yes D,M,B soulstone are destroyed, but they dont need them to survive
diablo couldnt posess cain, it would be a repeat of what happened to king leoric, his body would rot away and cain would become the undead, diablo needs someone fairly weak in mind, but strong in body (they all do) they can overpower like prince albrecht(D), the warrior(D), tal rasha(B), and que hae'gan(M)
-somewhere between 7-20 or so chars
-since its heaven vs hell it looks like there will be a light and dark version of each char (cool)
more warrior and mage types, there are lots of warrior classes yet to be explored and some are quite fun to play;
samurai(kensai)
ninja(male assassin)
hellion
ranger
anti paladin
-some more warrior classes or warriors with a few magic spells 2 isnt really enough(barbar/zon)
-there is really only 1 healer(paly) and yes people like to going healers, so more healer classes;
monks (zealots)
clerics
warrior priests (think knight's templar with spells)
-a new type of mage would be nice either a;
Abjurer specializes in protection magic (kinda like auras)
Conjurer specializes in creating creates and objects to help him
Diviner specializes in detection and divining magic (find/disable trap, far sight and identify)
Enchanter specializes in manipulating the minds of sentient beings
geomancer specializes in earth based magic
hydromancer specializes in water based magic
Illiusionist specializes in creating illusions to confuse and mislead
Invoker specializes in invocation/evocation magic (ligthning/magic type spells)
pyromancer specializes in fire based magic
necromancer specializes in magic dealing with death[but we already have 1]
Transmuter specializes in magic that alters physical reality
warlock (not like the wow one) A supernatural character whose sinister powers are inborn abilities, not spells.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
those are good ideas but they seem a lot like they are more party based, because some of them dont seem like they would have the ability to fight off many monsters
well that depends a lot on their skills most of those mage types i suggested can be quite powerful (in DND) with the right spells

Yes if you have the right speels you wont need hand to hand combat because they will die before they reach you. Plus if you have something like mirror image you can still whoop ass
yeh mirror image, minor invulnerabliltiy globe, summon demon, imprisionment, hehe oh and time stop how'd i forget that spell

Yes time stop. Got my bottom out of many a jam. Of course I always could stop time with my ranger and the infamous 'SpaceBar' spell
Timestop would be good in d3 if it worked on monsters only and didn't affect teamates. it could be like ice and how it slows unique and other players but freezes normal monsters. It could just freeze everyone within a radius for a certain amount of time
also like a total BGII addict i still press spacebar, and wonder why the hell doent it work

I think it was either...Valhalla or Eastern Sun. it worked pretty good
It would be really boring because there would be no such thing as levelling up or skills
