If it's gonna release within Q1 they should have stated Q1, the fact that they felt the need to use the term "early" indicates that Q1 was too loose of a term for them to use.
As wingless stated anything beyond Q1 can't really qualify as "early" since early implies that the year has recently begun, and isn't already a quarter or more down the road.
That leaves us with the Q1 months:
-Jan
-Feb
-March
Lets start off at the bottom, as i said earlier, if march was their targeted date, they would've just used the perfectly fitted term "Q1" for this announcement, whereas January and February(January in particular) still qualifies for "early".
Ofcourse you could argue that "early" still is a loose term and isn't really defined, but blizzard is experienced enough too know what their customers read from their release estimates and you can't deny that many, if not most expected "early" to mean Jan/Feb. And if they didn't want to imply such a release window they simply should have layed off the term "early".
I honestly believe they thought they would make a Jan or Feb release, but it does indeed seem like they where off with their estimate once again(but atleast this time they wont have to announce it, simply because "early" isn't defined).
Which pretty much conclude that it wont be a January release...

Ahh I see. Sorry for double posting then
But yea.. Q1 about March doesn't seem off in this matter.
