Sorry, I still don't have anything with the comic ready. Its really hard at the moment, being the end of semester and all when all my large and important assignments are due.
BUT, I decided to quickly colour in my old crappy Lord of Satire comics as a backup plan lol. I got Jetrall to colour in one of them (the first one). I think he did a great job, but I realised that its really not the kind of work that someone like Jetrall should be doing lol, its far too below him. So I coloured in the other two myself. But other than colouring, there really isn't anything for anyone else to do in the comic, its really only up to me. Don't worry guys, I'll get it done eventually.
Notes: I know, Diablo is a bit hard to see, but too bad lol. And I know that the 'what a douche' phrase was used incorrectly, but it was on purpose.
You have time to recall memories and make big posts like that but not give us new portions of the comic.
I can't really give you too much greif over that though, I am no better. I have so much stuff I should be doing, and here I am talking about the fact I am not doing them.
lol, I know, I'm sorry. I also have heaps of uni work to do too, and that unfortunately comes before the comic.
They did this scientific experiment where they showed this guy a digital counter like you would see on a normal alarm clock only that the numbers were going so fast that you could only see the blocks. Then they made this guy watch the counter while budgie jumping and he could see and remember the numbers., and What they found out was that you're mind can actually slow down time during a heightened state of alert.
I've actually had that experience myself! Except, well, I didn't really feel under stress, I was quite relaxed. I was standing against the fence in the basketball court at school with my friends. They were 'shooting hoops' while I was drinking a bottle of coke. Then, one of the guys (not necessarily my friend) throws one of the basketballs at me.
I watched the ball as it came flying towards me in an arc. It was actually moving strangely SLOWLY. I had time to glance at it, glance away, and glance back again. I remember thinking "Meh, I have plenty of time" lol. To me, it felt like I was standing there for a while, watching it slowly come. When it was about half way at me, I thought it was time I should screw the lid back on my coke bottle so as not to spill it. As I was screwing on the lid, I glanced up again and noticed the ball was getting a bit too close for comfort, so I decided that its probably time I get out of the ball's way lol. Just when it was about to hit me, I leaned to the side and dodged it. Just when it hit the fence is when time seemed to have gone back to normal speed.
The guy was like "Holy shit! I can't believe you dodged that!". Heh, it was cool. It was very Matrix-like; relaxed, waiting for it to come, then casually moving out of the way. It didn't feel like the ball was moving abnormally slow at the time, but afterwards I realised that wow, it was really slow.
My mind must have been going super fast for my perception to seemingly slow down the coming of the ball.
Actually, it reminds me of Action Man, with his adrenaline rush that slows down the situation. That must be where they got the idea from.
I have teleportation? or I used a portal? Sure lore wise my powers are vast and numerous, but I do not recall teleportation to be one of them. But then again, the full extent of my powers has yet to be fully revealed.
Yes, you know the Teleport spell. Its a bit of a complicated spell, but anyone as powerful as you surely knows how to teleport. Do you not agree that the Imperator would know how to teleport? Even though you wield a single Bastard Sword you call the Purifier, you still have much historical knowledge of Sanctuary, so clearly you are some sort of scholar. Someone of your intelligence would at the least find the usefulness of being able to teleport, and would surely, while reading through these books, come across the instructions to teach yourself how to do it. If you didn't come across, I'm sure you would have seeked it out. Of course, thats assuming that you aren't already part of any of the Mage Clans. It doesn't appear to be so, unless you change that about yourself.
Teleport's appearance seems to change because of all those mages in DI compared to the Sorceress' version in DII. So I made yours like a red flash. Remember at the end of Episode II, you disappeared in a flash of red light? -- that was you teleporting away.
Is it really so bad that you know how to teleport?
Lore that has already been established about you is hard to follow exactly, because not all of it fits in with Sanctuary or with the forums.
No, thats the last of the shaking. I just needed the first panel to shake so it sets the scene. The comic only has 2 shaking parts you know.
What do you mean another countdown? This is still the same countdown, it hasn't been resolved yet.
Its a wide shot of the town square, bell tower and announcement stand. The shaking is dying down, the sun is setting, and a storm has formed overhead (which caused the lightning). If you look closely, there are figures in the stand - although I might just quickly add a red glow in the middle of that, signifying Elfen's red teleportation.
You could liken it to a drug, you deal out smaller doses more often, hooking us more. I don't care too much as that is a drug I would gladly take. Stop pulling a blizzard and give us want we want!!! /jk.
Hahaha, here! Doesn't it just look like something epic is about to happen?
That actually took me hours to complete lol. But luckily the next part won't take as long.
Oh my god! You can't imagine the amount of things I have to do. Okay, so I'm still working on getting something new posted, but I have managed to write up a list of the references made in the first episode. I know, its pathetic, but hopefully I'll be able to get the first part of Episode IV done tomorrow. And hey, why would you rather wait another day for something you could have now? even if it is almost nothing.
