what happened to all you real gamers who build their own PC s?
JESUS
Not everyone is that tech savvy. I happen to fall into this category. I looked into getting the stuff I needed to build my own pc. By that I mean buy the stuff and have my bro-in-law assemble it for a nominal fee. Newegg declined my credit app though
Since I had $4000.00 available to me through Dell I got:
XPS 625
AMD Phenomx4 9850 @ 2.5GHz/125W
8GB DDR2 SDRAM @ 800MHz
1024MB ATI Radeon 4870
500GB NCQ SATA 2 Hard drive @ 7200rpm
Windows Vista 64-bit operating system
I don't know exactly what all that means. I don't really care to to be honest. I'm fairly certain that this new comp should be able to handle just about any game that I want to play though. For the money I paid I certainly hope it does. As for a custom box I would love to have a horadric cube shaped tower. I would be tickled pink to have one of those parked on my desk.

Oh god no! I don't think I could hit the purchase button on a $4000 dollar computer. lol. I paid $1676 for it after taxes and shipping. I set the budget of $1700 and we met the mark. I had $4000 available to me but I didn't spend it all. That would just be frivilous. Good to hear it from someone other than my brother-in-law that it should do the trick.

Yeah I agree 1700 is a bit much if I was able to go through newegg or tigerdirect it would have been cheaper and I would have been able to pick and choose what I wanted or needed. It blows my old comp out of the water and that is what I wanted so yes I am happy with it even though it was a bit overpriced. It only costs me $48/month so I'll throw $100/month at it and get it paid off quick.

new egg had an i7 deal with the lousy halo graphic for like 1.2k and that thing was absolutely loaded. I dont want Dell to have anything to do with the making of this machine if Blizzard does make recomendations just because Dell prices their products by taking the final actual cost and hitting x2 on a calculator. I am sorry if you bought an xps ever hahaha you wasted half your money.
I really like the cube case idea haha that would be cool, specially if every now and then it coughed out a perfect gem. shit would pay for itself
Why do people still buy name-brand computers? Building your own PC is about easy as putting Lego's together. I think the hardest part is keeping all of the wires nice and organized!
Newegg.com is the greatest thing ever created(Except Diablo, of course)! Regardless, that's a nice system. I don't have any plans on bulding a new i7 system for at least another year.

It's rather complicated, for example, I have no clue what Motherboard goes with what graphic card and what processors it can handle.
I don't know about cooler placement, nor how to assemble those darn things.
That's why I choose norrod and not dell or anything. You can just select what hardware you want, and they will assemble. Providing all information about motherboards blabla.
You still need to figure out if it's compatible but it's cool.
Point is, not everybody can do it (including me) it's rather hard for us normal/softcore gamers.
Yeah, I understand!
I was in your shoes years ago until I self-taught myself through Google. It's rather simple if you ever have any desire to sit down and learn it.

edit: 1700!?! Damn dell overcharges so much, heh. But yeah, it should get the job done for you, I'm sure you'll be happy with it =)
