So the thing that I find that pisses me off BEYOND BELIEF is the kids who join the site and expect to be treated like they were always here. I am talking about the ones who start fights (I get pissed at this because when I react, I get banned), making smart ass remarks, and try to post extremely irrelevant information just so they could try to "fit in".
I personally think the mods shouldn't help save these newcomers, because it's their job to fit in here, and not our job to make them feel at home. If you have 1-100 posts, I believe that you shouldn't make smart ass remarks and troll around.
We are an online community which makes sharing and exchanging ideas our main focus. Yep, things can definitely get out of hand. That it why you as an 'old-timer' is expected to show the example and deal with the situation in a calm and mature way.
You actually have more 'responsibility' than more rights
I am not putting you down. We all have our bad days. And sometimes things get out of hand. So, don't let it bother you too much.
Lmao, this isn't parenthood. "Old-timers" can have more rights than newcomers, who should really focus on making sure that they are likable. Old timers have that small right to say "Dude that's fucking gay lmao" since almost everyone here knows that don't care.
This isn't a society with responsibilities. It's a "the more experience you have, the more fun you can have" thing.

Not really.. If a newcomer came along and started acting like a douchebag, I'm pretty sure it would be just as frowned upon as if a member who's been posting for a few years did the same thing. Just because you've been here a while it doesn't give you the 'right' to be a jackass.

Purposely starting fights and making smart ass remarks classify as being a jackass, in my book. Posting irrelevant information is just being uninformed. I'd look at someone, if they did any of those things, the same way whether they had 10 posts, or 5000+.

Your understanding abilities aren't too great as well.
I said, that the more time you put into this site and if you gained respect, you can get away with more things. Newcomers expect the same treatment nowadays, and I'm saying that it's wrong.
Why should an old time member here get away with breaking the rules. If a rule is broken then the person should either get a warning or punished.
All members should be given respect. If you disagree with an opinion you can say so in a respectful manor. If it is getting disrespectful or flaming starts the moderators will have to get involved and do what is right for the community.

Apparently the mods don't understand it either. A shame.
I bet most offenders like getting away with stuffs.
If you are getting so many infractions, then it's time to reflect on your behavior.
It's good you used- 'if you gained respect'. Most newcomers don't know IF you gained respect. Once again I say it, your join date and post count are no indications of your behavior.
And if you like going 'LMAO it's so gay' often, you certainly won't get much respect. And apparently the mods won't let you get away with it either.
Since I joined most of the 'old timers' have been really nice people. And it did help me adjust faster.
Edit- And about your fucking walls- I understand you are trying to make it about newcomers but most people will understand(and rightly so) that the problem lies with you.
I do know what you are talking about. Still we are responsible for our comments we make here and that goes for everyone.
Yes sometimes new people may show some disrespect or troll. Those people will usually not stay too long since they are likely going to be banned.
If someone new posts some wrong information or something that you do not agree with does not mean that anyone should treat that person with disrespect.
A lot of people here do not speak English as the first language. If someone has spelling errors or words that does not make much sense. We can always ask is that what you mean or other methods.
If you have an issue on your bans or your infractions then it is best to contact the moderators.

Why don't you provide us with an example of what an old-timer can 'get away with'?
*sigh*
Okay, so what I MEANT to say is that the longer you're here, and the more respect you have, you can get away with small stuff like "dude that looks stupid" because it's like 2 friends in the real world talking to you. If some random guy comes and says it, you automatically take offense and you get pissed off.

I wouldn't take offense, or get pissed off about it either way. Friends in real life and friends over the internet are different. It would depend on how they say it for me to decide how I feel about it. If a new member came along and commented on my post with a simple "dude, that looks stupid." I wouldn't take offense, nor would I get pissed off. That's his opinion, and I'll leave it at that. If they rambled on about it insulting me for no particular reason, I'd get a little ticked, and respond how I would respond to a jackass who's insulting me. Now, if they indicated sarcasm, I'd return it with my own. I wouldn't be friends with someone like that, anyway.

Anyways, post what you think about this.
... But I will refrain, since I'm supposed to be responsible and all.
Staff position, graw.

An old timer has a little bit more rights on what to say, and newcomers really shouldn't challenge them.
You reap what you sow.
If you are disrespectful, there is a big chance people will disrespect you. Your logic is extremely childish.
Your join date and post count are not indicative of your behavior. Your posts are.
