I'm new around here, so please forgive me if I say something that's already been said, but I'm getting rather frustrated with all the negativity surrounding Diablo III. I, for one, am just ecstatic that it's coming.
One of the biggest complaints I've been seeing is the issue of color and brightness in the game. Since when has Diablo been about visuals? Diablo is about gameplay: fighting off hordes of monsters and trying to survive. Who cares if it's done in washed-out darker colors or brighter, more animated ones? I've been playing Diablo II for ages now, and never once did I stop and think, "I love how Diablo's main focus is on being dark and dreary." Yes, in some cases, it adds to the gameplay to have less visibility or darker colors, and I bet Blizzard will implement that at times, but I think what we've seen is just plain impressive.
Actually, I'm excited about almost everything I've seen so far. I love the auto-gold pickup, and the health orbs are a fresh take on keeping the action going. The skill runes sound like a lot of fun, and open the game up for multiple same-class replays. The new inventory screen looks promising. I never minded the tetris system, but I won't be devestated if it's scrapped for something else. The new, larger unique bosses are menacing and exciting. It's one thing to battle Diablo when he's relatively the same size as you, but imagine if he'd been three times your size. It'd feel more epic...more frightening.
Overall, I don't know why there are so many negative threads about the new game. It's just that: new. There's something to be said when a company decides to make a sequel that's not just a newer, almost remake of a game. From what we've been shown, which necessarily isn't much, it looks to me like Diablo III will be a fresh take on the old games. There are new graphics, new classes, and new quests, all while we still get to force our way through demons and monsters for the greater good.
Thank you, Blizzard, for making us a new Diablo game. I'm excited.
HEY!!! welcome... take a sit and start loosing your mind... here you'll get cranky and start complaining about everything until you loose what's left of your sanity... lol
Welcome, welcome. I'm glad to see you're so excited about Diablo 3, I think you'll feel very much at home in Diablofans. Remember though, that everyone's different. For me Diablo was more about the visuals and atmosphere (among other things) than the gameplay so I place a lot of importance on that aspect of the game.
Negative threads are less prominent nowadays as people begin to see more of the game and I'm sure you'll find everyone pretty pleasant. May you contribute much to the forums and continue to keep your open mind!

This complaint has actually died down quite a bit. When the game was first announced we were deleting and merging threads on brightness complaints like there were only two tomorrows.
Im so excited about diablo 3 that im going to sit in this chair and not move until it comes out. *waits about a year and a half* ugh this is harder than i thought...
I'm glad to hear that people seem to be complaining less, especially about the visuals. And I do understand that everyone plays for different reasons, and I apologize for imposing mine so blatently as the norm. Mainly my point is we should all let Blizzard do their thing, and trust that they can handle making us another Diablo that keeps us happy.
And thanks for all the welcoming! It's nice to feel accepted

I think you'll find less negative threads on this site than on the battlenet forums. I'm not a member of the battlenet forums, but I have heard about them.

I think most people here would agree with you on this, but we like to talk and give opinions on news as it comes in.
