How about a half-breed (not like the before mentioned ones) of like a Human and an Orc? It could be like a Big burly guy with claw feet and big teeth and big claws. Black armour covered in spike and 2 swords (similar to diablo2 barbarian). It could have a finishing move where it stabs its enemy and pulls them forward and then eats some of their flesh (its a 1/2 orc, remeber) and gains health/mana from it. Also it could have a move where it flips back its sword so that the blade is facing towards it and claws the enemy and spins its sword back up and slices it enemy.
No !
But a good Character would be a lycan... it would be liek the D2 expansion druid but the Lycan only revolves around changing into animals and kicking ass!

so does my warlock, inborn abilites not spells shapeshifting is an ability, if you arent using spells you are most likely fighting with a weapon or hand to hand

What about playing as one of the brute monsters on Diablo He would alot like the barbarian except there would b weapons and armors just for his class like ass the other classes. There are always good and bad things about one character class, like the sorceress is good in long range attack but not so good in melle. So his upsides would b good melee fighter, power up attacks, Can take alot of damg and not b hurt to bad (like ironskin built in him), but some downfalls would be slow, not good at long range attacks, he's big so he's a bigger target to hit. spells and such hurt him alot more then melee, and starts off with low res.
Some skills he would hav are as follows:
Brute Force: a powerful attack, the brute calls for str from diablo then jumps and hits the ground for a ripple effect. starts off at low radiace and mid damg.
Shadow Brute: He could hav somethin like a shadow like the assassin but make it also like a mercenary to where he can lvl up and such.
Rampage Run: The Brute for a short time can run very fast and has visible very strong iron skin over his body running into his enemies and killing them with the sheer force of the damg taken by the hit of him bashing into them.
I have other ideas as well but would take a long time to type and alot of space but this is just an idea that popped into my head and if this is an idea someone else had which i dont think it but if it is i also agree with you 100% more than likely.
it seems like alot of the skills are just borrowed and renamed... in some cases reworked
Rampage Run: charge
Brute Force: concentration and war cry
Shadow Brute assn

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
Thats a good point as well. But if they do make different sides such as good and evil for d3 then maybe this is a possibility like i said i hav other ideas just one that popped in my head i figured i would share, the skills would more then likely need rewordked out.
I came up with another idea while playing d2 lod today. An Illisionist. He uses his power to confuse all the monsters he incounters. While they are confused he uses either a bow of long range spells to kill it. The three parts of his skill tree would b Mirror, spells, and Bow Skills.
Here are some skills i thought up of:
Mirror Skill
Mirror Image: makes shadows of urself that cant hurt the monster but confuses it. Starts out with 1 mirror image and lasts for short period of time. Then as gets higher, lasts longer and up to like 10 of them.
Thats all i got right now i''l reflect and think up of some more stuff on my idea of illisionist.
If someone had this idea in an older thread my apologies but from what i read noone did. Theres another idea
LIST OF IDEAS: Seriously, I would like to see ninjas,no archers remember rumor has it that the game is going to be PvP based.Archers would easily own people. Speacil characthers similar to the Heaven and Hell type charcthers. Heaven should have the normal paladin from D2 scince they are warriors of light and hell should have an Izual type ting in act 4 of diablo 2. both factions would be able to get wings after a certian point. But I would like it to be as though you looked like tyrial and izzy (some one correct me on tyrial) the shiny aura that "T" has and the dark bluish type that izzy has. But instead of heaven vs hell like WoW .... I would like it to be like fable, lets say you do many quest until you get to level 30.quests to see how you become An Angel Or Demon and then the PvP starts. thats what i would like. (there should be a little bar thats says how far you are demon and and angel and that bar determinues you physical and mental looks, avalible skills, usuable items, so if your neutral i guess you could use a mixture of both evil and good but no PvP) example of bar :
------------------ except better looking like Star Wars:KOTOR
Ninjas Would Actually Be Pretty Cool and i also think that they should remake the assasin i mean she cant even use two weapons at once besides the katars and she also doents have the cool moves like backstab
The heaven and hell i think wouldnt work with the storylines that well with diablo or it will just b like WoW, even if they did like fable it will still turn out ur heavenly or demon therefore making heaven vr hell.In the end with the bar it would still b heaven vr hell. The Ninja might b pretty kool i agree there, but it would b way to close to assassin. If they remade the assassin then maybe that would satisfy you for a ninja, make her hav some kooler moves such as what u mentioned backstab and such.
-Choose Male/female => choose Class => choose Faction -more warrior, priest and mage types, there are lots of classes yet to be explored and some are quite fun to play; Anti-Paladin (anti-Paladin is not a necromancer) Archer (kinda like male amazon) Bard (not the hellfire version a good one) Bounty Hunter Crusader Fist Fighter Hellion Ninja (kinda like male assassin) Ranger Samurai (kensai) thief -some more warrior classes or warriors with a few magic spells -there is really only 1 healer (paly) and yes people like to going healers, so more healer classesone of which is a kind of exorcist, good against demons and undead; Cavalier Inquisitor Prior monks (zealots) clerics warrior priests (think knight's templar with spells) -a new type of mage would be nice either a; Abjurer specializes in protection magic (kinda like auras) Conjurer specializes in creating creatures and objects to help him Diviner specializes in detection and divining magic (find/disable trap, far sight and identify) Enchanter specializes in manipulating the minds of sentient beings Geomancer specializes in earth based magic Hydromancer specializes in water based magic Illusionist specializes in creating illusions to confuse and mislead Invoker specializes in invocation/evocation magic (lightning/magic type spells) pyromancer specializes in fire based magic Necromancer specializes in magic dealing with death [but we already have 1] Transmuter specializes in magic that alters physical reality Warlock (not like the wow one) A supernatural character whose sinister powers are inborn abilities, not spells, Such as shapeshifting

