It's not that hard to make the bot copy and paste either. If you can make a bot play a freaking video game, it surely can copy a few words. Trust me, it's not too difficult.

the code cannot be copied and pasted, its a tried method that is secure to a point, it can be bypassed but there will be admins.
on another note, does anyone know any blizzard contacts, an official petition might silience the qualms rather quickly.

There may be one on the D3 page or blizzard home or something not sure.
But I'd ask for a poll with 2 different options current (with a picture) and new (with a picture).
Should be the same picture but made less colorful by a Blizzard official as I think they can give us more of a happy medium than most of the photoshops.

I doubt it, maybe if you could only vote on the poll with a b-net account or valid D2 serial. Otherwise mountains of WoW loving kiddies would vote that they love the fairytale graphics and everyone who dislikes the graphics would know this and be decidedly unhappy about it. Hence the arguments would rage on.

that doesnt matter at all, not to mention its probably unlikely. WoW players cant be accounted for, and they may vote both ways. it should be a bnet poll though, which means valid email, valid account, no bots, official, and admin monitored.
i want to send an email to a blizzard rep and hopefully he can sort this out, because God knows...a million of these threads daily about art and such are getting really annoying, and burying some of the really good threads away.

If it is a style they like, that they think works and suits Diablo, then I see no reason they should cater to the whining of some people who have only seen a limited amount of the game and have no experience in graphic development. All these people had to do was jump on the bandwagon and sign a petition. Why should Blizzard cater to this minority over their own ideas and development process?
I fail to see how making a game in the style they choose makes them "almighty". It is their game, they can do what they want with it.
Perhaps it is the small number of fans who believe they have the right to tell Blizzard how to make their own product who have the illusion they are more important than they are.
if not for the many loyal fans of the blizzard community, where would they be today? and blizzard has always been connected very consciously with their fanbase and community. the "almighty" was just a simile to show what i think is wrong.
Edit:
let me give you an analogy: i used to work at starbucks, known for customer loyalty. lets say you spend around 10 USD everyday there, and got to know me as a friend, then one day i decide i dont want to make your order the way you like like it, and dont even hear your comments on it, instead giving you a rash "get used to it". it feels as if fans are rejected is what im getting at. granted my example is overblown, but im sure that some people might have similar emotions

If it was going to be anywhere else but the main Blizzard site I would agree, but if they put such a poll on the main site then inevitably a large portion of WoW players some of who may have no intention of ever playing the game are going to be voting where they wouldn't have bothered if the poll was elsewhere. owning a battlenet account however would be a fair enough solution to that.

I've never heard of selling a game to only a specific group of people. The game will be available for any consumer. Why should the poll be limited to only those who've played Diablo 2? Are you saying just because you're a "diehard fan" that your vote should count more?

I guess... but what about those people that want to start the Diablo series with D3? There is a big chunk. Even WoW players or simply people that are just now getting interested in the game scene.
It shouldn't just be about old fans. It should be about anyone who wants to play.
(no I'm not new, I've played Diablo for many many years.)

You wouldn't have a vote for which food is better for you, icecream and lollies or a 3 course meal in a kindergarten, I don't want the way Diablo looks to be in any way decided by the WoW fan base. A larger percentage of those attracted to shiny objects would vote than of a normal crowd of gamers.

That's very biased and unfair.
Whoever is serious about buying/playing the game should have a say in how it looks, no matter what.
It's about majority and sales over minority, either way it turns out.

how can you say that any portion of WoW players, major or minor, will vote to keep it "the same" for lack of argument...?
what if they all vote for a darker scenery change? you cant predict what will happen in this poll because the two games are very different in playing style.
So is there any reason that Blizzard should be catering to this minority?
logical answer, no.
my answer, theres always a middle ground...

I played WoW for about 2 years, do I want Diablo 3 to look like WoW? Hell no. That's why I want the green lighting gone, that's the only thing I see no reason for that's related to WoW.

That's the thing. The WoW community isn't interested in buying/playing anything new.
It's funny you say that because I know many people who are tired of WoW, some have played Diablo, some haven't. A lot of them have said they will quit WoW for D3 when it comes out.

as i have played d1 and d2 for about 4-6 years combined, do i want it to look like d1 or d2? no. i want to see beautifully rendered cities and backdrops and scenery.

They always say that but immediately decry any newcomers. Or if they do try it they come back a few weeks later saying they didn't like it, because it wasn't like WoW.
I just can't trust a community that thinks it is 4chan to do anything with intelligence.

More people = more sales. It really doesn't matter if they stick around or not. Unless this is going to be pay to play.
I know for a fact a lot of people will still stick around. WoW is immensely boring once you've done everything and is a huge money sink. That's why I quit. No one plays WoW with all of their time. Most high levels raid then when that's over they have nothing to do so they'd play D3.
On the other hand I played D2 for about 6 years. I got bored from time to time but it was free and occupied my time and I always felt the need to come back.

I believe my joke was misunderstood, somewhat.
I was commenting on the overall intelligence of the average user of WoW.
If you asked them what they thought about D3, they'd assume you were saying some new MMO was going to try and destroy WoW and get all defensive about it.
