well actually wouldn't all of us be in the crowd but just can't see where we are because there are too many people?
Yeah, thats the idea. But I just don't want to disappoint people by pretending that their specific character is there.
And yes, Luckmann and Daemaro for me are definitely noticeable, but Asphorune not as much. Though he does ring a bell. But yeah, I'm definitely trying to get the older members in first. Lostie was only sort of in there because it was really easy to just draw Cain and call him by another name, because technically Cain can't be in Deeha'Blothri as he is in some other part of Sanctuary, possibly Tristram at the moment.
The whole timeline thing is confusing though, because its been seven years since LoD, but for Sanctuary its been twenty years. I chose to go with the seven. I dunno, I might have to end up fast forwarding time..
Sorry, Necronergal and Jeru aren't in there yet. But maybe next episode, eh?
Ohh yeah, that 'Deckard Cain' figure. That is actually the 'and a half' unannounced forum member. Do you remember someone called Lostraven? His avatar was an image of Cain, and I was gonna make him a Cain-impersonator lol, but he hasn't posted in a while (only have 62 posts), nor has he even posted in here. I dunno, somehow he just stuck in my memory. I think I remember him mainly because he always signed his posts with "- lostie", which I thought was a weird name, and his image of Cain has "Deckard Cain in da hizzouse!!!", which I also thought was weird. His weirdness left a mark on my memory lol.
Ohh, Link, good spotting. That guy is one of the two (and a half) yet-to-be-introduced forum members! He has piercings on his right leg, and a tattoo on his left (he also has piercings on his left arm). There's another mysterious forum member there too. I wanna see if you can guess them. There isn't a prize for guessing, unless you really want one lol.
The rogue is also next to the sorceress, and the sorcerer (from DI) is on the very right, though you can't actually tell. And the warrior from DI is the one that looks like he's saying "You mean Warcrap!".
Higher up of an organization turns out to be a demon. Not sure about the other reference to the novels. but I notice you talked of many things. of wax and kings. Two items mention is the poem the Walrus and the Carpenter, From Through the looking glass. I love you used that line. I myself have used it on a number of occasions.
Yeah, I suppose Mockery turning out to be a demon is a reference, but its pretty vague. More specifically, the speech that Mockery gives when he introduces Umaro was taken from Tsin's introduction to the Lost City of Ureh.
“You see a sight worthy of the loss of your men, captain,” the Vizjerei whispered, extending one bony hand toward the ruins. “For now you are one of the few fortunate ever to cast your eyes upon one of the wonders of the past—fabulous, lost Ureh!”
And the other reference to the novels is Mockery's whole skin-change thing. Mockery's transformation was based off Malic from The Sin War trilogy, how he can steal people's skins with a touch of his dragon-hand (which was a gift from Lucion). It allows him to literally wear the skin of someone else as a disguise, and taking the skin off again is a macabre sight indeed.
Oh yeah, and Elfen, yes, you are hard to make dialogue for. In a way, your delusion of eloquence goes against you. For when I decide on the dialogue, I have to bring conversations down to their core - partly because lengthy and casual convos are boring for any story, and partly because there isn't much room for conversations on the page. So when I come to trimming your dialogue down to the core, I find that although you say a lot, you really aren't saying much at all. Which is, of course, what 'delusion of eloquence' really is lol. And anyway, you didn't take much part in the Countdown. I suppose you will have more to say when it comes to demons and the citadel/church.
Bio's are actually really hard, because once something is written its set in stone, so you have to get it right the first time. Visuals, on the other hand, can easily be improved and altered as I go along. And yeah, I kind of have a bio already in mind for you, Link. Making your own bio could help me, but its no problem if you don't.
Can anyone find the two main references to the novels? Or any other reference, for that matter? And can you figure out who the two unannounced forum-members are in the crowd?
I'd just love it if someone would analyse the comics, I do put a lot of thought into all the little details. Every decision made is a conscious decision. For example: Why is Thasador's Wife's dress red? Because its a strong colour - she is the Mother of Assassins after all. Why is Umaro that colour blue? Because I've seen his picture on msn and he has very bright blue eyes. They are stunning. haha. And then the brown that goes with the blue gives him a bit of a darker edge and to separate him from Auriel, who also has robes of blue. And the two forms that Mockery has are purple and green because purple and green are the colours of his I-Mockery logo (purple and green are also jester/trickster-type colours, like the Joker or Two-Face or someone like that from Batman).
I was thinking of having some people with weapons in their hands, but I thought that if they did it would seem like they were gonna attack someone or declare war. But, they aren't really.
Whats your request, Link?
Edit: I'll see what I can do about your facial hair, Elfen.
Yeah, Ten Thousand Fists was my inspiration for that. Ah, sorry Elfen, but that age is how I see you. Kind of like the Prophet - extremely wise and knowledgable, but at the same time surprisingly young. Then again, if you don't like it, then obviously it doesn't suit your personality so ok, I'll make you older next time. Though I didn't quite mean to make you quite that young though. You look a bit older in the pic with your arms up though, I like that one. And sorry, I tried to give you some line of dialogue, but I honestly could not think of anything for you to say.
Silver's in the sky in the second pic. In the distance, top right corner. Looks like a smudge lol.
Oh yeah, Link, I was gonna give you your master sword. Umm...
Lol, as you can see, I finally figured out how to make elliptical speech bubbles.
There are two references from the Diablo novels, one obvious and one not-as-obvious. I wanna see if anyone can pick them?
Note the crowd too. Most of the background people are either generic or one of the classes from the games... BUT, three of them are in fact yet-to-be-introduced people from the forums. Well, more like two and a half. I won't make you guess who they are like the competition to guess piece of rubble, but I won't tell you the answer right away either
By the way, I'll do that rubble-competition episode next! But, realistically, it won't happen for another few months. My holidays finish very soon, so I don't have time to make another episode sadly.
If you happen to like your characters or if you're just curious, here are the bigger versions of the town-leader portraits. They each have a little background theme that kind of reflects their characters. Thasador's Wife does have her enchanted tiara on, but unfortunately its hard to see. I actually drew Cyks, Odijuar and Mockery's human form ages ago. Thasador is the most recent, and MD, Elfen and Thasador's wife are somewhere in between. You can tell by the quality of artwork lol.
Oh yeah, you'll have two things to look forward to this weekend! Not that my thing is anywhere near as important as the WWI lol. But still, its something extra. Yay.
No, I haven't forgotten. I'm working on the next episode now (the one that was just started). The winner will be revealed after this episode. I'm on holidays now, so it shouldn't take too long lol.

Jetrall, you're umm.. not there yet

Wait, I misspelled Charisma? Is it still misspelled? Cause I know it was wrong the first few times, but I thought I fixed it?
Edit: Oh my god, it IS still misspelt. Lolll. Seriously, I had to redo my sig three times already, I'm going for a fourth now.
Uni is hard work
Maybe