6) Inquisitor/Slayer - This would actually be almost a subset of the paladin, falling into the same "category", though far more specialised, going specifically anti-undead and anti-demon (admittedly the two most common things in the game!)
Special items or equipment would be bit tricky here, possibilities exist for some sort of weapon, but I would be more interested in some sort of armour, simply becuase character specific armour (barring the barb helms) is not an option right now. Alternatives would be holy/specialist weapons(stakes? too cheesey!).
Skill trees would be a bit tricky, as ideally there would be seperate trees for anti-undead, anti-demon, and general combat. Realistically it would possibly be easier to combine the two anti-lists into one tree, have a general combat tree and then a prayer/cantrip/aura tree, similar to the paladin. Though this may make the inquisitor TOO much like the paladin!
As a note, I envisage the Inquisitor/Slayer as being a fairly lonely, and somewhat irritating character for multiparty play - his anti-tree should affect the undead of the Necromancer, and possibly anti-demon things should affect valkyries and shadows too!
Anti-undead things could be quite simple, and also easily combined to target demons - holy bolt, holy aura that weakens them, holy aura that repels them, banishment [Undead/demons with a lower mlevel (or mlevel lower than half teh characters level?) than the character are "banished" with a single click - would be fairly high up the tree list, and have a heavy mana cost]. The ability to enhance the damage or defence of characters or minions against demons and undead - either auras or one on one enchantments/prayers/blessings (bestowing a lightly glowing white aura on other players/npc's would be cool though!).
Combat skills would be fairly difficult, as you would need "new" skills that don't play like anyone else. A slight sprinkling (2 or 3 max) from the paladin tree might be acceptable, but generally, newer skills would be needed. My personal favourite would be something along the lines of backpeddle, walk up, hit the monster and then step three steps back. If succesful the monster doesn't get to hit you, and will need to follow up, allowing another backpeddle - not much use for groups, but good for isolating or isolated monsters. Room-clearer, a blow only usable with two handed weapons or polearms, would sweep the weapon in a large arc, not doing overmuch damage, but knocking everyone it does hit backwards (knockback).
Blessings would be a tricky tree too, ultimately useful on others, though some should be capable of being used on the character. These would perhaps work more like auras. Though a slight mixing of paladin-like auras would be acceptable, newer ones would need to be created. First level one could be "heal" just a little mana costing one. others could increase stats, movement, AR or defence (too similar to paladin?) Stamina or even, if you run out of ideas, Magic Find.
These are well thought out ideas but seem to be alot like stuff from diablo2 lod just reworked out with different names such as blessings, these seem to be wc's or aura's to me with different names.
yeh, for my char ideas i tried to think of char that havent been in diablo before, or were very different, paladin, inquisitor, crusader, they are all types of paladins

I think for each account you make you can pick dark or holy and the well effect the storyline and stuff, and every character should have a female and male form, i also think there should be like a ninja, samuari, vampire, satan type guy(dark mode only), god type guy(holy mode only), and manymore.......
