a casting.
It's not perfect, and I think there ought to be some kind of buffer, but I haven't thought of what it might be or how it would work. Yet.
I dunno. I thought of this and Was like: That's it that's what the Doc's missing! people on the street stared at me like I was a maniac.
Its definitely a well thought through idea, i just don't like the idea of relying on a system that sacrifices HP for casting ability.
I don't think that this will become an issue, if anything it fixes most if not all market issues within the Diablo 2 franchise. It helps to create value in the in game currency and provides higher in game visibility for items that are to be traded. As for the MMO reference, I don't personally mind if Blizzad wants to incorporate a highly successfuly part of one of their MMO's, as long as it fits the games play style, and provides us a legitimate use. In this case I think it does because of the potential upside for stabilizing in game currency.

Only an opinion though.

I wish May 5th was here so Blizzard could announce the beta release.
Glad to see that this is being fixed, and was not just an issue with my ability to view this section.
