what that something was i dont know, but something that helped add a 'special' feel to it thats not just a color change.
who knows, hopefully blizzard will have a front page post with pics/videos of the new dyes and the wings in acion of something. an overview of the contents in detailed form so to speak
It's a special color change! I'm sure it won't just be slightly off a current color. It'll be cool looking.
And yeah, a video would be nice. That static picture of the wings from the Collector's Edition information page doesn't do them justice, I'm sure.
So I just noticed something, they have image placeholders but there is a description, though I am sure it could change.
Bottled Cloud: The gentle wind of the heavens cools the air, infusing the area with a soft glow.
Bottled Smoke: An eerie howl emanates from within as creeping shadows spill forth.
These descriptions seem very different from the other dyes and the bottled cloud makes it sound like it would glow but wouldn't that be a particle effect?

It would be a particle effect. It's just flavor text, like all the other dyes have.
Didn't even flinch. You knew this all along, I've seen all the photos and videos and there is no difference between the CE dyes and their single-use counterparts. If you want a particle effect use your imagination. Don't be mad at least you'll be able to sell pale and rogue dyes that you find to the have nots althought, I don't think pale and rogue will be among the most expensive dyes anyways. Being able to dye your armor a black or white shade means you really only need 1 or 2 other (preferably colored) dyes for each char if you want you look badass.
Here's what I think Blizz is doing. The wings are the thing that makes you stick out amongst the crowd an $40 extra dollars or something like that. When the wings are turned off if your armor dye will also be greatly distinguishable from the rest than you would always stick out and might not always want that to be the case. When your wings are off no on will be the wiser about what version you bought. Also a particle effect would be much better than any dye and would devalue even the rarest dyes. Particle effect dye would be best left as an item that drops only. From what I think is going to happen the CE dyes will have a minimal impact on the economy of the game. The CE dyes are going to be an awesome convience and I see them as a thank you from Blizz for being awesome fans (aka customers).

The CE things are not implemented in the Beta. What you've seen are placeholder dyes. In this case - pale and rogue. CE dyes will be unique.
I thought this is general knowledge by now.

All dye is removed when an item is placed on the Auction House so you can't sell dyed things anyways (this was also an answer to one of the fan-site questions if you were wanting a source). So the only way to dye things for other people is directly.
As for the dye remover I think it will be relatively cheap.
No particle effects was already confirmed, and if this 'unique' they speak of is anything like the difference between rogue and abyssal then I wouldn't expect much. And assuming they aren't going to make them Rainbow coloured even if your right they will probably end up being a shade inbetween rogue and abyssal (pale and purity) unless they make it some other obscure color.
To be honest I'm colorblind, so even if they're totally unique it doesn't make quite a lot of difference to me. The major part is that they are two additional dyes. So even if I'm not sure what color they are - if they look cool I'll apply them. If I don't dig them, well, there are 20 more.

Anyone know what the dye remover will cost?

Ha. Bagstone.
At least I'll have unlimited usage on dyes. Still hope they look cool
Yeah, & you're really bright.

But seriously..oh well?
Not sure if you read anything but it's not raging because there is no particle effects, it is more about the possibilities for what this dye could be.
