Vendor prices =/= value of the item, but in essence, it's the players who set the value of the items.
hence it's the market value, versus the solid vendor price.
Yes but the vendor price must be representative of their power... It's will guide you for the first prices, because on start of d3, AH will be empty (I guess) so you need a standard... or something.

Theres no problem in monsters dropping 500-600 pieces.... just make items not sell for 25k.
.......... uuuh please no... maybe final drop of end hell I will be happy, but I still find it too much...
Yes, and the standard will fluctuate quite a bit until it is finally settled.
Think of it like a Dam. The water is the items available, and the Dam is the release date. When that dam breaks (or lets water pass unladen), the level of the water will be high because of the amount of items available, and the uncertainty of prices... but as time goes on, the water level will drop to normal levels, just like the prices.
It's not a perfect analogy, but it gets the job done.

Although the price can never drop below vendor price, it is never the vendor price that sets the actual value of the item (only the lower limit). The price for something is often high above the vendor price.
Indeed, else you better to sell to vendor to make profit.
And another time, D3 will not be D2 and even less WoW... Blizzard doesn't talk about AH, only about trade system.

And if everybody was same as you emil, AH will still empty for a while...
If I were the first player to use "trade system", I'll check vendor price and set little bit more.
It's a possibility but I think, maybe you won't be able to set any prices....

Right ! it's exactly why we shouldn't take AH for granted. But something inspired of...
