I don't think runewords removes abilities, they only add.
Emilemil1 is right, runewords do not remove abilities.
You can forge, tinker, dstone and gem meld an item after you put runeword in it or before, whichever is your preference.
Also, if the runeword has variable mods you can keep cubing it over and over until you get it perfect; that is when I would start to dstone etc. it. That way, you don't have to keep removing the runes each time you do something to it.
However, if you do this (add dstoning and gem melding after you runeword it) then remove the runes you will lose all the dstoning etc. That is why I would keep rerolling until you get a perfect runeword first, then add to it. Just never remove the runes.

Yeah thats what I have been doing. I would put it in over and over in order to get a perfect. Another ? though how do i make it possible for players sixteen? I know how to make it 8 but I have tried for 16 and get nothing but says players set to 8. Can I make an item ethereal that isn't ethereal yet? Drives me nuts want to make some stuff but can't FINd them ethereal at all.
I'm pretty sure I've read it somewhere else besides where I could find the only in-depth info about /playersx last night, but I don't think /players16 works in the most recent versions of ES.
I remember reading something more specific about it somewhere, but I've been unable to find it again, so far. I'll post it when /if I do.
Yeah, I believe it worked in versions prior to R6C but you can only go up to p8 now.

I'm surprised that bothers anyone. I really can't stand parties of more than four or five anyway. Everyone just goes fuckling the shit out of everything, wandering off in their own direction and then there are squabbles.
I get some awesome drops with p8 - but not always.
I posted about a MoP run I had recently where I racked up a lot of goodies, but since then, I have come close to it but I'm in a dry spell right now I guess.
I have yet to get anything really nice from uber D. The best thing I have gotten from him was Blade of Arkanon. (sp?)

O h yeah like what u going to gamble for? its like there are soo many items i just use up my shared stash and just keep every item that I don't have so later on down the road I wont need it unless a char needs the item as well then its off to MFing.
Guys my friend gave me the runes to make gold scarab ok... well when i re roll it to try and make it perfect the holy shock points on it will not go past 3 but yet the luck of the ancients will change everytime. does anyone know why this is?
Hey i was just wondering, i log onto himachi but it seems like no one is ever on so i don't have a server to play on. Any good servers with quite a few people playing?
I know in Dead End that the entrance to Nowhere doesn't show up on the map, and that it's always by the sparkling chest, but I swear to god, sometimes the entrance truly is nowhere to be found. I'll look all over the area with the sparkling chest and comb over everything with my cursor and it's just totally not there. It's almost as if some games the entrance doesn't even spawn.
Hehe - notice the Defense on the Demon Fleece I picked up last night.

Hahhaha nice, Stormy! It took me a second to clue in to what it meant though, haha.
Oh and I have a question for everyone: FOr the Assassin's level 60 set (Ihsan's), it says on the database that the armor for that set is "Shinobi Armor". However, there is no such thing as "Shinobi Armor", only "Shinobi Cloaks" -> which is the assassin-specefic armor in the elite form. So it would make sense that this amror is what they were meaning. But if that is the case, should I not have gambled it by now? As I have easily spent over 5 million on it, which costs 40-50k per attempt and I am apparently supposed to have a 6.6% chance of getting it each attempt.
Is this just a case of really bad luck (in the sense I am yet to gamble it), or REALLY bad understanding (where I'm gambling for the wrong item and there actually is such a thing as 'Shinobi Armor')?