Requiem: “I figured I should introduce myself before lurking around town and stuff” - in her intro thread she said "I figured I should introduce myself before lurking around the forums and stuff"
'Deeha’Blothri' town name = Diablo3.com forums (now known as Diablofans.com)
Elfen’s appearance – forum avatar (Vlad the Impaler)
Stonebreaker’s appearance – forum avatar
Winston’s appearance – forum avatar
Requiem’s appearance – similar to avatar, but the cloak isn’t
Requiem’s cloak – traveling cloaks of medieval times (mentioned a lot in the novels)
LinkX’s appearance – Young Link from Ocarina of Time
LinkX’s tackle – often tackles new forum members
LinkX’s “Don’t be offended”– direct quote from Requiem’s intro thread
Winston offering a slush puppie – does it a lot in intro threads
“Tits ass cold”– quote from Siaynoq in Requiem’s intro thread; couldn't use Siaynoq as he was away from the forums at the time
Tavern of Jay and Zubin bartender – Tavern of Jay thread
Requiem is from the East – from Battle.net UsEast
“Left wealth in east” “likes the challenge”– she said she likes the challenge of starting new characters with no resources
“By the light”– common expression in The Black Road
“Gold is so common”– in Diablo II, gold is very common to find lying on the ground everywhere as monsters drop it
- Remember, I'll try and get the first part of Episode IV up tomorrow.
And note that if I don't do it this way, it'll be like a month before I post the next episode. Its much faster and do-able this way.
Must be something with the version (scheme) your using, because it's in the font colour that the Carbon Fibre scheme uses. Which is a tanish colour. I copied the text from a word document, but if I do it without changing to colour it will show us as black text on a black background for me, and everyone else who uses the newest scheme, didn't know anyone used other schemes. Well in either case, someone was going to end up with a hard to read post, unless I actually typed out all of the reference or rather direct quotation from Zelda. And that is a lot of words.
Blue/grey is the only font colour that works on all three schemes. I think. Or maybe this colour?
While this comic also taken place in the forums itself, it is also present in the Diablo game world (Like many other fan fictions around this site, particularly any literature regarding the Order of the Silver Inferno Crusading Knights. I would need to confur with Atrumentis as to the exact date in which his comic is set, as while due to event portrayed in said comic, it would appear as though the comic is set in the year 2008, but there is no record of any date even remotely close to that in the Diablo world.
The only dates we have end at 1250 (The year in which Diablo 1 was set). That is a bit of a jump, but not impossible, the Novel and RPG thread and are set in the years 1498 and 1500 respectively. So this comic could indeed be set in 2008. Though based on how our world went, I would be ever so grateful if Atrumentis could have the world retain it's gothic look. I loathe the modern buildings with their over the top trying to be better than every one else crap. What happened to just making awesome dark marble buildings with grotesques and gargoyles on them, Like cathedrals in England, France and Germany (and possibly Italy too).
Come on Elfen, do you really think I would make anything that I create modern? The comic is set 8 years after the destruction of the Worldstone (because in real life the Worldstone was destroyed in 2000, and it is now 2008). So of course it is still in the gothic, medieval world.
Ultimately, that would depend on the size, scope and nature of the episode. If lots is going on you could spread it over a few weekends, teasing us, in true blizzard fashion with the released of each new part, but if there isn't to much going on it would be better to released that episode as one bigger part.
This is an epic episode, definitely. But yeah, I'll see what is appropriate for what it is. The first few parts are suitable to be released slowly, at least. SO i'll work on them first.
Diablo, and other games sort of do it as well, Radamant was a small quest and could easily be done in a single episode of a comic, where as something like the interconnected quests of Making a Horadric Staff, destroying the snake altar, locating Horazon's jorunal, finding which is the correct tomb of Tal Rasha is much larger and if you wanted to make it all one, you would be better to release parts of it at a time as opposed to one big release.
Hmm, thats a good point. I'll keep that in mind.
I believe I have mentioned this before, but since Stonebreaker got his own bio made, I feel other should have the same honour bestowed upon them, esp. the main characters. And alternatively forenotes and appendices can be made. Some people are new here, much of what goes on here has incredible backstory, that for them, might need explaining
As simple as bio's appear to be, its actually a lot of effort to get them right lol. Which is why I haven't released another so far. But alright, I think I'm ready for another one.
okay, then whats the difference between two halves of an episode and episode I and II? Each episode is part of the one big storyline, either way you will still have to wait for the next release to get the rest of the story.
Would you really rather wait weeks for a whole episode, or be able to get something every few days? Because if I wait for the whole episode to be completed, then it means that most of the episode could be done and I'll be just waiting to finish the last panel or something. If I complete bits of it sooner then I may as well give them to you.
We'll just test it for now, and see how it goes.
edit: yeah, by 'part' i mean like the Part A, Part B, Part C things.
Whats the difference between half an episode and one part of an episode?
hmm, you don't seem to really konw what you want lol. I think it'll be good if I release the next episode in parts just to test it out and see which method you like best.

Well, okay, probably not. But still, its a pretty complex human thing.

Thank you for the support, lol.
Okay, I added in the red glow.
